It amazes me how often Mona Siddiqui, Professor of Islamic Studies and Director for the Study of Islam, gets a bully-pulpit on Thought for the Day. She was on AGAIN this morning, extolling Islam’s quest for academic excellence. Last time I checked in parts of the Islamic world education meets an explosive demise. It is very odd how Islamicn scholars get such prominence on the BBC given the minority status of their religion. When one looks to see how often evangelical Christians are afforded such a platform, one looks in vain. As I have written before, TFTD is politics by other means!

Don’t Sikhs, Hindus and Buddhists have any thoughts?

Not if a Muslim is in charge of the bBC religious department. Muslims hate those three why as a child I got the shit beaten out of me for singing that song ‘Hari khrisna’ never got beaten for singing any Black sabbath songs.

Would be interesting to do a FOI of this to see what the beakdown of guests is (if the BBC bothers to keep records of course)

Here’s something you probably won’t hear about on Thought for the Day or on BBC:
An article by Alibhai Brown in the Daily Mail (has she jumped ship from the Independent?) about malign influences of certain elements and advocates of the BBC’s favourite religion on the UK:
The Talibanisation of British Childhood.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-1300449/The-Talibanisation-British-childhood-hardline-parents.html
So far from reporting and informing, the BBC pursues a policy of hiding from us what is really going on and colludes in undermining our way of life and even childhood in favour of promoting and propagandising for undesirable alien demands on how we should live our lives. The BBC’s children’s programmes of indoctrination are among the most dangerous and harmful aspects of its many propagandising activities.

Actually we do occasionally get Anne Atkins on Though for Today. She is still an evangelical Christian

Yes – occasionally.
This is a country rooted in Christian values, with an Established church.
Being eroded all the time by the BBC

The only time TFTD is not political is when the Rabbi is on. He seems to cheer up the day. Telling witty anecdots about his friends and family. The so-called “christians” who appear are more left wing than Livingstone.

Anne Atkins is not my idea of an evangelical Christian. Last time she was on she was supporting the wearing of the Burqa.

Mona Siddiqui has been on TFTD 98 times since July 2001 (averaging nearly 11 appearances a year).

Almost once a month. Probably she could not make it for the month of Ramadan or the ‘Winter festival season’.

David, no need to look to parts of the Islamic world, only need to look at here in the UK;

Tee,
Thanks for that link. I would urge everyone to click on it. Notice Jews in the UK are most likely to have qualifications.

No problem. Please note, i have been informed by various Muslim though that these statistics are made up by racists. (Yea.. i know!)
Also, you should know it is not PC to point out positive points about Christians and Jews. It is also racist towards Muslims. (again.. I know!)

Also, to debunk another myth that Muslims are hard workers and only come to the West to work, click on the ‘labour market’ link will show them to have the highest unemployment rates.
The page has now been removed, but i’ve emailed them to get it put back up. We’ll see that happens.

We imported illiterate peasants, most of them imported illiterate spouses, English is often not spoken or even attempted, they have a tribal culture that often apparently does not rate education – especially for girls, increasing numbers of their children are being segregated from many mainstream school activities, and many children from a very young age spend hours and hours each week at madrassa-style classes in local mosques.
And we wonder why we end up with two-thirds of them with no serious education ? And huge unemployment levels ?
But who cares – only another 300,000 Pakistanis were let in last year under “student visas”, many or mostly bogus. Plus scores of thousands of dependent relatives.

Possibly, a more interesting angle for someone at the BBC to explore is the historical context. Once, the Islamic world was a centre of educational and scientific excellence – maybe they should start asking why that changed?

Why, Western Imperialism, of course.

The Jews?
