Well then,Stateside the “Super Committee” tasked with reducing the massive US deficit has, predictably, failed to agree on a plan. Naturally the BBC rows in behind Obama’s view that this is entirely the fault of the Republicans, as this report makes abundantly clear. Mark Mardell is grasping at straws for The One here as he prays the fewer people respect Congress than Obama.

Still no mention that The Obamessiah never got a budget passed in three years, two of which saw Him with a super-majority in Congress. Mardell tries to spin it away.
The Germans know a crap artist when they see one:
In an apparent suggestion of United States hypocrisy on debt issues, a journalist in the German media challenged White House Press Secretary Jay Carney on the role of the United States in responding to the European debt crisis.
“The U.S., as far as I know, has a worse debt-to-GDP ratio than the whole eurozone, and we are talking about the eurozone, not about the United States and that Congress can’t get its act together,” said a member of the German press during the briefing. “So from the European perspective, it seems that this country is in a bigger mess than Europe. We are not proud where we are. We know that it’s slow and not bold, and so on, but at least they are doing something; they are deciding something, they’re trying to pull that through. And here, nothing is happening — third time this year,” he added, referring to the Supercommittee failure.
Sure, it’s all the Republicans’ fault, due to their conservative ideology, yeah. Where’s the leadership from the White House? It’s like the President washed His hands of the whole thing and went off to a working vacation in Hawaii and Bali. And the worshippers at the BBC will never call Him on it.
Bali’s in Indonesia isn’t it? I expect he was catching up with a few of his childhood friends from the madrassah.
Whenever there are unpleasant things to be done as Chief Executive, the President instead always seems to run off to bask in the warm glow of some foreign audience who still love Him. Nothing but speechifying and positive press, job done, ego stroked.
He spent more time working on Congress to pass the abysmal ObamaCare – which is part of our current economic problem – than He has getting a budget deal done. In fact, He’s spent zero time on it as He passed the buck to a doomed Gang of 12. It’s embarrassing. While they were working all hours heading towards the deadline, He was off in the tropics, schmoozing with the Asian and Pacific elite. The only thing He accomplished the whole time was agreeing to send a few troops over to piss off China. Which probably won’t even happen once those defense cuts kick in. It’s a joke, but Mardell praised it anyway.
Where is Mardell’s – or any Beeboid’s – criticism about that? Where is the Beeboid asking an incisive question about leadership? To the US President editor, leadership = an inspiring speech. The rest of them are too busy producing lightweight magazine pieces and cheerleading for the Occupiers.

We know who blames whom, he’s saying nothing new here.
The White House intends to keep the pressure on Republicans, giving them the choice of – in many cases – breaking their promise to never put up taxes, or putting their country at risk.
The US President editor is just telling us what the President intends to do, curiously without the editorializing or scorn we get when it’s the Republicans. However, the President said this:
“We need to keep the pressure up to compromise – not turn off the pressure.
“The only way these spending cuts will not take place is if Congress gets back to work and agrees on a balanced plan to reduce the deficit by at least $1.2tr.”
So where’s the pressure on the Democrats to compromise? Why hasn’t Mardell noticed this or called BS on the President? The best he’ll allow is this:
The White House may not have wanted failure, but it is well within their game plan.
At the moment they are quite happy that the political contest is Obama v Congress, not an actual Republican candidate.
This is Beltway political junkie crap. Just analysis of campaign strategy, not informing you about what’s actually going on. Mardell simply refuses to say out loud that the President defines “compromise” as “getting His way”.
Note that Mardell happily points out the awful things Republicans want and won’t budge on, but refuses to discuss Democrat intransigence. It’s as if only one side exists.
