turkey and india suffered appalling terrorist attacks over the weekend.
itv teletext said the istanbul bombs were in a “working class” district.
the bbc described it as a district “popular with local people” ( as if it was Royston Veysey)
either way al beeb is left scratching it’s head as neither turkey nor india have troops in iraq or afganistan.
they wail and gnash their teeth “but how can it be that the ROP was involved?” they cry.
At least those people in India don’t have to pay the BBC £140 per year just so they can watch any other TV without getting a fine and a criminal record. They just get the insult. We get the injury too.

As I said in the Open Thread where others were discussing this, I think it’s right to mention the context of sectarian violence in India. That is to say, it should be okay to say, as the BBC does, that both sides have done some pretty nasty things. However, there is no excuse for hiding the perpetrators of the recent acts. If it’s part of an ongoing struggle, and the BBC mentions a past instance of Hindu mass murder of Muslims, then there is no reason not to mention that the Muslims hit them back. Again.
There is a long history of Hindu persecution of Muslims, beginning with the aftermath of the Partition. So as a minority that has been essentially under attack since Day One, Muslims are not acting in a vacuum.
This attack is not part of the same picture as the attacks of 7/7, or any attacks in Turkey or Kurdistan. This is a different conflict altogether.
But there’s no excuse for BBC hiding facts until they become inescapable. And there’s no excuse for forgetting to tell the audience just why it was that Hindus attacked Muslim the last time around.
The BBC doesn’t report that it’s Muslim violence, because you cannot be trusted with such facts.
Actually, with the muslim habit of self detonating on public transport can you blame them for trying t get rid of the self detonators?
One one hand they must be pretty happy that the majority of their problem buggered off to Pakistan. On the other hand they must be pretty pissed that pakistan contunies to help the murder of innocent Indians.

A BBC report on the recent Ahmedabad bombs concludes with:
Mr Modi has been accused of failing to protect Muslims in the riots in Gujarat during 2002 in which at least 1,000 people died, including many in Ahmedabad. The violence erupted when a fire broke out on a train carrying Hindu pilgrims, killing at least 59 people.
I suppose BBC had reported the American attack on Afghanistan in 2001 with something like:
The US invaded Afghanistan after the twin towers of the World Trade Center in NY collapsed after fire broke out killing over two thousand people.
Mysterious fires suddenly erupting in building and trains. So mysterious that even the BBC has no clue how or why the fires started. Truly astonishing.

All my Hindu friends have been saying to me for years that BBC is pro-Pakistan and anti-Indian.
One of them said that BBC has been taken over by Pakistani and Hindu Marxists.
After I started reading more of their Asian coverage, I tend to agree.
BBC is anti-Hindu, pro-Islamists and relatively mild, if ever critical of Pakistan.

Down here in the South of England, we can be trusted with certain facts: there’s been huge fawning coverage of a Muslim festival near Alton in Hampshire on both BBC South tv and Radio Solent. And every bulletin ends with: “…and organisers are very keen to show that Isalm is a religion of peace.”

yeah…but these are Ahmadis who are pretty moderate/peaceful. So much so that the Sunnis say they aren’t ‘real muslims’.
The Ahmadis are big into ‘interfaith-dialogue’ and recognize Jesus Christ, Buddha, Socrates and Confucius as prophets and the Sikh guru Nanak as a saint.
I think they’re firmly against all self-detonating practices.
Suggest BBC corrrespondents on India should read the following book (available in full, online here), on the history of Muslims in India, to reduce, hopefully the BBC’s Islamic bias:

Its a shame that most of the Indian media are doing the same thing especially NDTV,CNN-IBN etc.The fact is there is nothing like right wing media in India.The only Foreign news channel we get is BBC and Australia network.
NDTV is such a lame channel that when it comes to making money they put up Hindu mythology serials/Drama.
The funny thing is BBC is a free to air channel in India and across asia but you guys have to pay the taxes to keep them alive.
