The violent activities of ‘UK Uncut’ in London tonight are very evident.
BBC-NUJ ‘Newsnight’ did a feature on ‘UK Uncut’ two months ago, as part of BBC-NUJ’s political anti-Government cuts campaigning which included much ‘UK Uncut’ political propaganda:
“UKUncut on Newsnight (Part 1) ” (with Paxman using the ‘c’ word early on.)
From just over 2 minutes in, for the next 8 minutes, BBC-NUJ hands over ‘Newsnight’ to ‘UK Uncut’. (Only joking: next week ‘Newsnight’ intends to do the for English Defence League’.)
“London stores attacked by protest groups during anti cuts demo”
[Extract]:
“Direct action group UK Uncut staged sit-ins & attacked several retail outlets, banks and blocked traffic in central London as they marched alongside unions in protest at Government austerity measures.” http://www.demotix.com/news/637622/london-stores-attacked-protest-groups-during-anti-cuts-demo BBC-NUJ ‘Newsnight’ show its political empathy with ‘UK Uncut’; but then Marxist Comrade, Paul Mason, is the Father of the Chapel of the NUJ branch at ‘Newsnight’
It would appear that the BBC and its employees seem to have fairly well defined senses of who ‘them’ is vs. ‘us’, if perhaps more in the divisive way Mr. Miliband’s was wont to conjure….
‘…they have my mobile number because I phoned them to ask what they were doing inside Fortnums’
No word yet on how he happened to have ‘theirs’. These being folk who with prior intent broke into a luxury retailer.
Unless he was acting as some kind of hostage negotiator and called the line in ‘Ladies Unmentionables’ on the offchance of getting a ‘leader’ as he was ‘sticking to da man…’
Not sure our national broadcaster is as aloof from all this as perhaps they should be, objective media-wise.
Our ‘Newsnight’ Marxist reporter, Comrade Mason is not sure whether these ‘events’ of today in London remind him more of Paris, 1871, or Paris 1968; he’ll pontificate on this, ad nauseam, as he helpfully warns us, on Monday (and no doubt Tuesday, Wednesday, etc)
This is Comrade Mason’s insightful ‘reporting’ (his first sentence) on earlier this evening in central London (from his blog referred to above):
“I’ve just left Trafalgar Square, where about 200 people are holding an impromptu rave,”
Indeed but the left loves failure and it looks like this current campaign is going that way as well.
The students destroyed any public sympathy they may have had due to the violence and antics of a number of wealthy trustafarians (something which seems to have vanished down the Beeb memory hole) and now the Unions are doing the same thing.
Incidentally if the Tory press office have anything about them then tomorrow Boris Johnson needs to be very publically visiting the damaged companies/stores. Pointing out how much money they put into the economy and saying how much the demo has just cost the people of London.
Well fine – I’m sure they do – but it’s the obvious framing of news which may reflect badly on the left that I find so nauseating. No doubt the duty news team phoned down as usual for a tray of lattes (paid for by us) and sat down to discuss the ‘narrative’ for the post-rally fallout.
The BBC should not be in the business of narratives, but the simple reporting of news.
It’s so hypocritical of the TUC. They organised their protest with the knowledge, and intention, there would be a riot. The majority peaceful protesters are the gullible fools who are used as a smokescreen so the fascist TUC can claim that the violence was nothing to do with them. It is to do with them and this apology should be much, much stronger if anyone is to believe that the TUC didn’t intend the riot all the time.
got to number 37 before the first moronic “Cameron wants to destroy our NHS” type comment. Of the 36 previous comments only one or two were “pro march”
Lauren Laverne is of course the female among the four hosts of Channel 4’s 10’Clock Live. That’s where BBC regulars get to strut their left wing stuff for the kids in the name of satire.
Fellow presenter David Mitchell happened to be interviewed by Mark Lawson for BBC 4 this week (for an hour!).
“I’ve never – at least as an adult – ever been a Tory”, he reassured Lawson.
“I’m not really posh, in fact really posh people are probably annoyed by me”.
Lawson: “Actrually I think there is something ‘Northern’ in your accent”.
10’Clock Live is one of the worst things on tv; it can only be a matter of time before the BBC pick it up (or produce a cheap copy).
It’s typical of these media types to turn a blind eye to this kind of violence at a protest. They see it as justified. Wonder if they think the same thing about EDL protests….?
The BBC hate the EDL because they are basically a working-class movement and the BBC really despise the working-class contrary to their claims. The BBC will support the very middle-class UAF as they are their sort of people.
So government spending is going to increase by 50 billion over the next four years. Still looking for those ‘savage cuts’ and still not finding them. It’s laughable too how some in that march were described as anarchists. Somehow I don’t think anarchists are after a the big state, massive public sector spending and the taxes this lot seem to like. Parasites.

Ms Laverne, is yet another bbc employee that I just can’t stand to look at, let alone listen to. From where did they dredge her up?

From a three-munters-and-one-homo shitty Britpop band from the nineties. Her accent is broad, her politics are left. Perfect for the BBC.

It reminds me more of Kristallnacht.

Paris 1871 or Paris 1968 ?
I don’t really mind since they were both equally ineffectual (contrary to the pathetic wet dreams of the Left and of retarded adolescents everywhere).

This morning I wake up and log on for my daily dose of bias. The main headline on the BBC News website is:

That’s right, Abingdon, the same ‘School of Rock’ from which Radiohead graduated.
Mind you, David and Mark seemed to have been at pains to reassure us that it was just a ‘minor’ public school. Quaint.
Funny how champaign socialists never seem to have gone to a ‘major’ public school.
