I noticed that the BBC ran an item on the Toxteth riots. Odd that an organisation with all the vast resource of the BBC can’t even get the decade in which this happened right. More to the point, note the way in which the BBC sets the story up….it was all caused by “perceived heavy handed” policing. I mean, is it possible to even blame the gentlefolk of Toxteth as they rampaged for the thuggery that characterised this period?

No suprise. BBC North West have run stories in the week just gone on the riots in Toxteth and Mossside. The first article was run by an ex-Hollyoaks “actress”. Both articles blames “heavy” handed Police treatment amonst unemployment crime and the “right wing.” The Mossside report I turned over because I’d had enough of the Toxteth report.
Now back in the 1980s I was unemployed for a while and the Police used to stop me from time to time on SUS, however I didn’t go on a riot I just got a job. Another series of top quality reports, not, from the team who BBC complaints have told me have no political agenda.

As I`ve said before, I was in Moss Side at the time of the riots.
The BBCs excuse-like Toxteth, Brixton etc…hold little water.
I do remember all the pubs, shebeens, bookies surviving nicely-but the toyshops, well-established clothes shops being trashed…so all those years of locals working lives were destroyed and none of them ever came back.
The BBC of course won`t care about that-the gestures and photos as the elite play politics is all that they`d care about…before a nice Chianti back home in Islington!
Weekend rebels, and fatuous grandstanders!

A fortnight ago courtesy of Al-Beeb we had the anniversary celebration of ‘The Specials’ drearfest “Ghost Town”.
Now this.
Having lost the Eighties at the time, and decisively, it looks like the left and their taxpayer-funded propaganda agency are trying to re-write things, anniversary by anniversary, in the hope that those who weren’t there will accept THEIR preferred version of history.
Nuts to that.

I was living in sarf London during the eighties riots. I’ve never bought this revisionist bullshine that this scum had any genuine grievance or political agenda. After an evening’s mayhem most of them headed towards Curry’s and Dixon’s and made off with biggest sound system or telly they could carry.

Toxteh is in Liverpool. Liverpudlians are (by definition) victims, therefore the Toxteth Riots were not their fault. QED
