john: we had the same thing in the US about white couples adopting black kids. Before political correctness, in the 70s and early 80s, it was almost common to see a white couple with an adopted black kid in some parts of the US.
Then it was declared “racist” for white parents to adopt black kids by the pc mavens. White partents who couldn’t conceive started adopting Chinese babies instead.
The result: surplus of unwanted black American children growing up in foster homes, many of them abusive, while willing, good adoptive parents go to China for adoptees.
No one has declared it “racist” for white people to adopt Chinese babies.
