Or not, as the case may be !
I know it is channel 4 and not relevant for this site but I am sure Matthew Cain has got camper and camper of late – feel as though he is doing it to prove a point.
There’s this gratuitous speculation from, presumably, a Pakistani INBBC reporter, perhaps reflecting Pakistani anti-Americanism:
“The BBC’s Syed Shoaib Hasan in Pakistan says that the incident may add to anti-American sentiment in Pakistan.”
Note:
INBBC’s Syed Shoaib Hasan in Pakistan does NOT say that the incident may add to anti-Pakistan sentiment in America.
Apparently keen to implicate the American, the INBBC reporter does not realise that he may confusingly answer its own query in this final sentence:
“Our correspondent says questions are certain to be asked as to why the American was carrying arms and why, if he was a diplomat, he was not provided with armed protection.”
Comment for INBBC: as the American was not provided with armed protection, he was carrying arms.
So how many of you have heard from the bBC about that gay couple who we denied a bed for the night by a Christian couple, in the fact the bBC so concerned by this vile hatred committed by a religious bigot they found another couple who are also suing. So in light of the above how many people have seen and heard this story from the bBC. Oh they had it up on lights last night and by today it has been removed. Pair charged with stirring up homophobic hatred
Not only have the bBC relegated this story to the regions but they have edited it and removed a vital part of the story. which was:
Razwan Javed, 30, and Kabir Ahmed, 27, are accused of handing out leaflets called ‘The Death Penalty?’ which called for homosexuals to be executed outside the Jamia Mosque in Derby in July 2010 and through letterboxes during the same month.
You know the viewing and listening figures the BBC regularly tells us they get? Does anyone know for sure how they are collated? Years ago, it used to be a little set top box for a small “representative” sample of the population. This was then factored up by a computer programme to arrive at millions rather like opinion polls.
I know for certain that SKY and Virgin have very accurate viewing figures, because they are able to see what everyone is watching, something the BBC can’t do. The BBC can’t know what radio stations and programmes people are listening to either.
Since, the BBC regularly says millions watch and listen to their programmes, shouldn’t all licence payers know how these statistics are arrived at? Just how accurate are they?
Can’t answer your question sadly, but it is a good one.
I know for certain that SKY and Virgin have very accurate viewing figures
Not surprising. They only get paid for qualified eyeballs. A problem the BBC is blissfully spared.
One rather suspects the BBC claims here should be treated with just about anything else they issue, from ‘polls’ to ‘research’ to ‘critics claim’… well, basically anything they broadcast, doubt it by default.
Except that bit about unique funding. That seems sickeningly accurate.
More blatant INBBC propaganda for Islamising TURKEY.
INBBC is using BBC licencepayers’ money to get a pro-Erdogan, pro-AKP Turk, Ms Zaman, to write AKP political campaign material, disguised as journalism.
Ms Zaman, who lives in Istanbul, joins in the Islamic enthusiasm from the start of her propaganda piece:
“Turkey’s growing ties with Arab world”
[Opening extract]:
“On 10 January, before an audience of eminent Islamic scholars in Kuwait City, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan was awarded the ‘Outstanding Personality in the Muslim World’ prize.
Drawing on his training as a Muslim cleric, Mr Erdogan elicited cries of “Allahu Akbar” (God is Great) as he launched into a passionate tirade against Israel and its treatment of the Palestinians in his acceptance speech. ”
Amberin is one of those useful idiot Turk journalists who frequently claims that the current Islamo-fascist government is the most democratic, open and transparent in Turkish history. All very strange as she has never been particularly religious herself.
But, perfect Beeboid material.
Maybe the BBC will find a female Turkish journalist who will give an opposing view in the interests of balance. On the other hand, I won’t hold my breath.
Daily Politics and interview with Joe Anderson, Labour Liverpool Councillor, no discernible interruptions when he spoke. Then conservative Councillor and none of his answers went uninterrupted. The bias is tangible and quantifiable but still the BBC would deny it.
Wait till a group led by the Muslim Brotherhood takes over in Egypt. Then we’ll see how much freedom the young people cut off from Twitter and Facebook want.
Having said that, I won’t hold my breath waiting for the BBC to remind everyone that this was George Bush’s vision. Oh, how they sneered at the time.
Did you know the Arab-American community is represented within the Tea Party crowd? Justin Amash is the son of a Palestinian father, and Syrian mother. He performs the role of a thoroughly “assimilated” Yankee Doodle Arab complete with that familiar, American-friendly first name, and even quotes Ronald Reagan. This Tea-Party Arab is another great example of why we should reject ethnic-based politics.
Amash was the successful Tea Party Republican candidate for the 3rd Congressional District in Michigan.
The link goes to an Islamist hate site. They’ve targeted this guy. But the fact that he exists is yet more proof of how the BBC fed you false propaganda about the Tea Party movement.
These Mohammedans hate US values, and clearly hate Israel. In fact, the article reads an awful lot like certain Beeboid opinions we hear from time to time.
Looks like Mohammed El-Baradei is trying to pull a Yeltsin. He may be best poised to walk into power if the current ruling party decides to allow even semi-free elections. He would be the BBC’s wet dream.
He’d remove Egypt’s blockade of their border with Gaza and allow free movement. And turn a blind eye while Hamas gets armed to the teeth. Egypt can still remain a peaceful neighbor of Israel as their proxies in the war against the Zionists will be strengthened. He’s an international darling as well, so it will be tolerated.
So 129 firms were warned last September by the Office of Fair Trade that they were breaking rules, and now 35 have surrendered their licenses to operate as trading advisors in the debt sector. Ray Watson from the OFT told the BBC just now that none of them met the required standards, including having unqualified people advising their clients. So they’re cracking the whip and getting results.
It’s quite appalling that this has been allowed to happen, yet the BBC hasn’t bothered to mention that Gordon Brown let it go on and on.
People of “unknown” religion who want to kill gay people and want to encourage others to do likewise.
Strange how the religion was vital and had to be identified for a case of sleeping arrangements but is not (when in reality known) for people who actually want to maim and kill people for their sexuality.
The bBC – if they ever visit the real world you will be sure to let me know won’t you.
I see that Stephanie Flanders has been giving her interview of one of the main men at Google a plug on her BBC blog. The Flounderer seems to have missed the fact that her blog is supposed to be about the UK economy as many of the comments are pointing out to her.
Those losing their jobs at the BBC must be so glad to see that those at the top still have plenty of money for loads of them to decamp abroad to Davos so they can back-slap and waffle. By the way is anything happening in the UK economy or North Africa?
Frank Gardner just said the the Muslim Brotherhood are “not that radical”. FFS.
He says that this would, of course be seen by the US as a “turn for the worse”. But he seems to have no real objection to them taking over. Then he goes on to say that Egypt really must have free democracy now. Under the Muslim Brotherhood? In your dreams, Beeboid.
Gardner is the BBC’s go-to expert on Egypt because, not only does he have all that experience reporting from Arab Muslim countries, but he went to university in Egypt for a while. So of course he’s going to be biased a certain way.
Stephanie Flanders just said that the US economic policy of tax, print (“borrow”), and spend money is better than the Tory policy of not doing that so much. Oh, sure, she said that “nobody is going to make a snap judgment” based on the recent figures showing that the UK economy shrank a tiny bit, but she was clearly asking the audience to compare and contrast, and hinting at who was more successful. I won’t even go into how she misrepresented the US economy.
As someone who has followed this Larry Summers protogé who shares an ideological and personal history with both Red Ed and Even More Red Ed, it’s no surprise which policy Flanders is advocating.
Well I gather that in the United States Summers is regarded as an arrogant fool. Of course Ms.Flanders gave an obsequious peam to him in one of her articles. I guess those depending on Harvard’s pension funds would have a different view to say the least.
As to her view shall we file it with “Ireland and Greece will get nowhere near default”?
She was doing a report from Davos for the BBC News Channel. It’s probably recycled on other channels as well. She advocates for only one style of economic management ever. Technically, she’s not supposed to advocate for anything, but there it is.
Agreed, for a piece on one of the BBCs prime time news bulletins it was perhaps the most transparently Cameron / Osborne bashing one I think I’ve ever seen
Well if you think about it Cameron and Osbourne should be pleased as so far in her predictions at the BBC Stephanie Flanders has continued to get things wrong….
The Mandela eulogy is starting a bit prematurely on the BBC. During a special report from South Africa about how Mandela is back home from the hospital, they put in a vox pops with some youngster who exclaimed that Mandela had given him his freedom and that Mandela “is my family”.
“The Mandela sparkle is as bright as ever.” This is beyond reporting, it’s over-the-top praise. Such a different tone compared to whenever Mrs. Thatcher is taken ill.
Back to the studio, and the female anchor says, “They sound nervous” over Mandela’s health. “I think we all are,” mewls the female sports Beeboid. Not the most professional behavior.
Mandela is a universally acclaimed figure and rightly so in my book. Very, very few people would take issue with him receiving this sort of reverential treatment.
News presenters don’t need to be exclaiming their personal feelings on the issues they’re talking about. Leave that to everyone else on the BBC. I don’t care who it is.
Well, at 93 come July, I would have thought his days were pretty well numbered. Nobody lives forever, not even a black has-been terrorist. But I’ll take everyone’s advice, I shan’t panic – I shan’t even think about it. Nelson who?
The BBC and the TV media in general have been claiming that the riots in Egypt have no Islamic elements, because the Muslim Brotherhood is run by old men. Yet watching the footage on TV everyone seems to be running round screaming “Allahu Akbar!”
How Islamophobic of you, James. That sort of talk belongs around the dinner table and not on a responsible blog such as this.
I’m just waiting for the first ‘expert’ to say that “Allahu Akbar” is a generic phrase and is in no way connected to Islam. Anyone want to be that expert won’t be on al-Beeb?
It doesn’t look the like the early instigators of the riots had anything to do with the Muslim Brotherhood, so it’s fair enough for the BBC to describe it that way, I think. However, who does the BBC think is going to win in a free and fair election? While it’s easy to find English-speaking Egyptians who sound articulate and spout platitudes about freedom and justice, what will they end up voting for?
One of the Egyptian “expert analysts” the BBC had in the studio earlier today said something about how one of the reasons Mubarak is disliked is because he makes Egypt the protector of Israel. Inded, the BBC keeps bringing up how much money the US gives Egypt, wink, wink, nudge, nudge.
If a candidate in this hypothetical free and fair election makes breaking ties with Israel a top campaign policy, does anyone doubt who would win? Not even El-Baradei’s Western money and support can beat that.
