The BBC, the green issue and its hatred of America.
Europe push for greener aviation
Some of the biggest names in European industry have begun a public-private partnership with the EU to produce greener aircraft.
Airbus, Dassault, Saab and Rolls Royce are all taking part in the 1.6bn euro (£1.2bn) “clean sky” initiative. Half the money will be raised by the European Union and half by industry. EU Science and Research Commissioner Janez Potocnik said the investment would keep Europe at the cutting edge and help combat climate change

The BBC reports on a banding together of European industries in which to provide Greener aircraft. Ok. So if that is the case why does the BBC show a photo of the biggest plane in the world yet to fly with the caption ;
“Airbus has had long-running battles with US competitor Boeing”
Excuse me, but what has the above got to do with the story? But it gets better, nowhere in that story does the BBC point out that the greenest plane is in fact made by Boeing.. So why not show a picture of that, instead the BBC diverts the reader from the fact that these companies are in fact playing catch up with the Dreamliner
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/6282820.stm
Yet again the BBC allows its hatred of the US to seep through onto a nothing story.

Pounce: Yes and the fat corrupt EU lot are always going on about cutting CO2 emissions but the EU have actually done nothing. Yet the USA which hasn’t signed up to some pointless treaty HAS cut it’s CO” output.
However, don’t look for the BBC to tell you this.

Ben: Did you bother to watch or read? That was where THE BBC concentrated on the alleged British attack that killed several ANA soldiers. In fact none were killed, not that the BBC bothered to give thst the same prominance at the false claim.
Oh and the Beeboid was more worried by the Apache? Why? I bet the soldiers wre only too happy.

Magnificent! A sure-fire way to keep those annoying stories about early-flowering daffodils… http://www.haloscan.com/comments/patrickcrozier/4376966130741263702/?a=14380#383137 …(the cause of your recent demands) out of the news. And not at all invasive or monstrously bureaucratic, either!

Yes indeed, while Biodegradable is banned (Banned by webmaster. Your comments will not be added) Hillhunt is allowed to post to his heart’s desire!
While Andrew is AWOL perhaps the current “site owners” will reconsider and un-ban Biodegradable and do whatever they deem appropriate about Hillhunt.

Yes, please un-ban BioD.
I won’t pretend I agreed with his every word, but he was legal, decent honest and truthful and came a lot closer to putting his finger on genuine instances of the BBC failing to meet its standards than most here and always took the trouble to cite evidence.

Another vote for the reinstation of BioD from me.

John Reith and Sarah-Jane,
Thanks for that, I think. 😉

To discuss the American Elections today The Daily Politics called on Bonnie Greer a Democrat supporter and one Richard North-Patterson said to be a ‘friend of John McCain’ except he let slip that he was also a Democrat supporter.
I have emailed the BBC to ask what the chance of two Republicans being brought together on The Daily Politics to discuss anything.
If I get a reply I will let you know.
Even with the ‘token cuckoo in the nest’ (Andrew Neil) they just can’t help themselves.

John Reith,
Do you have a response to my post on this thread from 05.02.08 – 3:56 am?
It cites an example of a BBC headline that appears to contradict your defense of the BBC’s rationale for not employing headlines like “Palestinian militants bomb pizza parlour” while at the same time employing headlines like “Israel kills four in Gaza”.
