    ‘Cranmer’:

“Queen’s Trinity Cross honour deemed unlawful because it offends non-Christians”

    [Extract]:

“Cranmer is weary – although he be but ashes – and bears his burden of suffering Job-like. He is in black dog mode, depressed at the preponderance of corruption in high places, and sick at heart with the systematic eradication of the Christian culture of the United Kingdom.”

“…The cross insignia is becoming illegal. This insidious agenda is destroying almost two millennia of British Christian history. Cleansing the nation of its Christian references in order to placate the non-believers is a quest which can have no logical end until Christendom be expunged altogether.

“Perhaps Her Majesty might protest? Or the Archbishop of Canterbury? Or the BBC? Or the Prime Minister?

“Ah, no. For the onslaught is against the faith which dare not be expressed.” (‘Cranmer’.)

“‘No PM impropriety’ on expenses” trumpets the BBC’s website tonight, seizing on a fragment of the Telegraph’s revelations in a vain attempt to shield ZaNuLabour and its leader from the public fury, which is the least they deserve.

Nothing illustrates the BBC mindset and agenda than the BBC ‘the record europe’ programme, as the eurotrash commissars get ready to pack up ready for the elections, the progamme was about the vote on the banning of seal pruducts, the Tories were portrayed as isolated and out of touch by ‘supporting’ the trade, the inuit peoples who will bear the brunt were thrown some crumbs and it was made clear thay should be grateful!
The dialogue guests were socialist/green/limdem and the socialist actually said “it doesnt matter what they(inuit)say”, Oooh so thats alright then eh?
Populist nonsense to end the season by highlighting the left as saviours of the cuddly seals, never mind that unculled the consequences will be catastrophic for both seals and hard pressed poor comunities.
The sheer arrogance of the leftist/green guests and their ‘let them eat cake’ pontificating left me feeling quite sick.
The whole show was designed to show the left as mainstream, representing the popular will and the right as extremist’ desperate to protect the nasty seal murderers and isolated, all lumped together as fringe by the last guest, a mouthpiece of a leftist thinktank lobby group(quelle surprise).

The BBC are under orders to showcase the left before the elections, the pathetic excuses of a low turnout wont wash anymore!

word ver: ‘noncy’ Couldnt have put it better myself.

The bBC reporting on crime in Venezuela and half the story.

Venezuelans aim to kick crime outAsk most residents of Caracas what the city’s biggest problem is, and the vast majority will say “crime”. Official figures show a huge increase in violent crime in the Venezuelan capital over the past decade, reaching a total of 130 murders per 100,000 population last year compared to 63 per 100,000 in 1998. Caracas is now Latin America’s most violent major city, having overtaken the likes of Medellin, Rio de Janeiro and Mexico City in recent years…………………………..
President Hugo Chavez has said he will make the high crime rates in Venezuela his priority ahead of elections in 2012.
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/8008795.stm

Good to see that the bBC’s socialist poster boy. (Hates America, loves Iran, loves nationalisation) has made crime his priority .Thing is from which side of the fence. The bBC reports that violent crime has risen somewhat in the past ten years. And when did Hugo come to power? 1999.

    Just watched Andrew Marr’s ‘show’.

I think the time has come when what a Government talking head does or ‘doesn’t think’ isn’t worth the till receipt it could be written upon.

So we have from Mr. Miliband that climate change is bad (seems fair) and man-made (didn’t know that). Plus some other waffly platitudes, especially how ‘we’ can do our bit.

Leading by example, it might have been worth asking how many LCD TVs should we be ordering for our second homes from China then?

And if a programme one hopes is designed to shine a light on key issues has a ‘clean’ Green and a coal-fired Labour Minister trading totally at odds ‘facts’ on nuclear with no resolution, Lord help the planet my kids will already be unable to afford to live upon.

Hazel Blears was interviewed on BBC TV this morning. As far as I can tell, this is what the interviewer said:

“… I mean basically what you’ve seen what’s in the papers today I mean what have you got any … sort of reaction to it and you’ve been accused of sort of flipping is that the term?

I mean the moral sort of thing I think that’s the issue sort of you know Lord Carey’s come out with that it’s just the whole moral issue of it that you know quite hard isn’t it for members of the public to sort of see understand that that’s been as it has been since years and years and that is how since people have claims and have has been sort of ….”

Perhaps the BBC should employ John Prescott.

    BBC report (‘Middle East’ webpage):

“Pope tells of ‘respect’ for Islam”.

But, in the concluding words of that report, the BBC does not gives the reason why this is happening:

..”the rapidly diminishing minority Christian community in the Middle East.”

Meanwhile, ‘Infidels are cool’ site has:

“Taliban threaten The Pope over conversion of muslims to Christianity”

    [Extract]:

“What a shock, a muslim jihadi group threatening a ranking leader of another faith over their victims leaving islam.” (infidelsarecool.com).

BBC new series "South Pacific" gets carried away with its socialist idealism & eco-loonery.

    1. A really tiny island is praised for its communal, sharing society which is "completely self sufficient" & "living within its resources", despite the logoed T shirts & metal goods.
    This is contrasted with
    2. Easter island where the over exploitation of its natural resources led to war & strife.

    Justin Webb in today’s Independent:

“I was very rude about Sarah Palin which upset some people. I just thought she was a hopeless candidate at that time in American history and I said so on the blog. Is that acceptable? I think probably on balance it is but you have to be careful,” he says. Not much room for doubt there.

He also claims that no reader of his blog could regard him as “an Obama fellow traveller”. I beg to differ.

Wonderful bit of irony – the election of Obama, the candidate he and the rest of the BBC wanted to win, has scuppered his chances of getting an American publisher for his book:

The BBC man is frustrated that he has been unable to find an American publisher for his book, with New York publishers doubting the notion that “Anti-Americanism” exists any more. “From their point of view, from their miserably wizened perspective they think that Barack Obama has been elected so the rest of the world will love us. It’s disappointing not to be on sale in America.”

The bBC, the fall in adult education and half the story.

    Adult learners ‘lowest since ’97’

The proportion of adult learners in the UK is at its lowest level since Labour came to power, a survey suggests.A study among nearly 5,000 people found those in the highest socio-economic groups were twice as likely to study as those in the poorest. The National Institute of Adult Continuing Education which ran the survey, says the results are worrying. The government rejects the findings, saying “results from Niace surveys have been fairly volatile over the years”.
According to the study, there is a “widening gap between the educationally privileged and the educationally excluded”.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/education/8038412.stm

The bBC reports that the government is worried about the drop in adults seeking to improve themselves.

What is a real shame is that bBC report forgets to mention that the main reason why people are no longer going to night school like they used to is because this government hiked up the prices from what used to be around £25 to over £230 for a simple GCSE.http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/education/4363698.stm

    Pounce,

The is also the age old truism that the educated generally are not poor and the poor are generally uneducated. Those who were poor and become richer generally do it through hard work and education. So it is hardly a suprise that the poor are half as likely to study.

The main problem with adult education in the UK since Labour came to power has been the reduction in courses and the emphasis on GCSEs. It is now quite difficult in many areas to find, say a Spanish class, that is of sufficient rigour that isn't tied to a qualification (hence the added cost). Many folk don't want to take exams and are happier just to be learning. But that doesn't tie in with the Govts obsession with targets and A-C pass league tables.

When you add in all the H&S, diversity and equality bullshit redolent in New Labour's education policy it is not suprising to find that people become less inclined to teach never mind learn. So the adult classes dwindle, the schools close and the motivated poor find it even harder. Classic socialism!

And another thing, they have also pushed out many of the amateur teachers, the ones who taught conversational German or motor mechanics for beginners etc, by insisting that adult educators were qualified teachers. Cue shortage of teachers ….

Thanks for posting the link to the Indy interview with Justin Webb.

What a smug creep that man is !

He openly declares that he took a dislike and disapproval to Palin from the start, and then showed his animus right through the campaign. A perfect description of BBC bias ?

And there is a throwaway line about George Bush – also showing his evident contempt for his “lack of education”. De haut en bas BBC attitude that is actually factually wrong – Bush had betterresults than Kerry and I would not be surprised if he was brighter than Webb.

And what makes it all worse is the notion that Webb’s place in the US will be taken by Mark Mardell.

    DB and JohnA,

Justin Webb forgot to mention the time that he said that Sarah Palin was unfit to be a VP because of his own interpretation of her religious belief. That’s beyond rude. He also lies when he claims to believe in impartiality.

As for his replacement, at least Mardell never called me a “teabagger”.
