HI folks – just popping in from the election trail to ask you your thoughts on BBC’s Stephen Nolan. You see, I’m returning the favour because Mr Nolan keeps talking about me on his election programmes. It’s as if he would like to try and damage my Party’s election chances by selective quotes from A Tangled Web but he NEVER quotes from Biased BBC. I think this is such a shame such is the richness and accuracy of comment here. SO…If you listen to Nolan on any BBC airwaves why not detail your thought about his impartiality, or lack of, so his little researchers can have some more material for their boss. Next week, I meet him on air, so the talking will be to my face, not behind my back.

Funny how the lefties in those comments never attempt to defend or disprove the accusations of bias, but instead always attack the messenger, that is, accuse the Daily Mail of bias – even though they know full well the BBC is meant to be balanced because of its unique tax-payer funded income, whilst the Daily Mail, operating in the real world of funding, is under no obligation to be impartial. I can only assume those attacking the DM are in fact BBC employees in disguise.
Also, it reinforces the DM’s accusations of bias. Why would it be axiomatic that the DM as a conservative paper would accuse the BBC of bias unless the BBC had an anti-Conservative bias?
In the same way that Chris Packham slipped in half a dozen Smiths song references into Spring/Autumn Watch, you should see how many references to Biased BBC you can make.
You should be able to get 6 or so in before he gets really pissed off.
I wonder if he had a bet on how many times he could use the word beaver in last night’s programme? The best line was undoubtably when he said he had just seen his first British beaver – hilarious but accidentally? Really?
Slightly OT but still relevant: On the News Channel right now there’s a Beeboid in Belfast (I think) talking to candidates from the SDLP and the MLA. The discussion was about how these two parties are hoping to hold themselves up as alternatives to the two main ones in power for so long. While talking about the issue of Unionism vs. Republicanism and the history of the two parties in power, the Beeboid said that back in the time of the Troubles “Sinn Fein has been linked to the IRA”. As if they aren’t the same thing.

Anyway, more directly to the matter at hand ..
At the General Election DV I made a point of listening to Nolan’s interview with you. I knew very little of him prior, but his interview carried all the hallmarks of BBC bias against you. The antagonism seemed palpable.
Thereafter I caught his interview with Nigel Farage after Farage’s attack on Von Pomuy which seemed classic BBC partiality.
However, I have caught him on other occasions when one might expect to encoungter standard BBC bias from him (the Arizona shootings spring to mind – he had US conservative commentor Charlie Wolf (?) on) and I’d found him admirably balanced.
Unfortunately, I’m in a poor position to give any cast iron opinion on the guy, unlike say someone like John Humphrys who I spent a couple of years listening to when he first came on TODAY in the mid-90’s till I reached the inescapable conclusion that he’s screamingly bent.
All I could suggest is if you think you’ve got a good case to make against him for unfairly quoting you out of context from A Tangled Web then be ready with it, as I’m sure you will be. He may retort though that in his GE interview with you he did quote you from B-BBC, if memory serves?
If you get time perhaps you’d like to link to examples of how he’s unfairly quoted you out of context? Or email it if you’d like? I still have quiet days at work and could review it and give you input, for what that may or may not be worth?

Except we know Nolan – or someone who works for him – does see DV here. Nolan has in the past introduced David on air as the host of Biased-BBC. So no hiding going on here at all.

Selective quotes from A Tangled Web
Legitimate. The blog is your public thoughts. At the very least you will be able to prepare answers in advance on issues you know he has researched – minimally.
NEVER quotes from Biased BBC.
Also legitimate. As valuable as you are to the blog, you are not the only writer and have no control over comments. It is probably not in your interest to be seen as obsessive about the BBC. One issue candidates don’t tend to do well.
