I see the BBC are also playing down the two Labour pigs caught shagging in the Commons.

Now I seem to remember the BBC having quite a good laugh when it turned out Curry was shagging Major.

The BBC also played down 5 bellies Prescott for his on the job humping as well.

Save Gordon? I see Jacqui Smith’s blue movies have yet to find their way on to the BBC News webisite. I wonder if a member of the other party was thus rumbled whether there would be outburst of ‘Tory Sleaze’ type headlines.

My mistake – UK page leading on Jacqui Smith – However, no mention of the nature of the, er, entertainments, to which the Smiths subscribed.

archduke – you nailed it. The BBC is soooo reluctant to tell us the truth.

    now they’ve changed it to

    “Smith’s husband sorry over films”

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/

you have to bear in mind that the headline IS important , for its the headline that gets syndicated worldwide to news aggregation sites such as Google News.

While “soothes” is a pretty odd choice of words, considering as how this is only an effort to “soothe”, and no “soothing” seems actually to have occurred, why is the BBC so cavalier about the Prime Minister of a country getting involved in private business deals? Again?

The nonchalance with which Darling and the Beeboids are saying that government will be arranging financial sales of businesses is way too creepy.

that Hannan speech just got mentioned on Fox News radio. they’re covering it at the bottom of the hour.

different angle though – Hannan’s speech is more a message for Obama than Brown.

from the comments on Hannans blog
    – he’s getting a lot of adoration from America – this has gone viral over there too..

“ABSOLUTLEY BRILLIANT MR. HANNAN. I WATCHED EVERY INTERVIEW ON FOX – (CAVUTO, BECK, HANNITY). YOU ARE A SUPERSTAR. RUSH CAN NOT STOP TALKING ABOUT YOU – AND WHEN THAT GOES TO 20,000,000 LISTENERS – YOU ARE MORE POPULAR THAN PRES. OBAMA.”

    thats Rush Limbaugh.

wow. if Hannan loses his MEP seat (thanks in no part to the dreadful “list” system), at least he’ll have a job at the Heritage Foundation or the Cato Institute!

    http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/daniel_hannan/blog/2009/03/25/my_speech_to_gordon_brown_goes_viral?com_num=20&com_pg=25

here’s hoping Hannan defects to UKIP – the list system means we cannot vote for the guy directly. an utter disgrace.

i’d vote for the guy in a nanosecond.

Well done! I wish we had some US politicians who were half as eloquent, half as articulate, and spoke half the substance as was given in this 3.5 minute delivery; and to top it off, you have the charm of British accent.

Hey y’all, from across the pond! I came to give a standing ovation and beg Mr. Hannan to defect and come to America. We need more politicians with the cajones to tell it like it is. Ours are politically correct little sheeple who wouldn’t dare dissent from their lord Obama. Come experience the southern hospitality that I’m sure you’ve heard of. You’d be treated like royalty here in the conservative parts of America, since you’re already a legend! Keep up the good work Mr.Hannan. 🙂

The “old media” people are like the dinosaurs. They did not see the internet “metor” coming. Could do nothing as it hit and can’t do anything about it after it hit.

Finally, a politician with common sense. Can we import him to the US? His words could just as easily be spoken in our congress.

  20. Jack Hughes says:

    Nationwide takes over Dunfermline

“The Nationwide is to buy the Dunfermline Building Society’s branches, good loans and deposits, it has been confirmed.”

This does not add up – I had to think about for a few minutes. For a bank, a loan is an asset. Its a bit of paper that will earn interest and be redeemed for the principal in the future. A branch is quite clearly an asset as well. But a deposit is a liability.

So to mention all 3 in the same sentence like they do is really bad, thoughtless journalism. Amateurish.
