Martin Narey from Barnados seems a permanent fixture on the BBC these days and it is clear that his radical socialist views chime with those held bythe State Broadcaster. A favourite BBC trick is to invite the favoured interviewee into the Studio whilst the opponent languishes on the end of a phone line. So it was that Narey was in the studio this morning whilst David Green of Civitas was kept at distance on the phone line. That way, Narey’s voice sounds more powerful, more authoritative than Green’s and since Narey was advocating further social engineering in our schools it was important that he got as good a platform as possible.Even when they attempt “balance” there is always bias.

It’s interesting how formerly respected organisations such as Barnardo’s, RSPCA/SSPCA (did you hear that officious little twerp from SSPCA on PM yesterday) and, dare I say it, the BBC itself have become infested by this type of person.
The effect is to suggest to the population at large that theirs is the normal view. I don’t believe it’s coincidence.

I think some of these groups (barnados etc) have moved into the realm of lobbyists. They were given plenty of access to the last government (probably this one too) and their word is taken as gospel. “Surely this charity wouldn’t have an agenda would it? No one can disagree with a charity can they…?” It’s that sort of mentality.

Wasn’t Narey formerly Head of Prisons ? A New Labour placeman, pure and simple.

Just checked that, he was appointed DG of the Prison Service in 1998, which proves he is New Labour through and through.

Just had a look at Barnado’s 2009 accounts. Narey’s salary was £160-£170 K. Still, I am sure he is worth it.

Not only is the right winger/non statist always on the phone they tend to be on a bad phone line as well. I was listening to someone trying to make their point on PM the other day and realised I haven’t held a phone conversation where the audio was that bad for years. Even a mobile phone conversation in an area of poor coverage doesn’t sound like that. The audio quality of Skype calls some programmes try to do are absolutely abysmal and sound like the PC is connected to the Internet on a 14.4K dial up line.

I would not put it past the BBC to deliberately add noise to the line to sabbotage the call.

I listened to the piece this morning and what once would have made me angry, as when David Milliband was Education Secretary, now just makes me yawn. These lefty intellectuals are so divorced from the reality it’s farce. Has anyone ever pointed out to them that 60% of the population couldnt’t give 2f’s for education and schooling and actually rather resented their sec moderns being taken away from them. Except for many of them, they could have done with being less academic.

Here is the Today summary note of what the topic is about (for those who don’t want to have to click on a link to find out):
“Schools should be required to take equal shares of children of different academic abilities, according to a children’s charity Barnardo’s.
Barnardo’s chief executive Martin Narey and David Green, director of think tank Civitas, debate the educational gap between children from different social backgrounds.”

Yes the BBC trick of keeping the moderate/right wing guest at the end of a crackling phone line and fading him out before he can say his piece while the lefties keep warm in the cosy studio and allowed to waffle freely. The BBC think they can get away with it …. well they have done so far.

Come on guys. Just because the Beeboids have serially lied to the public about phone-in stuff, including faking competition winners and lying to and stealing money from license-fee payers and their children, doesn’t mean they would stoop so low as to sabotage a phone interview.

‘A favourite BBC trick is to invite the favoured interviewee into the Studio whilst the opponent languishes on the end of a phone line. ‘
The list of pre and post production ‘techniques’ (tricks is soooo fully vindicated ‘CRU’ dontchaknow?) seems to be growing daily.
I think it rather suggests the nature of the two-way relationship that is facilitated by state, quango, single muvva or charity-funded iPhone links.
‘Pop in tomorrow and then we’ll call some poor schmuck at home on a moment’s notice to show right of reply. Don’t forget to shake your head onscreen a lot so I can tell the teleprompter reader to interrupt the other guy, turn to you and say ‘I see you disagree with this… why?’

Narey is a typical quango grab bagger…alon with the Jardines,Leathers and the like.
Obvious career progression that from Prisons to Barnardos-surely the appointment suggests that todays vulnerable youngsters are tomorrows prisoners,so he should not have been given the job at Barnardos should he? How then did he get it?..obviously a rip roaring success in the Prisons was he not? Luckily our charitable donations prop him up…typical Blair lickspittle that the Beeb have on speed dial. His own kids no doubt did well out of “no banding!”
