listening to Any Answers on radio 4 now. they are discussing the recent discovery of two car bombs in London.

maybe the car bombers are a crack team o f Mormons specialising in urban warfare.

or maybe the car bombers are disgruntled Buddhists , who want Tibet back.

It seems as if the entire panel is avoiding the elephant in the room. References to “ethnic minorities” is about as close as you get.

So, maybe theres a squad of Polish plumbers out there who specialise in car bombs?

The prospect of such an attack less than a mile from Downing Street cast a shadow over Gordon Brown’s second day in office.

The Scotsman is greatly understating the problem. I would say that the prospect of such an attack, and of an endless series of similar attacks, casts a shadow not just over the current government of Britain, it casts a shadow over all modern liberal societies, which in the name of equal respect for all people (a phrase that comes straight from Melanie Phillips’s liberal credo) have denied their own cultural distinctiveness and political sovereignty, and on that basis have freely admitted within their borders unlimited numbers of unassimilable aliens.”

More Bias: “Two Mercedes – left outside a nightclub and in a nearby street – were packed with nails, petrol and gas cylinders, but the devices were not detonated.”

They devices were not defused by police with only minutes to spare, no, the terrorists decided not to detonate the bombs out of concern for human life, just like on 21/7.

So will they stand up in court and say “I did it for the lolz your honour”.

“But that’s a position [that science is 100% right] that offers no ultimate comfort to either side of this debate. What we can say is right now most of the world’s science points to the fact global warming is real and we caused it. I report that.”

Forgive me but your response seems to me to be disingenuous. You claim just to report “world science” but you and your colleagues at the BBC and, to be fair, many other MSM journalists, appear not to report that there are reputable climate scientists who do not agree that “we caused it”. Furthermore and worse in my view, you do not report the consistent • and unscientific – failure of the IPCC to release all their source documentation into the public arena. One blog among many which you and other contributors to this thread may find interesting, is Climate Audit which, among other things, documents the difficulty of getting the raw figures behind the conclusions of the IPCC or even the process of reasoning from what raw figures are available to those conclusions.

Perhaps I’m being naive but I would have thought that it would be personally satisfying (indeed, almost a requirement for the job) for a “reporter” to be able to puncture the established view – consensus, if you like – by asking awkward questions of those propagating that view. But, on the contrary, it appears that you see your job as being a, more or less, passive medium for the science which (and you do not deny this) the BBC has decided is the last word on climate change “truth”. Unfortunately, although I personally appreciate your contribution to this blog, passivity is not necessarily impartiality. In your field, the reporting of science, passivity and acceptance of what I consider a spurious consensus (since the 2,600 or – according to Gore – 6,000 scientists are not all practising scientists, let alone climatologists) is the opposite of journalistic commitment to unbiased reportage.

Ken Livingstone on “Today” is criticised by an ex-Islamist for conflating and confusing Islam and Islamism: a fairly basic (and deliberate?) misunderstanding by our mayor who was doing his level best to maintain his support in London’s Moslem community. Livingstone also attempted to draw a parallel between organised and internationally supported Islamist terrorism (for whose apologists the mayor enthusiastically gives a platform) to the bombing some years ago of places frequented by gays by a lone white lunatic with (Livingstone alleges) extreme political connections.

Following the interview, on the Radio 4 News, the mayor is quoted as saying that we must not stigmatise the wider community of law-abiding Moslems in the UK with any connection with terrorism (or words to that effect). Since (at that time – I don’t know about now) the BBC affected to deny any knowledge of the religion or other affiliations of the bombers, why is a highly selective quote from the apologists’ apologist included in the “news”? Why does the BBC appear to require the wider community to grant the Moslem community special protection from any criticism? Does the BBC know something we don’t?

The BBC’s favotite British ex-diplomat (or joint favorite with Malloch Brown) wants us to look around us at who benefits from bombing London. It seems Islamist terrorists shouldn’t be pushed to the top of the list (or on the list at all).

Of course the last time a nail bomb was actually exploded among clubbers in Central London, it was by a homophobic fascist. So it is right to keep an open mind. But whoever did this, the only people who can possibly benefit are the vast and ever-burgeoning security industry of all kinds, and those who want discord between the Islamic World and the West.

I am saying we should not leap to the conclusion it was Islamic fundamentalists. It could be, or it could be other extremists, or interests, who benefit from the War on Terror.

ITs worth making the point, that it does not matter whether the BBC or the British government or the people of Britian that VOTED for it, blame the wider Muslim comunity or not.

Because Jihadists will and do blame the citizens of Britain and the USA anyway. This is why it is not a war against terrorism. It is in fact a war against democracy, which the west did not seek and have no real answer for.

BECAUSE THRE IS NO ANSWER at this time, and probelly at any time in the future either.

This war against democracy has been going on since democracy first took hold, with very varied and sometimes very open ended results.

We in the democracys have been at war of somekind far more then we have been living in a time of true peace.

A very accurate definition of war is that it is “only the gap between two or more wars.”

I fully expect this war to be still going on long after my grandchildren leave this world. War is a inevitable condition of mankinds progress and development.

Greater minds and statesmen then we have today have not been able to solve this deep seated almost Darwinistic human condition for 10s of thousands of years. We are clearly not suddenly going to learn how to avoid war any time even slightly soon.

This could be just as well.

It could even be argued that many past attempts to do so, have turned out to be more dangerous to the survival freedom and progress of mankind then war itself.

History also indicates that appeasement and long periods of relative peace, only result in bigger, more deadly and inhumain slaughter in the end.

Japan minister in atom bomb row
The nuclear bombs dropped by the United States on Japan in 1945 were the inevitable way to end World War II, Japan’s defence minister has said. “I think it was something that couldn’t be helped,” said Fumio Kyuma in a speech at a university east of Tokyo.
His comments sparked outrage from survivors of the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/6256840.stm

The BBC airs yet another story on this perceived war crime committed by the US against the innocent Japanese. (Anything to keep its anti-American bias on the burner)
Do a search on Hiroshima on the BBC and you get this.
    http://search.bbc.co.uk/cgi-bin/search/results.pl?q=Hiroshima&tab=ns&edition=d&recipe=all&start=1&scope=all

7 pages of news articles on Hiroshima. The total death toll of both bombings comes in at around the 200,000 mark.

Here is something the BBC never seems to point out just what kind of Evil Empire the Allies were faced with when they publish stories of Hiroshima .

    The Rape of Nanking
Between December 1937 and March 1938 one of the worst massacres in modern times took place. Japanese troops captured the Chinese city of Nanking and embarked on a campaign of murder, rape and looting. Based on estimates made by historians and charity organisations in the city at the time, between 250,000 and 300,000 people were killed, many of them women and children. The number of women raped was said by Westerners who were there to be 20,000, and there were widespread accounts of civilians being hacked to death.
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/39166.stm

So numerous stories from the BBC about how the yanks ended a war by nuking an evil empire. Which killed around 200,000 people. Yet a story about how between 250,000-300000 people were killed in 6 weeks during peace time by the Japanese garners 1 page. 7 articles of which 6 discuss if the genocide actually took place.

Yup the BBC really does report impartially.Just wondering when the BBC will start reporting that the Americans only kill civilians in its news reports .

    Silly me they already have;

More bullshit from Craig Murray. Our man in Samarkand before he got chucked out.

This time its his lame expose of the “truth” behind Lockerbie.

Basically his story is that as a Junior FCO wonk a college told him of a report that pointed the finger of Lockerbie at Syria not Libya …

On one occasion … , I was told something remarkable by a colleague in Aviation section.

At this time we suddenly switched from blaming Iran and Syria for the Lockerbie bombing to blaming Libya. This was part of a diplomatic drive to isolate Iraq from its neighbours in the run-up to the invasion. Aviation section were seeing all the intelligence on Lockerbie, for obvious reasons. A colleague there told me, in a deeply worried way, that he/she had the most extraordinary intelligence report which showed conclusively that it was really Syria, not Libya, that bombed the Pan Am jet, and that the switch was pure expediency.

I asked if I could see the report, and my colleague declined, saying this was too sensitive and dangerous; the report was marked for named eyes only. That in itself was extremely unusual – normally we would pass intelligence reports freely to each other, signing the register for them.

That is all I know. I never saw the report myself, and I do not know what it said, or why it was so conclusive. I am sorry to say it was such an incredibly busy time, we never discussed it again. I do not know, for instance, whether the intelligence contained an actual admission the charge aganst Libya was fake, or merely evidence that proved Syria did it (a communications intercept, for example). I suspect it will never be made public.

But the knowledge has remained with me ever since, and I was extremely sorry at the conviction of al-Magrahi. I do hope his appeal is successful. I am particularly impressed at the upright stand of Dr Swire and other victims’ representatives on this issue.

Now this all begs a few questions:

    (1) When Magrahi was convicted why didi Craig Muray not come forward with this information. (Claire Shortish morality there)

(2)If you are now telling us that Syria/Iran were involved what action against these 2 regiemes would you suggest that the British Government now take.

The BBC, The EUs relationship with Turkey and its hatred of America.

    EU ‘faces backlash from Turkey’
The European Union is risking an Islamic backlash in Turkey, according to the EU’s enlargement commissioner, Olli Rehn. A survey showed attitudes in the country souring towards the West.Mr Rehn told the European Voice weekly: “If you look at the current political situation in the Middle East, in Palestine, in Lebanon, not to speak of Iraq, we don’t need another nationalist or Islamist problem in the neighbourhood of Europe.” The survey revealed Turkish approval of Europe to be falling rapidly. Just 27% of Turks have a favourable opinion of the European Union, compared to 58% in 2004, according to this year’s annual global survey by the Pew Research Center.
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/6256880.stm
    The BBC reports on how the EUs procrastinations towards Turkey is slowly polarizing that country’s populace against the EU. So the story is about the EU and Turkey. Which is strange as the BBC ends with these comments on that article;

“According to the Pew survey, Turkey is currently the most anti-US country in the world.
Only 9% of the country favours the US, compared to 52% in 2000, putting Turkey below the Palestinian territories with 13% US approval, and Pakistan with 15%. In the United Kingdom, 51% approved of the US.
While 37% of Turks like American science and technology, according to the survey, 81% of Turks dislike American ideas about democracy, and 83% dislike American trade habits.”

    http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/5171/image2ui4.jpg

Since when has the US of A being a member of the EU. If anything the US actually is of the opinion that Turkey should be allowed to join. Yet the BBC instead launches into a tirade against the US which has nothing at all to do with the story.

“Time for another edition of Guess the Religion.”

    The S.U.V. Army?

The Self Burning Buddhists of Glasgow?

The Gas and Burning Order of the Mormon Church?

    Asian SUV Owners Club?

hmmm.. beats me. I simply cannot think of a religion that might do this. I mean, Islam is peace isnt it?

I’ve just listened to the BBC radio 4 reports on the Glasgow airport attack, in the PM programme. The BBC presenter (a woman by the name of Shah) was most anxious to stress that this is likely to be “just a police matter”, with no connection to the London car-bombs.

Does the BBC think it can keep reality at bay with its own verbiage?
