Gordon Brown’s BBC Mafia hitmen have mobilised again drawing a veil of silence over his malevolent reputation….silence is Golden Brown.
Last week the Today programme burst into action when Alistair Campbell made his three line disclosure that Rupert Murdoch had phoned Blair and ‘may’ have urged him to speed up the drive to war in Iraq….though he hadn’t heard he call himself. The BBC made a big splash with that little comment..regardless of its veracity.
How different is the treatment of this story in which it is revealed in Campbell’s Diaries that Blair thought Brown was ‘bonkers’, a malign force and intent on destroying him.
Not only that but there is a clear contradiction of Brown’s ‘evidence’ at Leveson where he claimed he had never plotted against Blair. The BBC were quick to point out that they thought Murdoch had lied when he claimed never to have asked a Prime minister for anything…not so quick to point out discrepancies in Brown’s delusional account.
The BBC seem intent on protecting Brown….if they can burnish his reputation and rebuild him in the eyes of the Public then that will also revitalise Labour’s reputation and by osmosis Miliband will benefit from the rewriting of history in which Brown was purely a victim of bad luck, bad timing and bad Murdoch Press coverage.
Just remember there’s never a Frown with Golden Brown.
Brown has made several statements to Leveson that would appear to be untrue
Is the BBC chasing them……?
Brown seems to have been a very incurious PM – he never know about anything
Mind you his legacy needs to be protected – other wise Milliband and Balls (who were senior members of his government apparently, although this is hardly ever mentioned on the BBC) will be tarnished

‘Is the BBC chasing them……?’
Where the BBC spotlight falls in holding to power to account is as mysterious as predictable as where it does not.
Sadly, editorial by omission is tricky to collate and ‘prove’.
And they know it.
Any complaint to CECUTT on such a basis will get the ‘we’ve looked and we’re golden’ brush off, which is why I tend to focus on when the facts are clear, in print, on record and captured.
Unsatisfying and missing (other than publicity here) a very harmful aspect of the BBC assault on impartial reporting, and hence further erosion of balanced public information and education, but sadly they have such techniques pretty much sown up.

Did Campbell and Mandelson appear at Leveson?

Reposted from earlier Open Thread:
Oh look, Guido discovers that, on the basis of a 2009 report in the Guardian, Brown lied to Leveson or, at least, was very economical with the truth.
Although this conclusion is based on a report in the BBC’s paper edition, I suspect that we will see nothing concerning this from the other bits of the BBC

The Prophet Enoch once spoke of a people busy in building its own funeral pyre..
The insouciance and bare faced lying of a Blair, a Brown, a Campbell-as well as the likes of Bercow as a speaker that lets some squalid little creep like Chris Bryant(Gaydar Central…where the likes of Bevan and Foot used to be MPs) call another MP a liar in the Commons..all points to a new low in the calibre of the political class.
These people are the faggots that we should be using to light the beacons-or at least the warning lights to show us that this is one sick nation.
Instead these liars and loose moralled pondlife are allowed to crow on top of the dunghill that they are now making of this country.
We all believe Murdoch over Brown…and even Chemical Ali over Blair and Campbell…welcome to Britain in 2012.
As Hugh Cornwell once sang…”Something better change”

Long live political slanging matches – they distract Levenson from his task of implementing press censorship. Keep stirring it up, Auntie. How about some tweets about his lordship’s downloading habits, too?

About joining the euro – Alastair Campbell writes in his diaries
Then Simon Buckby [pro-euro campaigner] called me at 9.30 to say the BBC were getting him on to respond to a report by Marr that the assessment had happened, it was negative and it was definitely not happening this parliament. This was clearly the next stage of the bounce. I called TB who said I should call Marr and say he could end up with egg on his face if he was definitive about this parliament. Andy said he had been briefed by someone with “iron authority”, which I assume was his way of saying it was GB. GB denied briefing Marr. I put in a call for Ed Balls who came back just as the bulletin began. He was on a train. He said unless GB was a kamikaze pilot there was no way they would do this the day before a cabinet meeting that was already going to be difficult. He was adamant that neither he nor GB had spoken to Marr.
Perhaps Andrew Marr would like to clear up who his “iron authority” was.

Gordon had the unique ability to wake me up every morning with a story of some disadvantaged child/parent/banker in the UK or in a far off land that was suffering some incredible deprivation. As he talked it became clear that this situation was MY fault and towards the end of his speech it was made perfectly clear that I would have to pay to rectify this situation. He kept this up for THIRTEEN YEARS. Pure genius – but I am glad he’s gone.

My auditory memories of the years 2007-2010 are dominated by the opening words of (it seemed) every news bulletin on BBC – “Gordon Brown has . . . . . ” or, as a welcome change, “Prime Minister Gordon Brown has . . . .“

…and now, after a change of government, we get…
“Ed Miliband has said…”

That is exactly correct. I remember that feeling well. It was almost as if the masses were being conditioned, and should bow to a supreme Majesty.
What is astonishing is how this inept and delusional individual both got to the top of the pole and got away with conning the country and the world for so long.

Somewhere there is a video of Gibbo when he was a student ranting at the huddled masses (well a couple of diehards in the refrectory). He’s stood on a table foaming on and on about how he intends to destroy the ‘English’ economy. If anyone has a link please post it as it is a hoot.
Prophetic or empty bluster? Either way it was the one thing he suceeded at!

Couldn’t find that one, but these two are always worth another view…

No – I’ve a much more fitting future for them – send them into permanent exile to live in Somalia, Nigeria, Angola or any other similar country whose people they seemed extremely keen for their fellow British citizens to live amongst. I’m a firm believer in people adhering to the principles they espouse, after all…and what better way to ̶h̶a̶v̶e̶ ̶y̶o̶u̶r̶ ̶n̶o̶s̶e̶ ̶r̶u̶b̶b̶e̶d̶ ̶i̶n̶ experience that diversity of which they’re both so fond.
Think of it as a kind of exchange programme.

Yes they had great coverage of his Reuters blog piece and also of Campbell and the Blair/Murdoch Iraq war ‘calls’. Their selectivity is getting cringe-worthy in its obviousness.

I just saw a Channel 4 advert for a programme next Tuesday called Gordon behind bars.
You can imagine my disappointment when it turns out to be a Gordon Ramsey cookery show.

You should submit that to the Viz letters page – brilliant.
