In Fawlty Towers, it was one of Manuel’s proudest declarations. “I know nothing, Mr Fawlty”. That got laughs. But what about an interesting story that suggests Ed Miliband declared he “knew nothing” about what was going on in Tunisia just before he went on the Andrew Marr programme? And what a stroke of luck that Marr decided not to discuss the Tunisian situation! For full details visit Mark Wallace’s post here. Is it possible that the BBC is protecting the rather odd Ed? Surely not?

I think we have to be careful about making too much out of an uncorroborated story.

The lack of corroboration is why I did not blog this story. However if true it is a real indictment of the way the BBC protect Labour figures from scrutiny and exposure. Can you imagine the BBC’s response if it had been David Cameron or William Hague who had said this?

Assuming that the story is accurate, I’m sure if it was a Conservative Opposition Leader he’d have been given exactly the same leeway. (cough, choke).

I think Manuel would be a better leader of the Opposition than Red Ed.

Ed Marr and Andrew Milliband? So close you really cannot tell where one ends and the other begins.
Both lifelong Marxist/leftists and both fanatical in their political beliefs, they could be hatched from the same egg, both went to the right schols and suckled on Marxist theology from the tit.
Marr could have been interviewing himself, he was never and never will be an impartial observer and critical analyst. A mutual ego masturbation was all we were ever going to get from him.
