AND STILL IT COMES..

The BBC has gone mega-hysterical on AGW in the run up to not so wonderful Copenhagen. This morning, Today had Saint Bob Geldof on claiming that global warming had caused crime in Ethiopia as well as the Cockermouth floods. On the BBC1 Breakfast programme this morning the debate was all about getting people to accept that they will have to fly less if we are to save the world. Drip, drip, drip – this is the insidious evil of the BBC in action, propagandising, not reporting.

Many good points raised by posters on the blog.

25: “I am a scientist, and have been a professional researcher for more than 20 years, and one of the most disturbing part of the contents that have been revealed is the seeming perversion of the scientific process undertaken by the people mentioned. Science is all about transparency, openness and repeatability. When new work is published we need to be able to examine how the conclusions were reached. That means access to the data & codes and the ability to publish papers which either agree or disagree with the original work. There is information in those e-mails which brings into question this process in relation to those involved in producing the work referred to.

But I don’t want to get into a debate about what the e-mails actually mean, the point is it should not be individuals or bloggers that have to do this analysis alone. The reason I was posting here was to point out the woeful reporting, and in my opinion deliberate burying of the full story here at the BBC.”

Can any AGW believer deny the truth of this message?

Says it all really. Perhaps not quite in the way intended.

Perhaps the suggestion is only Guardian CiF readers should have access to the fruits of the unique funding that is the licence fee?

Makes sense if the reporting is designed exclusively to satisfy that audience.

      Hardly very democratic, though.

I think we should stop paying the licence fee and say that it is due to climate change (since TVs produce CO2)

The BBC are desperate and getting even more so by the day.

So how will the BBC cut back on flying done by its staff?

There is not a single shred of enidevce that Band Aid or Live Aid money was diverted in any sense, it could not have been While I find most people working in humanitarian aid of exceptional high moral stature, it is this mentality of it could not have been that is the most worrying. This is why the WFP Somalia scandal, combined with the focus of Transparancy International on humanitarian aid can be very helpful to build better systems. In this aspect I find NGOs and UN-agencies more mature than some donors.

so whilst us proles have to fly less, it’s considered perfectly alright for high-ranking government officials, beeboids and world leaders to jet off to exotic and not-so exotic places at the drop of a hat to talk about the effects (or lack of) ‘climate change’ is having on the planet.

Can’t say I’m surprised though at that way of thinking

You might want to know that Bonehead not just flies by private jet he owns a company (along with his U2 band members) that provides private jets for hire.

I’m glad someone else heard the Geldof interview on Today this morning. It was on in the kitchen while I made breakfast and afterwards I wondered if I had dreamed the whole thing but it seems I didn’t.

In short Geldof said that Ethiopia had been in a drought situation since 1985 and that the people have had to survive on charities (sorry NGO’s) feeding them since then. It never appeared to have entered his tiny little mind that flooding the local markets with handout food may have driven the price of essentials down to well below what the farmers can produce it for may have stopped farmers from bothering to grow anything. Geldof then blamed this on climate change before starting on a strange rambling speech where he told how the lack of seasons had made the locals change the names of months but how further climate change had made them change them back again ! So you can see why I doubted what I had heard.

Even the interviewer sounded a little confused and embarassed during this keep dragging Geldof back to climate change. Yet never asked what evidence Geldof had for this remarkable claim.

Perhaps the single most bizarre piece of radio I have heard in 2009.

I do fly less.  Far less apparently than the average beeboid appears to.  I also seem to drive a smaller car, eat less often in restaurants and go on less junkets (none actually), and generally live on less money.  I’d even go as far as to say I have a smaller carbon footprint than Bob Geldoff.  I am sick of being preached at by BBC apparatchiks.

Geldof is right. AGW definitely has caused crime:  in East Anglia, Brussels, Washington, DC, and White City, among other places.  The evidence is pretty clear on that.

Obviousley the BBC think that Saint Geldof is much more qualified than this person

Frank J. Tipler, professor of mathematical physics at Tulane University, on the true significance of Climategate:

“The now non-secret data prove what many of us had only strongly suspected — that most of the evidence of global warming was simply made up. That is, not only are the global warming computer models unreliable, the experimental data upon which these models are built are also unreliable. As Lord Monckton has emphasized here at Pajamas Media, this deliberate destruction of data and the making up of data out of whole cloth is the real crime — the real story of Climategate. ”

The BBC use their favourite celebreties for propoganda – “glittering personalities” – they are not trying to convince educated people just the masses of Celebrity Come Dancing viewers.

The population of Ethiopia back in 1984 when Geldof first heard of the place was 35 million. Today, it is 77 million. How exactly do Geldof and the BBC manage not to know that?

Population debate is not one of the areas the BBC likes to favour very much.

Hence, with its unique reporting hat on, it therefore manages to not know very much about this aspect of the narrative it is less keen to enhance.

To expect the MSM to really investigate this corruption of science is not going to happen. Sky are as much up the backside of the climate change mob as the BBC.

There has hardly been a murmour about this corruption of science this weekend.

Only the scientific community can put their house in order, I’m sure there are thousands of scientists disgusted with what has gone on with the climate change lobby. There has been no proper vetting of the so called evidence put forward by the eco loons on the left.

Science needs to clean house, all the data has to be made public and a proper debate within the scientific community must take place. Forget the camp males at the BBC, they are not interested, even the very camp Tory spokesman on climate change was as wet as a teenage girls knickers at a JLS gig.
