    Hi folks,

I’m new to this site so will keep it short until I join in the debates next year. I would like to say what a great site, wish you all a happy New Year and just mention that I’m mightily heartened to have found (yet another!) growing community of people who share my outrage at the BBC’s pathethic lies and London liberal fair trade coffee sipping Marxist propaganda.

Have a great night tonight and look forward to helping you all uncover more BBC left wing bias next year (not a difficult mission I suspect!!)

      Welcome Merlin!
Thanks to you Mr Vance and to all your long-term contributors.
My increasing in knowledge in the USA, Israel, AGW are due to the real experts outside the maw of the state, and its hideous but happily hopeless BBC…so thanks to you all.
God Bless and keep us all-with the Olympics, Sarkozy, Merckel and Obama; I see continued growth in the hysteria and hyperbolic Marxist cartwheels as perfomed by all our old favourites there at the BBC Circus…papier mache to double as plaster of Paris everytime they chip a nail.
I listened to the Beeb experts pretending that they predicted anything of note this year…so I predict Belgium, Kenya/Nigeria and Cuba/Venezuela as my hotspots for 2012.
Happy New Year to us all!

I’m very happy to have stumbled across this blog late this year, most particularly to find here the kind of honest, open AGW skepticism that has been all but outlawed on MSM channels, especially by the biggest and most persistant pro-AGW propagandist of them all: the BBC.

Beyond that, to read across the blog, I’ve had my entire view of the BBC comprehensively changed by the articles and comments posted here on a wide variety of subjects. It’s all food for thought for the inquisitive, questioning mind. Long may it continue.

A happy new year to all.

I found this site over a year ago now and recommend it to any democratically and fair-minded people I come across.  I agree with the comments made by the others that my understanding of some things and the deepening of my knowledge in other areas have come on a lot over this time.  I never feel the need to go looking for bias in the BBC – an open mind will let you see it in everything they do.

In fact, my biggest worry with the BBC is its relentless bias in drama and “comedy”.   Both Goebbels and the British WW2 propagandists discovered that this is a far more effective way of indoctrinating than in current affairs or documentaries as these tend to be watched by people with a little more intelligence than the sort the BBC mainly target.  It also worries me that they lie in and propagandise programmes that are aimed at children.  This is the surest way to brainwash, and many children will grow up not realising that they have been manipulated and that these now firmly-entrenched beliefs are nothing but lies.

Apart from that, I wish everyone here a very happy and more prosperous New Year.

Labour’s complaint is demonstrable BS, as Craig’s excellent research has previously showed.   Their 13-year toxic reign has wrecked this once-great country, enthusiastically assisted by the lefty liars at the BBC and at my expense.

Just a couple of comments by the Cognitive Dissonance Community on the Guardian site: “The BBC has been right-wing for years”, and “The Tories are given an easy ride on the Today programme”, gives the measure of their bone-headed wrongness on just about any subject.

Happy New Year to our good hosts, who provide a kind of group support for those of us that often feel stranded in a wilderness of PC leftiness thanks to much of the predictable coverage fed to us by the MSM. The coverage of the occupy movement alone would have had us believe that our frustrations and anger about their abuse of the right to protest were a minority point of view.

I’ve been a lurker for a couple of years now, and only joined/started commenting this summer, just before the ̶c̶r̶y̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶o̶p̶p̶r̶e̶s̶s̶e̶d̶  scumbag riots. I’ve learned a great deal in regard to what to look out for in terms of bias ; the ommisions, the careful word ordering of storytitles, the building of dishonest narratives…especially in relation to coverage of Israel and the Middle East, a subject I’m not that familiar with and am therfore less aware of potential bias alerts. Our US eyes and ears in the form of David P. will no doubt be very useful to us in the coming year, with election campaigns in full flow.

The Question Time live blog is always a highlight, so long may it continue.

Rocket attacks on Gaza – school and house hit, civilians injured Well its the 1st day of the new year and I bet you didnt hear about the UNWRA school that got hit by rocket fire did you? Well if the IDF had been responsible it would have been front page news on the BBC, it would be hold the front page and straight to some UNWRA spokesman and legions of tearful ‘Palestinians’ and shots of ambulances and Western leaders condemning Israel. The silence from the BBC is deafening, why are they not outraged?

If you keep a close eye on reports from the Middle East you might be wondering why you haven’t seen news broadcasts and pages of coverage on the BBC and CNN and in the Guardian and New York Times about these attacks that are harming Palestinians.
Perhaps this insightful blog post will explain why there has been no coverage about this outrageous onslaught.  It is food for thought about the media and its agendas.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b018wzy9/Review_Review_2011_Episode_3/

I’ve just seen BBC Political Correspondent Norman Smith’s review of the British politica year.

I have to confess, I’ve seen very little of Mr Smith during my sojourn in foreign climes.  I’m aware he’s a bugbear of Craig, but as forensic as Craig’s analysis of bias is, one can’t let that be the basis of forming one’s own personal view.

I spent two years listening to John Humphrys on the TODAY programme before I had to face up to the facts staring me in the face that John Humphrys is screamingly bent.

Viewing Mr Smith in the above does leave me with a feeling of significant unease.  The word “bent” is a word that does form in the head about him.  I could cite various factors, but very quickly, his talking up of Labour’s ‘talking point’ that Cameron is ‘Flashman’, he’s failure to mention how popular in the country Cameron’s “No” to Europe was, his failure to mention how devasting the “No” vote to electoral reform was and pushing the opinion it was all about a rejection of Nick Clegg, his failure to mention how popular Cameron is in the polls at years end compared to Miliband and Clegg … and other things besides  … yes, I’ll slip it in to .. in the opening he referred to “protesters” against Cameron’s economic policies without attributing their affiliation.  What is left in the public mind is some spontaneous public uprising against Cameron rather than fringe activists doing what fringe activists do (with the BBC doing their PR).

As for presentation style, I dont know if it’s because I’m such a fuddy duddy in my old age (well, 47!), but when he opened his review it took me back to watching the start of Blue Peter in my childhood.  One got the impression Mr Smith has a mental picture of his audience having dummies in their mouths.

How one laments the departure of such great BBC figures as Robin Aitken and John Cole who treated their audience as adults and whose impartiality was beyond question.

Thanks for posting the link. I started watching but only lasted about three minutes. It was the typically laboured and leaden Beeboid presentation that did for me. Not just the presenter with his strained and cliched intro about runners and riders or the Blue Peterish approach but the infernal irritating tinkling piano, that irritates like a dripping tap, only to be followed by heavy monotonous thudding like a carpenter banging away with a hammer when it came to scenes of some protest march about jobs or summat.

What the Labour Party mean is the BBC isn’t being as biased in their favour as they should be.

If their airtime analysis pans out, I wonder how it compares to Tory access to the airwaves when in Opposition – and that doesn’t even begin to take into account the tone and nature of the interviews … cue Craig!

I emailed the BBC a while back to ask about why he was meeting with Harriet Harman (Ms Harman had written a tweet about the meeting).

    I’ve received a reply:

‘It’s true that Mark Thompson did meet Harriet Harman, but in his role as Director General of the BBC he regularly meets politicians from all the major political parties. There is nothing to suggest there has been any bias or lack of impartiality’.

This raises a couple of questions:

    – Why would the Director General of an apolitical organisation meet any political leader?  Surely if they want to voice suggestions or raise concerns, they can use the same channels as the rest of us.

    – Why are the meetings of such meetings not published, in the name of transparency and accountability?

Happy New Year to you all!

This morning’s ‘Sunday’ shows why this site is so needed. The website says:

On this special New Year Edition of Sunday, our Presenter Samira Ahmed discusses the role of religion in politics with guests Canon Giles Fraser, Andrew Copson from the British Humanist Association and Inayat Bungalwala of Muslims UK.

That’s not a spoof. That really was the panel.

They started with Cameron’s speech on the need to defend our country’s Christian values. After a clip, Samira Ahmed asked the humanist Andrew Copson what he made of this “assertion”. He replied that Cameron’s speech was “bizarre”, “untrue”, “meaningless” and “simplistic”. Giles Fraser said he “not a million miles from Andrew on this one”, stressed the importance of multiculturalism, and also attacked Cameron, saying he “was completely wrong.” Fraser believes in the disestablishment of the Church of England. Bungalwala attacked Cameron’s attitude to multiculturalism, saying it sends “a very worrying signal” to minorities. Everyone savaged Cameron and his speech, as the producers of this endlessly biased programme could have predicted.

Could the panel have been more skewed, more suited to BBC-Think?

Lots of questions from presenter Samira Ahmed to Giles Fraser about the St. Pauls’ protests and a question about “concerns” that faith groups seem to be “pushing quite a conservative agenda which could be seen to be at odds with majority society, you know, concern over abortion, concern over gay adoption and marriage, over stem cell research, that’s what concerns people.”

    ‘Sunday’ is beyond parody.

I particularly liked the second update:

Simon Hinde on Twitter points out that Chris Moyles made sexual comments about Church’s 16th birthday on his Radio One show. This is true. He told listeners that he wanted “lead her through the forest of sexuality now that she had reached 16”. The remark was the source of a complaint to Ofcom that was upheld. As Simon says, the BBC here was a worse offender than the Sun. Not for the only time.

Seems the Guardian overlooked that part of the story.
