INTERVIEWING WITHOUT DUE CARE AND ATTENTION

Laura Kuennsberg didn’t exactly cover herself in glory on Wednesday’s Newsnight, when she repeatedly interrupted Republican Brad Blakeman over the issue of the Islamic centre at Ground Zero, while not interrupting Mosque-supporter Nihad Awad of the Council on American-Islamic Relations. (She even called the latter ‘Nihad’).

Last night’s performance was if anything even worse.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/newsnight (beginning about nine minutes in).

After another completely one-sided report from Liz MacKean, which propagandized for keeping speed cameras and against government budget cuts, Laura interviewed speed camera enthusiast George Monbiot and speed camera naysayer Claire Armstrong of Safe Speed.

Mrs Armstrong faced constant interruptions from Monbiot. Not only did Laura Kuennsburg not even try to control Monbiot’s aggressive behaviour, she joined him in interrupting Mrs Armstrong. George Monbiot was merely asked a couple of half-hearted questions and then allowed to get on with it. Claire Armstrong, however, was challenged with several tough questions, all from the same pro-speed camera position advanced by Liz MacKean’s report and by George Monbiot:

“Claire Armstrong, you might be pleased that cameras are disappearing, but how can you be when the police say, quite clearly, this will result in more people being hurt and possibly killed?”

“Well Claire, isn’t it the case actually that the statistics overwhelmingly do show a change? Not just the Department of Transport. There are countless studies, one from UCL that showed a 67% reduction in speeding, another from a different place showing a 7o% reduction in speeding, one from the University of Liverpool…I mean, why continue with the small amount of statistics that appear to contradict the lion’s share?”

“Well Claire, where has that myth about them making money come from then, because if that was the case in these cash-strapped times, surely the government should be putting speed cameras across the land?”

“What do you say to women like that mother in the film who wanted a speed camera on her road? She believes in her heart that it could have saved lives if it was on her road.”

“Claire Armstrong, why is it socially acceptable to speed? Decades ago it was socially acceptable to drink and then drive and then to not wear a seat-belt. But why do you believe it’s socially acceptable to speed?” (Mrs Armstrong doesn’t, of course, believe any such thing).

It should be socially unacceptable for BBC interviewers and BBC programmes to take sides on controversial political issues.

Kuntsberg really is useless, even if you can avoid being put off by her deformed jaw (very Brown like) she really is so left she makes rat face look right wing.

What is missed in the blog entry is that Kuntsberg NEVER made any reference to leading Democrats being opposed to the Mosque, in particular Howard Dean and Harry Reid, it is a disgrace this has been ignored by the BBC.

Harry Reid is opposed to it? Huh. Last thing I saw by him vis Islam was a paean to how shit-hot it (Islam) is in the Senate.

Don’t tell me the beeboids have found another gig for old moonbat monbiot !
After his credentials to be wheeled out as an ‘expert’ in the global warming scam, were well and truly demolished, he was quietly put out to grass !
Still, there’s always a spot somewhere in the bbc for a left wing zealot to masquerade as the default consensus position.

Yep! Always a BBC primetime talking head spot for BBC favourites no matter how stupid or disgraced or foolish.
Life is good if you are in the BBCs favour.
The Mooonbat made a copmplete ass of himself with Booker/North/Delingpole, he just couldnt wait to open his ignorant mouth before he knew all the facts and came a right cropper.
To the BBC however smearing a political enemy is a badge of honour especially if the enemy is a BBC enemy.

It is a sign of how low the BBC has fallen that they see fit to use this opinionated but stupid woman.

And her appearance and mannerisms are very offputting – to put it kindly.

Moonbat is a joke, this is a mong who campaigned against cars for years, basically stated most people (he meant the white working class) didn’t need cars as they could walk or use the bus, then decided to go live up a hill in Wales or something and said HE needed a car.

What was wrong with walking Moonbat?

George Monbiot obviously has a mental disorder.  Id lock him up in a padded cell…..with access to a knife and a rope of course.

I managed about 44 seconds before closing my browser out of disinterest.  My BBC detoxification is now complete – I am immune to the broadcaster’s bullshit.

Despite not having a TV licence and not watching the crap on the channels for some time now, I had my first visit from TV Licensing this week.

I say visit, he walked up to my door, saw the notice removing his implied right of access and CCTV, scratched his head, made a call on his mobile and left.

    Priceless.

I missed this one, but last night’s Newsnight piece on the topic sank to a new low.  Naturally, it’s the heavily biased and dishonest Peter Marshall doing it.

We are supposed to take the imam at his word that he’s doing good works.  There is zero examination by the BBC of his actual work, so I have no idea (if I’m trusting the BBC for my information) whether he does or doesn’t.  I have no idea if he’s spoken out against terrorism or not.

At no time does the BBC show what makes so many of us object to this project:  footage of Mohammedans around the world celebrating and dancing in the streets on 9/11.  We know they did it because we saw the footage at the time.  The BBC censors that information now.  Their defense will be that it’s inflammatory, and they don’t like to milk emotional content like that.  The actual reason is that it will kill their Narrative, and they know it.  Without the context of the celebratory footage, though, critics of the Cordoba/Park51 project are edited down so as to appear baseless and hollow, just angry haters we don’t need to listen to.

The second-lowest point comes when Marshall brings up Sarah Palin’s “refudiate” malapropism.  He makes fun of it by calling it “surreal”, and his intent to is to disparage by association my personal feelings, the feelings of the families in my neighborhood whose family members were murdered in the name of Islam, and everyone else who thinks the people behind the project are being insensitive.  Then he uses Palin’s error to make light of the President seemingly backpedaling from His original statement of support for the mosque project.  A poor editorial decision.

The lowest, sickest part of this disgusting segment comes at the end.  At 3:10 into the video, the BBC shows a bit from a public service announcement put together by “conservatives” featuring friends and family of victims expressing their opinion about it.  First there’s a fireman describing the moment when he saw people jumping from the top floors of the towers.  Then two other men give opinions about the project.  One gives a reasoned, “they should think about what they’re doing”, and the other simply says it’s wrong.

This is immediately followed by footage of Mohammedan men bowing in prayer at a mosque (we aren’t told which one).  Marshall’s voice over begins as follows:

“While Muslims in New York pray for peace, understanding, and a new mosque, there’s another poll which shows a fifth of all Americans now believe that their President is himself a Muslim.”

And there you have the BBC’s bias in a nutshell.  Muslims pray for peace and understanding, and it’s those bigoted United Statesians who are the real problem.  Just mad haters, the lot of us, yeah.

Quite offensive, and quite sickening.  But that’s the BBC for you.

A tad ‘two wrongs’ I concede, but I await, with keen interest, the BBC and its dedicated non-driving, non-taxi, non expenses staff’s detailed expose of all those with no insurance who make things a wee bit less safe and more expensive compared to those doing a few mph over the limit on a clear dual carriageway by looking at the road and not their speedos all the time.

And while I try to avoid personal commentary, I have to wonder whether the peroxide dousing almost all female Beeboid talking heads is inflicting serious psycho-physiological damage.

On top of a positively grating voice, the nervous head jerks is terribly distracting.

So who put her in charge? All I recall before was endless tweets she posted from some political lap dog beat essentially logging when folk got in and out of cars or came through doors.

Mind you, she did manage to get Aunty-favoured ones to do it in in statesmanlike ways, when those on the naughty step were usually billed as ‘furtive’.

    A glittering future thus beckons.

For distracting head twitching and waggling, there is no equal to the newsreader called James Dagwell (I think) on the news channel. I cannot watch or listen to him.  Simon Schama is another twitcher wagger.

Nice piece from the Times about George ‘Mongbiot’ and his double standards about car ownership. Note the BBC NEVER pick him up on this hypocrisy.

Moonbat: ‘Well I’m afraid, um, Claire as Safespeed has done so many occasions, is recycling mythology and falsehoods, and, um, straightforward misrepresentation…’

Lulz, irony. This is George Monbeeyoh, one – if not the – most shrill cheerleaders of the First Church of Environmentology.

He does have date-rapist eyes though. A lot like Nick Robinson.

As for Kuenssberg and her swaying. Well either she’s got Parkinson’s or she’s a bored horse. I’m not sure which. At least she’s not as annoying as Kirsty Wark. They ought to use recordings of her voice to extract confessions from Koranic Literalists at Gitmo. Damn.
