QUESTION TIME WATCH

It’s Thursday night and for all you who take a perverse pleasure in watching the bias that is such a distinguishing feature of Question Time, let the fun begin. Tonight the programme comes from here in Northern Ireland – although I was not given an invite for some reason. The good news is that they do have an IRA gunman on the panel, so the scent of cordite should hang over the audience. With half-wits such as Arlene Foster and bumbling Ken Maginnis, along with Mark “Where’s my Party” Durkan, expect this one to even worse than normal.

if you watch Will Self his lips are always out of synchonisation with his words –and he also smothers other people in spittle a la Hattersley and Jamie Oliver..Perhaps it’s some affliction of the Left??

you keep blethering on about the IRA murderers. In the past.

People can be reformed you know – look at David ervine for instance – who was a truly towering figure – and ex terrorist.

Why wont you let it lie?

1998? 2008? Put yer bowler hat away or whatever NI proddy orange drum banging crap attempt at sectarian politics i can make…which i cant lol

You have to let things go my friend.

Maginis aint that bad though, at least they didnt have some sinn fein psycho like kelly or mclaughlin on.

I always thought the unionists lacked the “fire” of there opposition – i mean that in debating terms.

also would you have prefered gusty spence, mguiness, adams, ervine et al peeing out or out peeing in?

Because at one time they were sworn enemies who reformed – yes even adams and mcguinness.

It must be a bitter pill to swallow i imagine – but it happened.

WAAAYY after the fact, I know, but you lot clearly have stronger stomachs than I have. I haven’t been able to watch QT for years.

Maybe its ‘cos you all have each other to lean on during ‘the punishment’?

Anyway, I enjoyed your commentary (I know ….. who the f*** am I?).

    Cheers.

    Cameron,

Do you think I lack fire in my belly?

First, David Ervine was reprehensible scum. I have no respect in any way for him and the fact that he, a convicted bomber, was lionised in death sickens me. The organisation to which he belonged killed hundreds and your notion that he became a towering figure is risible.

I favour the execution of all terrorists, including those you name. I am not interested in appeasement of any hue of terrorist group.

SOME unionists have not been tamed.

    David,

I’m just wondering whether you genuinely understand ‘Conservative values’ or did the Conservative party just start in 1975 as far as you are concerned?

lol That was a brilliant thread, I forgot about live blogging here of question time, and of all weeks look what I missed.

David V. looks like you had a great time here. SF in the south aren’t agaist the Euro as far as I know, but I’ll stand corrected if they are. They are saying no to the Lisbon treaty which is not really about the Euro. hmmm…. not to worry, you were at your best in this thread.

Heard you on the radio yesterday – which if I may say so, was extremely interesting and yet you didn’t blog it.:( It was a good interview, one of your best on a subject were you were more than confident.

Wether or not you think my opinion isrisible is irrelevant – the facts are documented, David Ervine helped temper loyalist angst. Remember, he wasn’t mr adair or king rat, he was a true contributor to the peace protests.
Your opinions, are now resigned to history in the whole Ni debate – the war Is over, Catholics and Protestants are in power, would you rather there still be executions and bombings? What about a return to tit for tat killings and bombings from tthe provs and loyalists?

Just because you live in ni doesn’t always mean you have the right answers – mass executions for gods sake?

    No surrender?

    Gosh,

Thanks for the kind words. I was freezing in the car when I did the interview – most have helped me stay on topic!!

    Cameron,

I oppose appeasement. Is that concept too tough for you to gather? Ervine and his associates are covered in my recent book “Unionism Decayed”. They contributed nothing but pain, tears and misery, A despicable lot.

Of course it’s not hard for me to understand – i have met people with your opinions before. You always bring up the somme for instance.

And the “betrayal” of the RUC – some of which i agree with, but the police had to have catholics in it as well – hence NIPS -which yes,is a shite name isnt it?

Jibes aside – i would very much like to read your book, if you send me a copy i will donate the cover value to a charity of your choice?

    Is that appeasement or agreement?

I find Mark Steele quite funny because he really is thick. I don’t mean that he merely disagrees with my opinions: he is actually thick.

Well, Archduke, there are about the same number of taigs in my neck of the woods (Scotland) as there are protestants in NI – fancy a swap? That would end any sectarianism.

    Cameron,

I have never brought up The Somme! Lol – you have!

Second – 306 RUC officers were slaughtered by the same terrorist scum that now sit in power. Obscene.

Third – if you would like a copy of my book – which is an honest overview of my experiences in both political life and outside it – you are welcome to buy a copy from me. I will decide what to do with the profit. My email address is on my own website – A Tangled Web.

Agreed –Steele looked distinctly uncomfortable when Andrew Neil started talking the truth last night. Like most Lefties they wilt under the harsh light of reality. His philosophy is genuinely simple –give the chavs all your cash! Similar in that extent to Mr Brown

David, Ed, and other gracious admins here,

Have you considered using http://www.coveritlive.com/ or something similar for live commentary on things like QT? It’s more interactive than just using the comments area.

Iain, Tim and Guido use it very effectively for PMQ’s (with variations on the swearing levels between those sites of course).

    Don’t know, just a suggestion.

Adding to what Allan@Oslo said above to Archduke:
“Well, Archduke, there are about the same number of taigs in my neck of the woods (Scotland) as there are protestants in NI – fancy a swap? That would end any sectarianism.”

To add to the comment above, yes, it is true the Irish have a tendancy to travel.

The Irish workers supplied the great Port of Liverpool with workers, and helped to build the Manchester Ship Canal which was an incredible feat considering the spades and wheelbarrows they had to use.

One indication of this influx of workers is the Liverpool accent which is half Northern and half Irish. The same applies to the Isle of Mann. They have also influenced the accent in Manchester which is significantly different to that of Rochdale and the cotton towns only 20 miles away. In Manchester some people say ‘yous’ as the plural of ‘you’ as in: ‘Are yous coming?’ and this is the Irish influence.

And then the Irish went to America and ended up playing themselves in films in large numbers.

So, Irish people, you like to go to other countries but you don’t like other people in your country.

If the Irish had not escalated the conflict into terrorism and had just used peaceful politics, they could probably have had a united Ireland decades ago.

Why can’t the Northern Irish Protestants who like England and the Queen come over here? Then we could become a better and more patriotic nation.

The Irish Catholics who live here in large numbers and who also hate England could then go and live in the land they love so much.

Catholics who don’t hate the English would not be a problem.

When there is an international football match and England is out, England supports Ireland. Why don’t the Irish support us when they are out?

‘I was not given an invite for some reason.’

No, but they seem to invite you onto their programmes regularly, the left-wing bastards!

‘The good news is that they do have an IRA gunman on the panel’ – That would be the NI Minister for Regional Development, MP, MLA and representative of the second biggest political party in Northern Ireland – left-wing bastards!

So overall, that’s 2 unionists (3 if you count the Tory), 1 Sinn Fein, 1 SDLP, 1 Labour, 1 Conservative. And not a Lib Dem in sight – the left wing bastards!

Good work guys, keep it up.

No-one is claiming that people like David Vance never appear on Question Time.
The point is they try to keep people with his views to as little appearances as they can get away with, hence he was not on the last programme.

On the other hand, other people whom the BBC like, are on all the time as regulars.

Maybe under pressure of losing the licence the BBC will become less bias in the future. Blogs all over the internet are making them look ridiculous at present. They must curse the day the internet was invented. The internet to the BBC is like the cold weather is to the Man-made Global Warmists.

Are you seriously claiming that the proportion of Q Time panelists with certain views in any way matches the proportion of MPs with those views, or the proportion of the population with those views?

The only way someone could think that is the case is if they live in the BBC world itself.

I believe David Vance himself has been on(?), plus Norman Tebbit a number of years ago, plus Enoch Powell(?)

Whenever Norman Tebbit was on, the ratings soared.

It is not just Shirley Williams and her friends all the time. Remember we have free speech. It is just that some people have more free speech than others.
