Its the BBCs day today alright, wall to wall hero worship of the obamessiah that blocks out the disaster engulfing the UK, champagne bottles strewn around the BBC HQ tonite no doubt.
Two birds with one stone, the BBC comrades dancing with joy and the NULAB on site censors happy and contented, drinks all round tonite indeed!
Then its back to the lies and spin driven drivel that the BBC has become so famous for.

More unadulterated, unalloyed Obamamania – this posted this afternoon on the “science and environment” part of the website.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/7792171.stm
A “reporter” called Julian Siddle(AGW/Obama groupie)drools with joy that Obama will be following the EU’s disastrous cap-and-trade CO2 policy.
The item quotes a “screenwriter” (one of the BBC’s favoured leftie groups): (He)…says one of the most surprising answers was to a question about future policy on greenhouse gas emissions.
In his response, Barack Obama outlined a policy known as “cap-and-trade”, a proposal similar to the the EU’s Emission Trading Scheme (ETS).
The plan would see permits to pollute being auctioned, with the money raised used to develop effective renewable energy systems and protect wildlife habitat.
“Potentially the cap-and-and system could bring in trillions of dollars, and it should be easier to restructure energy law as they’re already in restructuring mode,” says Mr Otto.
That would be the policy, would it, that eurosceptics say is totally useless and unnecessary, will cost billions, force EU industries to re-locate elsewhere and plunge millions across the EU into fuel poverty?
But the most blataant piece of propaganda is a picture of an African woman, wading nose deep in flood water with a baby on her shoulders.
The caption? “Some climate change campaigners say the new president must not waste any time” (in tackling AGW).
This would leave even Goebbels gasping with disbelief.

Obama couldn’t even get the oath right. Perhaps he needed a Teleprompter?
Funny that if that had been Bush the BBC would be making jokes about it.

Martin is right. Haven’t we had several years of ‘Bush is a moron’ from the BBC on account of his verbal mistakes?

According to a good source, the BBC is offering generous relocation packages to staff moving from London to the new broadcasting and production base in Salford. BBC staff will be gauranteed a house purchase scheme and a raft of financial incentives, including up to £3000 for “curtains and carpets…”. Any of the 1630 employees that currently get London weighting will also be allowed to keep the payments, despite moving outside the capital. The details emerged after a freedom of info request by the press association, although the BBC witheld a number of details under FOI exemptions, citing “commercial interests”.

The BEEB seemed to have forgotten the run on the £ today, it came in as a very short secondary announcement way way after Obamamania.
The BEEB employees neen’t worry as they aren’t anywhere near the reality of commerce – perhaps a short sabbatical in a small business selling something useful might give these Leftie idealists a reality kick up the arse.

“It lived up to the billing that it might be quite sober.”

Frankos – The fall in the pound was second item on R4’s news at 6pm; just after the inauguration. Peston
The fact that he stumbled on the oath was the second thing the news reader mentioned in relation to the inauguration (and they replayed it).
As for uninspiring, well most of the blowhards at The Cornhole quite liked it. See here – http://corner.nationalreview.com/
And here:
Speechmaking & Service [Pete Hegseth]
Congratulations and Godspeed to President Barack Obama; may his service in the coming four years serve to better this great country.
His speech was excellent, and as Cliff May mentioned, could have—in large part—been given by John McCain, George W. Bush, and Ronald Reagan. It sounded many historic, traditional, and entrepreneurial themes which have always been the bedrock of this country.
President Obama re-affirmed the threat we face, and our need to defeat it—signaling that we will continue the Bush policy of treating radical Islam as an enemy, not a police action. He also called for individual action, not government solutions, in light of the economic ills we face. May these words continue to guide his administration.
Finally, as a soldier and veteran, it was deeply appreciated to hear President Obama describe military service and sacrifice as “embody(ing) the spirit of service.” In past speeches on service he has failed to even mention military service, yet here, he made it the centerpiece of his call for national service. Job well done and well spoken.
And yet, the BBC still don’t investigate whether or not Malcolm X is his dad.

mikewineliberal: Do you really think the BBC will call it an ‘Obamaism?’
I think not. Obama is clearly a moron as he stumbled over his words SEVERAL times. bush was called a moron for this, so Obama is as well.
The BBC spin the lie that Obama is a good speaker. No he isn’t. He can read a good Teleprompter, but so what? So can a moron like George Clooney. Does that qualify him to be President?
As soon as Obama has to speak off the cuff he comes across as an idiot. He forgets names and stumbles over his words.
The BBC ridiculed Bush for it time and time again.
So I will for Obama.

The BBC has been ignoring this story all day long, it has been coming a very poor second to the omnipresent Obamamania. To me the collapse of the pound might be slightly more important to the UK than the inevitable USA coronation. Compare this to Bush’s inauguration.

Bush is not the enemy some make him out to be, nor the bumbling idiot we wish him to be, but Obama can be a new kind of president. One who thinks before he speaks. Who listens to both sides of an argument. Who uses his brains before his fists. He will move to the centre I am sure, and he will make some very unpopular decisions, that goes with the territory given the current problems. But this is the sort of president that only gets elected in Hollywood – an intelligent and articulate guy. The 08 election was the first that I can recall wasn’t about choosing the lesser of two evils. McCain was an excellent candidate too – but hope needed to win over fear, and in the end, the unpopularity of the republicans won it for obama.
Obama’s rise to the top can immensely improve race relations, or worsen then, but I like to be optimistic. Obama has shown that black men can be elected to the highest office, and his election removes a lot of the myths and negativity about American government. anti-Americanism will be harder with his election; there will be no more Bush to hide behind for those whose agenda is really anti-American.
who knows how it will all turn out. I hope for the best.

“I know,” said the political editor of BBC Online. “Let’s put that lovely AP library picture of Gordon and Obama smiling at each other on the front page of the Politics section. This will show our readers that Obama respects Gordon and regards him as a big-time player. You can add sepia tones to it if you like. We’ll then cherry-pick a Downing Street press release in which Gordon pays tribute to Obama. We’d better get quotes from Lord Snooty and Cable – don’t bother with Clegg – to give the article some semblance of balance, but make sure you big up Gordon.”

A. The BBC.

No, not a BBC reporter, of course, in this investigation of the E.U.; and politically inconvenient for BBC to report:
“Justice for the reporter who dared take on Brussels” (Daniel Hannan)
[Extract]:
“A blow was struck for freedom this week. Hans-Martin Tillack, a German journalist who had been detained by the EU after investigating Brussels fraud, was definitively cleared by the courts. The Belgian government, whose police had raided Tillack’s flat, was ordered to pay damages and costs.
“Tillack was, for several years, the EU correspondent of the respected German magazine, Stern. Before he arrived, the press corps in Brussels had largely been made up of true believers. Copy was routinely submitted to Commission officials for approval; negative stories were suppressed; any criticism of the EU, even on narrow grounds of financial probity, was dismissed as populist. ”

BBC Silent about being Terrorized in Gaza: Discretion or Cowardice?
Israeli media reports that Hamas took over the first floor of the building that the BBC offices in Gaza last night and fired rockets from there, trapping the journalists above. Despite the fact that their reporters have now escaped the building, the BBC has so far not said anything about this.
When I was interviewed on the BBC last week…

So now we’re being disrespectful to the leader of the free world? After 8 years (count them) of vile, hateful, mean-spirited personal insults to George W Bush?
Let me tell you how much respect I gave the new man: I heard that over the weekend Obama received on average 9 hours of coverage while Bush’s farewell speech clocked up 53 seconds. So, to be absolutely fair to Obama I watched the inauguration for exactly 53 seconds.
PS Funny how “white wine liberals” can dish it out but can’t take it. And for the record: I hope for all our sakes that Obama is successful. The alternative is too horrible to consider.

I think Bush got a few things wrong. Invading Iraq and Afghanistan was a mistake. Bush was a good man. Bush was let down by many around him and Europe. I don’t think Obama will make that mistake. Europe is run by mostly snake oil salesmen.

TURKEY.
This BBC report, necessarily sticks to the joint political line of the British Labour government- the European Union- Turkey’s Islamic government, of campaigning for the earliest possible entry of the 75 million Muslim Turks into the E.U. (with over 1 million to the U.K., most to London):
“Turkey tries to revive EU drive”
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/7837145.stm
BUT, the BBC’s reporter in Turkey, Ms. Rainsford, OMITS reference to the Islamic, and Islamic jihad-supporting, anti-semitic nature of Turkey, as shown this past week:
‘Poligazette’:
“Turkey’s Erdogan going Anti-Semitic”
[Extract]:
“Turkey’s Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has often shown his true Islamist colors during his years in office, but nothing quite like his behavior and words since Israel decided to attack Hamas eighteen days ago.
“He made his first unacceptable public statement when campaigning in a small Turkish village. He told a friendly crowd that “God will punish” Israel and that its actions would lead to its destruction.
“The second time he went way overboard in public, Erdogan did not merely show himself as being fiercely anti-Israel, as every Islamist is, but even as an anti-Semite.”
http://www.poligazette.com/2009/01/13/turkeys-erdogan-going-anti-semitic/
‘Jerusalem Post’:
“Erdogan: Bar Israel from the UN”
http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=JPost/JPArticle/ShowFull&cid=1232100160225
And even the BBC’s Ms. Rainsford, in the past week, under the guise of a typically bland headline hints at some of the reasons why Turkey should NOT be allowed into the E.U. and so NOT speed up the the Islamization of Europe and Britain, which is being politically engineered:
“Turkey rallies to Gaza’s plight”
[Extract}:
“Anger at Israel has at times spilled over into anti-Semitism. Israeli diplomats say protesters delivered a petition on Tuesday calling for the expulsion of all Israelis from Turkey and warning that they have a list of Jewish business people to circulate.
“Graffiti on one city wall reads: ‘We don’t want you in Turkey. Whore. Zionists. Scum.’
“Angry themselves at Turkey’s attitude, Israelis have reportedly cancelled business and tourist trips here.”

In fairness, it wasn’t Obama who stumbled over the oath, it was the chief justice who was swearng him in who got it wrong. Obama knew what he had to say and waited for the justice to get it right.
Otherwise, the whole media thing was sickening, all behaving like teenagers meeting a pop idol. Obama’s speech seems to promise world peace (beauty queen style), big government and windmills.

Watch the BBC’s dialectic writhings over the next few weeks, especially Andrew Marx, as they try to explain how important Gordon really is and why Obama didn’t get round to seeing him until April, long after he met just about everyone else.
Personally, and I do hope I’m proved wrong, I think we’re watching a re-run of Jimmy Carter but this time appearing in an episode of the black and white minstrel show. Gosh, wasn’t it the BBC that used to run that.

Meanwhile that filth Brown knows the games up.
A spokesman said: “We wouldn’t attach too much importance to who has what meetings when. The important thing is whether or not you share the same values and have similar approaches and are able to work together on challenges.” He was “not sure” whether Mr Brown was watching Mr Obama’s full inauguration speech live on television.
The spokesman said: “He is very focused on doing his job as British Prime Minister.”

Turkey !
Haven’t quite followed your links yet, but Erdogan was very Islamic and anti-semitic when he was Mayor of istanbul.
His latest outburst is not unexpected.
He has spent the last few years undermining the secular Turks in the civil service, universities, schools, media etc.
By very brutal methods. Many decent people’s lives ruined by this man.
He is trying it with the Turkish military, partly because they are secular, also because they are pro-Israeli.
Not obvious what the outcome will be, but anyone who underestimates the Turkish Military is making a mistake.
