BBC R4 “Thought For The Day.” (Holocaust Memorial Day 2011)
The artist formerly known as Richard Harries is now Lord Harries of Pentrgarth, Gresham Professor of Divinity. I’m sure he’s well meaning. He looks nice in his outfit.
Far be it from me to express ingratitude, on behalf of myself and others, for his kindly thoughts about the Jews that perished at the hands of Hitler. Mentioning that the demonisation of Jews was wholly undeserved was much appreciated, as was his sensitive reminder that it led to murder and betrayal, even by former friends colleagues and neighbours.
Then he went and spoiled it all by saying something stupid, like…….
“so, don’t demonise the Muslims.”
Antisemitism is a very light sleeper, indeed.
On R4 now. Face the Facts. Islamophobia.
“so, don’t demonise the Muslims.”
because they do such a top job of it themselves

Yes, I heard it. Unbelievable to somehow suggest that a holocaust against Islam was even a remote possibility and esp given the views of so many in Islam towards Jewish people. It was a stunning thought for Holocaust Memorial Day.

Must not be adhering to page 27 of the “Equality & Diversity” book.
It clearly states you must accept strange behavior from foreign cultures and not think it abnormal because you may hurt their feelings.
On a positive note it states on page 35: Laughing is connected in most countries with happiness but can be a sign of confusion, insecurity and embarrassment.
I never new that.

THe BBC are VERY keen to run Youtube videos of men being sexist, a serious crime in beeboid world.
But anyone want to take a bet with me they WON’T be running this story?

According to Mrs U this video – or something very like it – was on the main BBC1 News at 10:00 last night. She was disgusted by the contents of the video and also amazed that the BBC actually showed it (at length it seems).

I didn’t see it on the BBC news, if it was it certainly didn’t get the same attention at two fat sexists off Sky Sports.

Interesting how the bBC portrays Muslims as only victims. Here is the latest news flash from the bBC:
US man shoots and kills Pakistani in Lahore, police say
An American man in the Pakistani city of Lahore has shot and killed a Pakistani motorbike rider, police say.
Police told the AFP news agency that the American fired his pistol in self defence. US embassy officials were not immediately available for comment.Police say that the dead man was a robber travelling on a motorcycle. His pillion passenger was injured.”The man told us he pulled out his pistol in self-defence,” Lahore police chief Aslam Tarin told AFP.
From the bBC headline do you get the feeling that Americans are gun happy fatherless people who love nothing better to do than shoot innocent muslims? And here is the Reuters version:
Armed American kills two gunmen in Pakistan
LAHORE, Pakistan (Reuters) – A U.S. consulate employee shot and killed two gunmen in self-defence in the Pakistani city of Lahore Thursday, police said. The American was stopped at a traffic light when two men riding a motorbike stopped near his car.“The American told us that he opened fire in self-defence after one of the men pulled out pistol,” Lahore police chief Aslam Tarin told Reuters. The two gunmen sustained injuries and both later died in hospital.
Notice how the bBC leaves out that the shot (and killed) Pakistani men were armed and pulled out guns first. Of course any pakistani reading the bBC will feel that these men could and can only be victims. But then according to the bBC Islamic gunmen/terrorists can only be the new Jews.

Does the Beeboid Corporation do things like this pointedly and deliberately for a political agenda-led reason or is it just stupid ineptitude? I mean putting on a programme about an invented phobia on Holocaust Memorial Day.

And on Holocaust day the bbC finds another Non Jew in which to not mention 6 million murdered Jews.(which is what the day is all about)
Roma appeal against discrimination on Holocaust Day
The first Roma guest of honour at Germany’s official Holocaust remembrance day ceremony has said his people face new threats.Zoni Weisz told German MPs that Roma in western Europe again faced discrimination and were living “in inhumane conditions in ghettos”…The majority of Holocaust victims were Jewish but historians estimate between 220,000 and 500,000 Roma also died.
What is it with the bBC and its total hatred of Jewish people?

Actually I get the impression that the only Jew the BBC likes is the “Holocaust Jew”. It’s Jews who are proud, strong and independent (ie Israelis) that they hate.
Yeah, well I got news for them…..

And here’s another example of how the bbC blurs holocaust day
‘I was forced to watch Nazi killing of Jews aged seven’
Aleksandras Iljasevicius was born a Muslim Tatar in Lithuania. At the age of seven, he was made to watch Nazi troops execute his Jewish friends and neighbours.Almost 70 years on, a retired teacher in the US, he has revisited his childhood memories to mark international Holocaust remembrance day, in an interview with the BBC World Service.
In the lala land the bbC inhabit each and every Muslim around the world is peaceful and loves Jews. This is getting beyond a joke.

I was going to comment on those items too.
Of course it’s right to be aware of other genocides like Rwanda and the murders of Roma, and other victims of the Nazis, but it’s also part of the move to disinherit the Jews of the greatest tragedy to befall them in their long history of persecution and attempts to wipe them off the face of the earth.
The Holocaust was unique in so many ways and these ploys to confuse it with other genocides and massacres serve only those who would have it happen again.
Let’s remember that it was the Muslim Council of Britain who boycotted Holocaust Memorial Day a few years ago insisting it be used to commemorate other “genocides” too – now the BBC are following that agenda too.

Wasn’t Rwanda muslims killing Christians?

Yes, Holocaust Memorial Day was hijacked years ago by every group who claims a “genocide” and, mainly, the political Left.
The aim is to divert attention from the Holocaust and dilute its effect.
For such people, hatred of the Jews is greater than any distaste they have for the Nazis who, let’s not forget, were Socialists.

Yes those poor muslims forced to watch and laugh and dance with glee as Jews were rounded up and masacred. I expect they hated taking over the farms and livestock too, poor muslim victims eh? Not forgeting the muslims who joined the SS and formed units with as much hatred of the Jews as any German.
The BBC rewrites history to pimp a narrative, as most people do not know the real story they are taken in by it.

Good catch, sue. It’s anti-Semitism to suggest that Jews in Europe were in anything like the same situation as Mohammedans are today. This assumes that there were Jews who were an actual physical danger to society. Vile.

Not just that. There is only one people in the Middle East who are actually and really threatened with genocide. They are the Israeli Jews.
If you move nearby into Africa you have the Coptic Christians in Egypt who are under threat of genocide. The Christians in Sudan have suffered something close to it, not forgetting the Tutsi tribe in Rwanda. Almost the only people not under threat of genocide in the world are muslims.
Considering how their populations have increased (particularly in Gaza and the West Bank) then calling it genocide is the greatest disrespect to all those like the Jews, and the Roma, who really suffered it in the war.

Until muslims are fearful of us here in the West, their progress to world domination will go unchecked. We need to put them back in their place; and it’s not living amongst us.

With immigration, family reunification, illegal immigration, and a high birth rate, Muslims will eventually control parliament, and can then set sharia as the law of the land.
The question is how to stop Muslim immigration without it appearing as religious discrimination. The next question is how to reverse Muslim immigration.
Both need to be done in a manner that does not appear discriminatory, but needs to be done or the UK is finished. This is the quandary that our political elite have placed us in.

What is astonishing is that Muslims are still here in the West, given the known disquiet. Even Warsi realises this.
Don’t they have any shame? If I was not wanted in any country, I would be off. The idea of forcing myself on other people’s hospitality is deeply repugnant, and should be a matter of great shame to any honourable person.
But here they are, from Warsi to the asylum seeker, they won’t leave. If they are deported they sneak in a humiliating manner. No shame – none at all.

The only thing that would “reverse” Muslim immigration is fixing the countries they all left. Just like George Bush said should happen, but the BBC ridiculed at the time. If the home countries are okay, the natives generally stay put.

Listened to that R4 show for 5 mins and then switched it off. They were blaming the Newspapers for Islamophobia. According to the BBC it is the the dead trees press fault that Islam has such a bad image.
However, wasn’t it the BBC that knowingly took a Jihad terroist cell that was linked to the 7/7 bombers on a training operation, using licence fee payer’s money, while making ‘Don’t Panic I’m Islamic’? And then covered up for them?
And did not members of the Religion of Peace attack BBC offices because they did not agree with the BBC’s coverage of the Gaza Flortilla story. And then the BBC covered up for them?
And after all the pro-Islamic propoganda the BBC pumps out. They manage to undo all their “good work” by showing a single documentry, Panorama. That informs the general public that at Islamic “Sunday” schools they teach children how to cut off hands. Oh, but no, it is not Islam, but the Saudi’s fault.

“only a few unrepresentative extremists” Whilst not all Muslims are extremists, extreme Islamism is not unrepresentative of Muslims especially across the middle east. A large proportion of Muslims hold very extreme views about Jews, Infidels and those who do not follow Islam’s strict rules, many more look the other way or lie for Islam. This woolly western thinking needs to stop.

Correct Marky, the appeasers live in a fantasy land and not the real world, they judge islam by the standards of Christianity and muslims by their own standards of fairness and decency and hatred of conflict and so eager to believe are they that they are lying to themselves and others to justify their own appeasing cowardice.

Here’s the Face the facts. (not sure if link will work)
If you can sit through it. It reminded me of certain people who thought they could belittle our concerns through sneering-by-spelling, viz “tewwowists.”
The pwogwamme did the same thing by focusing on trivialities – rumours and stories that may have been fabricated, or tabloidy exaggerations, from what he called ‘a grain.’
He rebranded Inyat Bungle as a butter wouldn’t melt in the mouth moderate, rehabilitated the Muslim Council of Britain as harmless and hard-done-by, did what Baroness Warsi said you really mustn’t do, i.e. separate Muslims into ‘moderates’ and ‘extremists’, and by sleight of hand, brushed aside 7/7 with more dexterity than Paul Daniels vaporising a wabbit. Did I like it? Not a lot.

There is no doubt though, that once the Muslim population in any country is large enough, Muslims are required to institute sharia, and they will do so. Warsi is right, the distinction between ‘moderate’ or ‘radical’ Muslims is thus totally meaningless in this context.

Muslims are not the new Jews, they would dearly wish to be the new scourge of world Jewry but the victim card plays well to the useful idiots and so for now victimhood may adance their cause for now HOWEVER there is a blood lust lurking at the heart of islam and those who wish peace will never be in any position to halt it, given the chance this blood lust will explode like a super volcano.
The muslim hostile colonists live an infinately better life in Judeo Christian nations than they would in their own islaic lands, they are free and pampered and live well, they are treated with kid gloves and if they are not then a little rage will help no end.
To call the hostile colonists victims is an insult to real victims of islamic terror.
The BBC is trying to sell us a narrative, it is engaged in a giant fraud, we are supposed ot accept muslim victimhood for one reason only, this status would allow them to bully the nations they are colonising into accepting ever more strident and far reaching demands. Victimhood status is simply another weapon and tactic on the road to the promised and longed for victory.
If there were a list of of victims from the most worthy at the top to the least worthy at the bottom then islam would not even make the bottom of the list.

Sue – whilst I cannot add anything to your post my listening and thoughts exactly followed yours – the sensitive way Harries was dealing with Holocaust Day – and then up jumps the Muslims.
My father always had concerns that Holocaust Day would prove a pivot around which anti-Semitism could swirl and somehow this linking with Jews and Muslims makes me feel uncomfortable.

It is a bizarrely odd finish to the section. I mean if you had an absence of anti semitism in modern society then it might not look so out of place. However there isn’t an absence of it. In fact reports from across Europe suggest it is back on the rise. We even had it touched upon on the beeb when they tried to lump it in to the general hate crimes story.
But inconveniently for the beeb it is growing again and in many respects it’s worse there is a blind eye being turned to it in many states.

(Am having problems with the comments today so apologies if this re-post suddenly appears more than once.)
On a related note, this morning Nicky Campbell interviewed Yvonne Ridley about the Moscow airport suicide bombing (Listen Again 2:24:30 in) He surprised her by taking her to task over a glowing obituary she wrote for the mastermind of the Beslan massacre. It was a good interview, and not the sort of treatment Ridley would’ve received over on the Today programme, I’m sure.
(As an aside, I agree with Hippiepooter’s assessment that Campbell is one of the BBC’s better broadcasters. I’ve never seen the Sunday TV thing he does that so riles some people here, but I think he plays it pretty straight on the radio and does the devil’s advocate role even-handedly. However, like everybody else on the BBC this week, he has been over the top with the Murdoch-related items.)

These things are planned and set up in advance. It’s standard for shows like this – and not just on the BBC. The producer wants someone to take a certain position for whatever the show’s agenda is, and they go out and get someone who will agree to take it. This was pre-meditated.

More demonisation of Jews and bias by omission. The BBC as always only too glad to repeat Palestinian blood libels.
Israeli settlers ‘shoot Palestinian teen’ near Nablus
An 18-year-old shepherd has died after being shot by Israeli settlers near the West Bank city of Nablus, Palestinian officials say.
Witnesses say the man was attacked by four Jewish settlers. Israeli officials say they are looking into the incident.
There are over 400,000 Jewish settlers living on occupied Palestinian land in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
Disputes over grazing areas that lie between the illegal settlements and Palestinian villages are common.
Many settlers own guns which were originally issued to them by the Israeli government, says the BBC’s Jon Donnison from Ramallah.
Palestinian sources identified the man as Uday Maher Qadous from the village of Iraq Burin, south-west of Nablus.
Plenty of references to “Palestinian land” and “illegal settlements” etc.
Then read the facts:
Police: Palestinian shot in self-defense
Police said Thursday that a man, apparently a settler, who shot and killed a 19-year old Palestinian Thursday in the West Bank, had been attacked by a group of Arabs and was acting in self defense.
The man has not yet been identified and police are not sure of his whereabouts.
A police investigation has concluded that the shooter, who was armed with a gun, was walking alone on a path near the village of Iraq Burin when he was attacked.
The man tried to ward off his assailants, but one of them approached him with a stone, police said. He fired a single shot and fled the scene. The victim has been identified as Udai Maher Qadous.
Ynet has learned that the police are relying on testimony given by one of the Arab youths, as well as footage from an IDF security camera at the scene.
The Samaria Settlers’ Committee responded by stating, “Today it was once again proven that Arab blood libels against Jews are automatically adopted by leftist organizations that incite against settlers. After it was proved that this was self-defense, we expect everyone to apologize.”
Samaria Regional Council head Gershon Mesika said, “I am glad police exposed today the truth behind the Arab plot. Unfortunately these plots are usually made public in a manner that harms and libels the Jewish population.”
Yitzhar spokesman Avraham Binyamin responded to the report as well. “The police announcement proves once again that the Arabs have blood on their hands. The hands of the extreme leftist organizations are filthy as well, for touting Arab blood libels,” he said.
Palestinian sources presented a different version, however. They claim settlers from Yitzhar came to the village and began assaulting people. At some stage they opened fire and killed a resident, sources say.
Head of Iraq Burin’s local council, Abd al-Rahim Kadus, told Ynet his version. “Udai Qadous went with his cousin to the fields near the village. The fields are located underneath the settlement of Har Bracha, and at some stage shots were fired at them from the settlement. The shots wounded him in the chest. Then the settlers came down, beat them, and fled,” he said.

And yet another attempt by the bBC into making out that Muslims are the new jews.
Muslims and Jews join forces to tackle religious hatred
Jewish and Muslim students are joining forces to tackle anti-Semitism and Islamophobia on university campuses – in a bid to spread a message of tolerance. One of those with first-hand experience of religious hatred is Yassir, who as a student in 2004 was abused as he set off for his mosque in London. Four teenagers spat at him and called him “Bin Laden”.
Shortly afterwards, he was beaten up, which left him in a coma for days. He is now paralysed on the left side of his body, and will need care for the rest of his life. His story was recorded by the Islamic Human Rights Commission in a report in December 2006. It is not an isolated incident.
Islamic Human Rights Commission bBC???
The Islamic Human Rights Commission (IHRC) is a radical Islamist organization that uses the language and techniques of a human rights lobbying group to promote an extremist agenda. Formed in 1997 by its current chairman, Massoud Shadjareh, the IHRC supports jihad groups around the world, campaigns for the release of convicted terrorists and promotes the notion of a western conspiracy against Islam. Shadjareh and the IHRC subscribe to the radical Islamist belief that Jewish conspiracies are afoot to undermine Muslims, and they liken Jews and Israelis to Nazis. Members of the IHRC’s board of advisors have even called on Muslims to kill Jews. They include the Saudi Islamist Muhammad al-Mas‘ari and Muhammad al-‘Asi, an American convert to Islam who was banned from preaching at his mosque in Washington, D.C., and has been a frequent visitor to Britain

Further to my earlier post about how the bBC reports on an American shooting a couple of Pakistani gunmen in Lahore. I knew something was bugging me about that article and I finally put my finger on it;
US official kills two Pakistanis in Lahore
Our correspondent says questions are certain to be asked as to why the American was carrying arms and why, if he was a diplomat, he was not provided with armed protection.
Good point, yet the bBC reporter failed to mention this little snippet which happen 2 days ago in the very same city:
Pakistan: Lahore and Karachi bombings toll rises
The number killed in Tuesday’s two bombings against Pakistan’s minority Shia community has risen to 15.At least 11 were killed in the Lahore attack, hospital sources told BBC.Police investigators were still scouring the scene of the attack in Urdu Bazar area of the city on Wednesday morning to collect evidence.
Now a quick butchers on google maps tells me that the distance between where the bomb went off and the shootings was under a mile and yet the bBC couldn’t link the two???

And the bBC does it again in its attempt in which to protray Jews as only evil:
Turkish aid ship thriller casts Israel as enemy
A new Turkish action movie based on last year’s Israeli commando raid on a Gaza aid ship could further strain Ankara’s already frosty relations with Israel. The film, Valley of the Wolves: Palestine, opens this weekend. It has already stirred controversy for its simplistic portrayal of Israelis as brutal oppressors of the Palestinians.Nine Turkish citizens were killed in the commando raid, which sparked widespread anger in Turkey….Israeli commandos descend from helicopters, spraying gunfire at unarmed activists on the deck of an aid ship, killing nine Turkish citizens.
Really bBC? I thought they landed, were attacked and then fired back. BTY ask your window licker of a security expert (You know that thick twat who went walk about in darkest Saudi Arabia and ended up screaming “don’t shoot I’m a muslim”.) If you can aim and fire a gun while descending down a rope. They may do it in films, but let me tell you I could never do it for real abseiling out of a Puma.
Tomorrow the bBC nominates this crap for an Oscar.

Had the Israelis set out to kill they could have sunk the Mamara. Had they ‘merely’ intended to kill those resisting their commandeering the ship they could have strafed the deck from the helicopters or dropped grenades. Had they been expecting (granted they should have been) the degree of violent opposition they could have dropped stun grenades and fired rubber bullets from the helicopter.

And on tonights Midlands Today, a lengthy piece on a “report” from Birmingham University alleging that Islamaphobia is rife in Britain. Naturally we have a nice teenage muslim interviewed on the one hand, and a BNP councillor on the other.
Then we have a spokesman from the Muslim Council of Britain saying what a jolly bunch they are….naturally no awkward questions about the MCBs Holocaust Day boycotts or more extreme members.
Wonder if they’ll do a follow up piece on anti-semitism as university? Or the racist goons of the Palestine Solidarity Group who gather in Birmingham City centre displaying their hate slogans…..?

I wonder if it’s the same MCB mouthpiece the BBC had on to explain the violent riots over that Pastor threatening to burn a Koran. He said that, as Mohammedans had just spent the month of Ramadan deeply engaged in prayer and contemplation, it was only natural they’d want to kill. That’s where the BBC finds moderate Islam in Britain.
