Great timing. I just now saw the WikiLeaks founder giving a press conference about this (on Fox News), and he said that his organization was doing this specifically to help with the effort in “the prosecution of the war” in Afghanistan. He and his people are anti-this war, and have deliberately gotten hold of these documents – stolen them? – to discredit the war. He has admitted it.
Funny how the Beeboids tried to discredit the CRU emails by saying that people with an agenda to discredit them were behind the “hacking”. Yet, because WikiLeaks has an agenda with which the BBC agrees, it’s cool.
All day the BBC have been pimping the STOLEN files as ‘obtained’ and then ‘released’ by wikileaks.
No waiting and no legal issues curb the BBC enthusiasm, its hammer time at chez beeboid, they have the ideological wind in their sails and they are ready to battle for their sacred political cause.
Terrible consequences? Wait and see? look before you leep?
NO NO NO! jump straight in and set fire to everything in sight, dont worry about the consequences that follow eh? Leaks might lead to more deaths of NATO troops? who cares comrade, blow everything wide open, dont wait and dont examine wikileaks motives and sources and aims, oh no comrades just blast away with as many stories as possible that portray NATO as war criminals and baby killers.
The tragedy of a multi billion pound media giant that can launch poisonous smears against its enemies/cover up for its allies/ignore one scandal and torture others to death/make common cause with our nations deadly enemies/lie and cheat its audience/hide news and make up other news instead.
We are witness to a media giant out of control and running wild, its so called independence nothing more than fanatical political ideology.
BTW the southern hemisphere is experiencing a killing cold winter, many have died and it is a disaster for many regions, now have the BBC been covering the bitter winter and record cold and deaths of humans and cattle?
See what I mean?
I have been mulling over the ‘leaked’ phrase “principled leaking” and the real meaning of it.
The leaked files stop as soon as Obama walks in the door, funny that eh?
Whats more interesting is the US mid terms are coming and Obama democrats are about as popular as a case of facial herpes and these ‘prinicpled leaks just happen to implicate the Hated republicans and the ever hated Bush, again I find that funny and just a little too neat and tidy.
The phrase ‘principled leak’ is code for partisan political smearing I think, I think we have a case of a political organisation launching smears by stealing information damaging to their enemies and then releasing only the files they feel will help their cause. I wonder how many files were witheld in case it damaged the Obama reputation?
So wikileaks is merely a steal’N’smear gang of political bullies attacking their enemies by the careful discrimination and selection of leaked material.
Would wikileaks and the BBC be so keen to release and report on UN corruption/IPCC fraud/UEA data manipulation? Would they ignore damaging material about cap and trade fraud and the Obama stimulus fraud?
The BBC and wikileaks have the same aims and the same political loyalties, they share the same narrative and they em ploy the smae dirty tricks and love of smear politics.
Obama stands at the electoral cliff edge and a defeat at the midterms would leave him a broken useless one term turkey, a walking embarassment to his party. Under those circumstances and knowing his Chicago politics training it doesnt take a great leap to suggest something othr than ‘principled leaking going on.
World Have Your say did a programme on the leaks last night. It’s quite hot, with an articulate and no-bullshit American defender of civilisaton against BBC and friends given a surprising amount of time to state his case:
I’ve just listened to that WHYS programme. Mehdi Hasan is a slippery customer, one of the Beeb’s faves. He gets hysterical at the drop of a hat.
Transparency is the new religion of politics. Full and frank disclosure is the order of the day, though human rights and gratuitous transparency can constrain our behaviour and interfere with the process of defending civilisation. Good to hear Richard Kemp, an authority on both war in general and the integrity of the IDF.
The American, Frank Gaffney was given a fair chance to speak. I found myself agreeing with him which means I must have turned into a right wing neocon.
Have you read Robin Shepherd on this topic? He’s as good as ever, noting the relevance to Israel of the revelations about the reality of war.
I wonder how the BBC would react if there was a “principled leak ” of the Balen Report, not to mention Beeboid salaries ?
The bias, the hypocrisy , the sheer stench of the BBC are overwhelming.
Yes, the clamour for transparency is all well and good when the revelations discredit the military, i.e. covering up civillian casualties.
Are they just as keen when they discredit the labour government, such as with the Andrew Neather ‘immigration policy conspiracy.’
Yes, I suspect carbon trading is a big scam. Has the BBC done a fearless investigation into it ?

It’s how you used to identify cowboys in days of yore by the colour of their titfer.
Come to think of it, ‘cowboys’ still seems to apply.
