Some interesting and appreciative articles and comments about the John Sweeny programme “Useful Idiots” .
John Sweeney is a top man. He’s what the BBC always once was and what it can be again. I suppose it was hoping for too much though for him to interview his colleagues at how they give uncritical acceptance to the likes of Binyamin and Mo Begg that they are not Al Qa’eda terrorists. The BBC’s coverage of them is like Press TV’s coverage of Iran.

If he had addressed the fact that all the useful idiots were sold on their causes long before they ever visited the Soviet Union or Iraq or whatever, I’d have been more impressed.

Indeed a good programma. In the second part he was talking about his collega’s. Look at the case of Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani.

A some time ago the BBC had a phone in. In this programm the presenter equated the stoning to death of this women with th prohibition for gay people to get married.

Maybe John Sweeney could look into the history, past and present, of useful idiots within the BBC? How some seek to make the West impotent against our enemies in regards to Islam… But as it was suggested idiots cannot see their own stupidity therefore you will see no fingers pointing inward.

One imagines John Sweeney would encounter certain editorial difficulties in exposing his colleagues. Surely, what he did manage to get out on air on the BBC is worth celebrating. The BBC acting for democracy for a change instead of tyranny and terrorism.

I love the snippet from the interview with Tony Benn.
Sweeney “Mao was a mass murderer ”
Benn ” There are aspects of his life and record which I deeply deplore ”
Benn, one of the biggest “useful idiots ” around , too stupid the see the irony of him being interviewed on this programme !

After this exposure of Benn’s infamy – surely the BBC should stop inviting the lisping old idiot to any more shows.
Fat chance. Because the BBC itself is stuffed full of useful idiots.

They advertised the programme for a few weeks before airing it on the World Service. Yes, it was such a breath of fresh air to hear something like that come out of the BBC.
I particularly liked the way he mentioned that the reprehensible George Galloway and Yvonne Ridley refused to be interviewefd for the programme.
This is the BBC? I’m wondering if it could have something to do with the change in government. It’s on a par with that cesspit of ignorant bias that goes by the name of the UN swiftly stating that the Israelis were on their side of the border during the recent exchanges of fire with Lebanon. And Ban Ki Moon, that grinning little jerk who consistently adds his voice to the howling anti-Israel chorus suddenly involved in what seems to be a fair composition of the commission to investigate the flotilla affair.
Must be some really interesting configurations in the heavens these days.
