Hope you’re all tuned in and watching Nicky Campbell’s “Big Question”. Coming up on the programme “Can Gays be cured?” – Peter Tatchell is on the panel so there should be loads of balance. Then “Is there life after death?” – Church of England synod member on to cover that one of and then finally “Is Prison a waste of time?” – I see Yasmin Alibi Brown from the Guardian on to cover that! So balanced.
THE BIG QUESTION!

Something that I would like someone to ask Peter Tatchell, ultra left member of the Green party. How does he manage to travel the world to take part in all these "Gay Pride" marches? His party leader, Ms Lucas, has said that air travel is as immoral and dangerous as gun crime. Peter turned up in Russia at a Pink Pride rally during the recent election campaign, but was back in Blighty the next day. I'm guessing that he doesn't own a magic carpet.

Pedants corner: though I realise the argument of this excellent piece remains totally unaffected by this minor detail (it might actually be strengthened), I believe the fragrant Yasmin spouts her guff mainly for the laughably titled "Independent" these days.

The three pillars of Russian culture are dedovschina (translated into English as "bullying" though more accurate words are torture and persecution), misery, and Orthodoxy.

Did they have lots of Muslims on this morning explaining how they love homosexuals? I'm betting there wasn't a towelhead or suicide bomber to be found.

the BBC seem to have a list-a very SHORT list-of resident lefties which they wheel out on a rotating basis for various tv programmes

Mark Byfords pension is nominaly over £620 a day, every day of the year. FFS how do you manage to spend £620 a day? On what? A table at the Ivy for two every day of the year? Move permanently into the Ritz at £300 a day? Within a year he will look like Mr Creosote in Monty Pythons Meaning of Life.
A bucket for Mr Byford. Just one one more, its only wafer thin, oh go on, just one…..
What sort of insanity is this from a public broadcaster. What does he do for us that makes him worth any more than a dud pound coin?

I believe Byford's main task is to act as Editor-in-Chief on behalf of the D-G.
So – he is in charge of BBC bias.
And gets grand bonuses apparently linked to the level of bias he can get away with.

You forgot the time he tried to do a 'citizen's arrest' on Mugabe. It was hilarious seeing Mugabe's goons piling on top of him (no doubt he got a big thrill out of it).
About the only time I think I have favoured Mugabe…oh, that and the time Jack Straw 'didn't see him in the shade' and shook his hand 'by mistake'…

David – but this is exactly how the BBC "debate". They don't even know the meaning of the word. Every sensible person knows that a debate looks at "two sides" of an agrument and then reaches a conclusion on the merits or otherwise of the arguments put forward.
The way the BBC "debates" is to put one side of an argument and dares anyone to challenge it on pain of being set upon by the crowd. Meaning those who agree will be able to take part in the "debate" while those who don't will keep silent. It is the most appaling attack on democratic thought.

If any of you find out what Byford does – pls can you let us at the BBC know?
Cheers
