I am not aware of even one ‘Jew’ in the Jerusalem office who has gone on the record as stating ‘I am a Jew’. The BBC has never acknowledged that there may be Jews in the office. Please direct me to any evidence to the contrary.
It is possible that some may have parents or grandparents who as part of their communist ideology renounced Judaism in favour of atheism or married non Jewish spouses and raised their children with no contact to Judaism. How does that make them useful Jews?
Glitch my arse! You only have to compare the original and edited version to see that it had to be deliberate. He couldn’t have accidentally have left out “for Palestinians” the first time, or he wouldn’t have put it in the second sentence.
“As the debate rages on over BBC bias in its Israel coverage, two Jewish journalists were this week appointed to join the corporation’s reporting team in Jerusalem,” Totally Jewish said.
“Tim Franks will take up the role of a Middle East correspondent while Katya Adler will leave her current posting in Madrid to become a Middle East reporter. A BBC spokesman told the Jewish News: ‘Both are extremely experienced and talented correspondents who will continue the excellent work that is synonymous with the bureau.’ He added: ‘I also think it opportune to note that the recent Independent Panel set up by the BBC Board of Governors found no deliberate or systematic bias in the BBC’s coverage of the Israel-Palestinian conflict.'”
Asked whether the recruitment of the pair had been prompted by allegations of anti-Israel bias, the spokesman said: The appointments were not a response to any criticism of the BBC s coverage of the region.
I grant you that barely qualifies as a public statement, but at least the BBC didn’t deny it when asked. The timing of the appointments is curious, to say the least.
Just swapping one posh house for another. Big problem for them is getting used to a new driver and servants.
But, they are never long enough in one place to learn the local language, even if they could.

But they have useful Jews in the Jerusalem office. Can’t claim the BBC is anti-Israel or anti-Semitic. Bowen isn’t going anywhere.
