Likewise for the Guantanamo detainees. The Toynbees and Cherie Booths of this world should provide accommodation and food for them as well as acting as guarantors of good behaviour. If the released ‘innocents’ were to kill, then the guarantors take the prison time.
Not such a good idea, Allan. Having to share a house with Polly or Cherie would be enough to make anyone feel suicidal…
There would be no need for individual sponsorship. The Brits are furious with the Govt’s decision, there is widespread public support for the purely moderate levels of Ghurkha immigration. A handful of thousands.
It is a debt of honour. Aword some people evidently don’t understand.
