Channel Hopper

Now to an important subject. Christine Bleakley. Off to ITV. Good old BBC, making out that she was dithering, and they had to ‘let her go’ in a new-found frugality policy over wages for celebs and that.

Looks much better than if she’d simply ditched them for all that lolly, and they’ve got the added bonus that they can use her departure as ‘exhibit one’ in the ‘Market Forces Argument’.

You know, the one they use to justify forking out unbelievable sums for all those other overpaid talents, most of whom haven’t even got nearly such toned upper arms.

The Today prog – Humphrys – mentioned she’s going to join the racist Childes for £4million. Good riddance to both of them; knock their wages off the licence tax. But it seems that ITV still haven’t learned the lesson yet; high wages does not bring profits. Especially when employing people with marginal talent.

Never understood what talent Blearly girl has to offer. The BBC appear to have tried to make her into something she’s not.

ITV are weclome to her, so long as my TV tax isn’t paying for her ego.

Never heard of her, but who cares ?  So long as my licence fee isn’t paying for this trivial nonsense.

Well at least she managed to look alive, unlike her co-presenter Chiles who was paid ten times what she was when they were both at the BBC. And he didn’t even have toned arms, nor could he read an autocue or sit up straight on that sofa, so I wouldn’t use the word “talent” in connection with him. Yes, the BBC saw fit to pay the bore a million a year. He did another programme or two as well as that particular sofa lounging job, but still…

This is all well and good good, but where the hell are the BBC going to find another attractive woman who can read an autocue?

Finding that kind of talent is a once in a lifetime thing.

Where is Selina Scott these days ?  She had had a proper training in journalism, I believe.   (I was once interviewed by her on breakfast TV after the Challenger Shuttle disaster – she seemed very competent,  weel-briefed, asked very pertinent questions.   Plus just as attractive in the flesh as on screen,  clearly very intelligent and switched on.)

“Talent”? Do they have talent on the BBC?

Casting aside any dislike of the BBC, I can honestly say that The One Show starring Chiles and Bleakley was utter, utter shite.  The whole production team should be shown the door too.

I say they should bring Carol Thatcher back to replace Bleakley.  I mean, the people who were so offended by her golliwog remark that Jay Hunt felt they could no longer work with her are gone now.  The BBC probably wouldn’t even have to pay her very much, either.

There are only two qualities that the BBC seem to require for employment. One is being left wing, the other is having no personality whatsoever. If you have both then you become director genreral.

Thank god I no longer have to see Chiles and her on the Beeb, both inept. Chiles performance as the football pundit is laughable.
