Rio Ferdinand agrees Ashley Cole is a ‘Choc Ice’. This is intended as a highly derogatory and insulting comment…it is a racist comment…it infers that someone is acting white or deferring to White society….and is therefore a ‘race traitor’….and that there is something wrong with being ‘White’.
So it infers that it is a peculiarity of a particular Race to act in a certain way.
And to act in a different way is a betrayal of your Race.
No wonder the BBC (at least on the web) haven’t touched this story as it paints a different picture of race in Britain…Blacks are racist too!
It’s not just White people.
The story was in the web editions of the papers last night…it is on the front page of the Guardian and top story in its media section….and yet nothing, zilch, nada, sweet fanny adams from the BBC.
If you google ‘choc ice photo’ there are hundreds of pictures of Ferdinand…..just how far behind is the BBC?
The irony is that Ferdinand clearly has more ‘white heritage’ in him than Cole…..which begs the question why people insist on classifying themselves as ‘Black’ when they have a White parent….perhaps a confirmation of that other stereotype of the stupidity of footballers when they insult they’re own parents.
Is it any wonder race relations in this country are so poisoned when high profile media providers refuse to open up certain cans of worms and challenge the issues and self characterisations of so called victims.
Here is a man with a white parent, looking more North African than Black, claiming to be Black and denigrating anyone who acts ‘White’, what ever acting White might be.
The guy clearly has ‘issues’ and is not helped by the BBC confirming his prejudices by insisting anyone ‘white’ is a racist.
For the BBC White means racist. Black, Brown, Muslim and you’re the victim of racists.
One last question…just when do you stop being ‘Black’….is there a particular pigment, a tone of skin required…do we need a colour chart from Homebase to grade ourselves? Or is it cultural and social behaviour that categorizes you?
Maybe what Ferdinand is saying is that David Starkey was right…perhaps if more Black youth were ‘choc ices’ and didn’t get caught up in the ‘Gangsta’ culture they might lead happy, successful and fulfilling lives…and the same for the White kids that adopt that same ‘Gangsta’ lifestyle.
why people insist on classifying themselves as ‘Black’ when they have a White parent….perhaps a confirmation of that other stereotype of the stupidity of footballers when they insult they’re own parents.

Because they are encouraged to by the leftist media and the multicultural society imposed upon us by Labour. And it is a useful stick with which to beat up poor old whitey and make him feel guilty about his colonial past.
Just exacerbates division in my book.

Hello,
Have been reading the site for a while and here is my first posting.
I’m curious – well not really – why the Terry/Ferdinand incident has not been compared with the El Hadj Douf/Everton ball boy incident. Douf screamed ‘F**k Off, White Boy’ and though the police investigated he was not charged, and I believe nothing from the FA or the PFA. If I recall Douf’s defence was one of provociation as the ball boy had thown the ball to him ‘like you would a dog’. So a very similar defence to Terry’s, and for that matter Diane Abbott’s about the ‘playing the white man’s game’ as she wasn’t being racist as the words were just taken out of context. Also there is a fat Irish comedian called something like Dara O’Grady who had a coumn in the Guardian at the time of the Douf racist outburst who dismised it a s atrifle saying ‘toughen up white boy’. I’m sure Terry will never get a commnetating job with the BBC so shouldn’t O’Grada (?) be banned also.

‘…as the ball boy had thown the ball to him ‘like you would a dog’. How the heck do you come to this conclusion? Did he shout ‘fetch’ as he threw it?
There have been several cases in recent months of violent, racially-motivated crime against whites but judges decided there was no racist element. Example: group of Muslim women violently attacked a young white woman in the street shouting ‘white slag’ and ‘kill the white bitch’. It was the sort of crime you’d get a at least a year for but the judge excused them with a community sentence because alcohol played a part – in his book, Muslim women aren’t used to drinking alcohol and that was what caused them to lose control.
These double standards just breed resentment and then they wonder why the likes of the EDL gets so much support.

It tells you more about the “red pigs in wigs” appointed during the Dark Ages, the 13 years of Labour rule. Labour may have gone, but everyone they appointed to high office in thirteen years is still there, like sleepers, ready to do their masters bidding. You might as well replace Theresa May overnight with Cherie Blair and see if anyone notices the difference.

You stop being black when the staff stop watching you for shoplifting the moment you walk in the door.
As for this “acting white” business, we have the same phenomenon in the US. There was a good article on it in a local NY paper a while back, and apparently studies show that in mixed-race schools, black kids studying and behaving in school and getting good grades were ridiculed by some other blacks for “acting white”. They literally faced peer pressure to behave poorly and underachieve. But this didn’t happen in schools where there were few or no whites.

Those from ethnic minorities and, of course, Muslims can say anything about a white person/Christian without fear of any reprimand; it ain’t the same the other way round though ; we get the PC Gestapo squads a-knocking at the door even if we criticize the religion of ‘peace’! You be a scumbag paedo groomer or a terrorist illegal immigrant you get sympathy from the PC human rights squadron and a soft sentence. However, you call someone names and you get the whole book chucked at you!
You can go on Youtube and find countless videos of wannabe ‘gangstas’ (C) rapping anti-white racist ass seepage… where are the PC police force???? Not bloody interested!

And your point is?
It wasn’t on the website at all at time of posting….whereas the papers were reporting it a good 15 hours earlier. …. a white player saying something racist & it would have been front page immediately.
You have no point, but thanks for the grammar tip, you’re obviously a bit of a …well you can infer what I mean.

Perhaps ‘coconut’ sounds slightly more derogatory than choc ice but, personally, I think the courts have got more serious things to do. Which mediaeval king said, concerning law-suits: ‘the crown does not concern itself with trifles.’?

Equally, if John Terry had had an affair with Wayne Bridge, then you just know Anton Ferdinand would have qualified for the George Zimmerman ‘white hispanic’ makeover.

It will be interesting to see how the BBC handle this one.
If they condemn him, it is an admission that racism is not exclusive to white people – something which goes against everything they preach. If they fail to condemn him, it begs the question “What does being white inside mean?” They have spent years telling us that underneath the skin, we are all the same. So are they saying that we are not all the same – something which goes against everything they preach.
Come on Messrs Scott, Dez, Gregory,Whitman etc, please enlighten us.

It would appear the cherry vulture contribution du jour is more in the area of again (if inadvertently) highlighting the BBC’s curiously slow response times when watertight oversight at the weekends needs a manager contacted at a Tuscan villa soiree, or petty grammar Nazi input. So already this may be a topic where the rest may feel the bunker again has an appeal. Movin’ on…

Just all a one way street with the thick as pig shit likes of Ferdinand and feel i’ve lost all respect for him even though Man U have always been my 2nd favourite team. It should most definitely now be his turn to be questioned by the police and then be going to court and then be answering to the FA.
Thick twittering twat must be getting more coaching from Diane Abbott than Man U!

For me, Rio Ferdinand publicly insulting a fellow professional in such a deliberately offensive manner is more of a story than the ‘choc ice’ jibe. Ashley Cole is a bit of a brat but he at least deserves some respect from one of his peers – and a senior peer at that. When it comes to Twitter, though some people just cannot help themselves.
I did see this on the BBC website earlier today, btw. It’s one of the lead stories on the Sport webpages.

I fear it may be more simple than that. Leftists need to call people names. It makes them feel more strongly righteous. They need to bolster their righteousness because, inevitably, they are found to be wrong. It is too painful to let go their narcisistic image of themselves. “But I care about the poor a

In my experience, non-whites are more racist than whites. Asians think blacks are inferior, blacks hate whites, blacks hate different tribes, arabs hate just about everyone.
But the worst racists are socialists of whatever colour. They just can’t stop themselves hating white people.

Oh boy this racism stuff’s complicated. There’s me, anglo-saxon heritage, blond when I had hair. Friend of mine. She’s Nigerian. African parentage. So who’s the ‘black’ one? Well I’m a helluva lot darker than she is, for a start. Culturally? Me, the majority of the music I’d play would be classed as ‘music of black origin’. Her, keener on classical, which is by definition almost all white European males, isn’t it? Food? Like a lot of Africans she’s not particularly experimentally minded. Prefers plain food simply cooked. It’s me would be wanting Caribbean, North African cuisine.
As far as I can work out, by most measures I’m black & she’s white.

the problem is that it is not complicated. If normal people like you and I were allowed to live our lives peacefully, then there wouldn’t be a problem. But when socialists get involved, they cause trouble; that’s why they love muslims, in my opinion; both groups love causing trouble. Limited immigration is OK – we don’t care – the immigrants integrate or they bugger off. But once the socialists flood the market, and force people like me to have an opinion about the influx, then I’ afraid you can’t be surprised that we don’t like it. Come here, integrate, be like us, support our country, be English. Then you’re OK. But, come here, diss us, try to undermine our national culture and don’t be surprised that we react. Isn’t that simple? I have relatives who are Anglo-Chinese, Anglo-African and they are as English as I am; not only because of the blood tie; because they behave as we do. But I cannot tolerate immigrants who flaunt their difference and almost demand that I object. The muslims are the most visible example of this aggressive separatism that we see in our country and I hate it. And I will vote for any one who will rid me of this infestation.
Expat – I think that’s called integration, which allows people to respect, share and get enjoyment from each other’s differences, whilst at the same time recognising and respecting what it is that binds us together. It’s how societies evolve. The Left hate it.

Choc Ice, anyone?
Not if you are tuned to 5 Live.
This must be an important story because, as Nicky Campbell and Rachel Burden off handedly tell me, they:
‘….have had a couple of texts and tweets about that….’
Quick, move on!
Now that it has gone black-on-black or is that black-on-white (or chocolate against vanilla? – I’m so confused), I get the impression that Salford local radio has lost interest in the racism in football story.
What to talk about?
Domestic violence!
I will stick my neck out here and guess that once the kids have been distracted and the whippy van has moved on out of sight they will soon return to the subject of John Terry.
Normal service will be resumed

The spinners are already at work!
Yesterday’s BBC sports page included a piece by John Amaechi (the first NBA player to “come out” as being gay and therefore someone who arguably knows a fair bit about prejudice) stating in no uncertain terms that Choc Ice was “a deeply offensive term with racial connotations”
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18847477
However that wasn’t quite on message and today another article appears by Mr Amaechi entitled “FA must takes decisive action over John Terry case” (note the title carefully) which ignores all references to Rio and his comments.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18848273
The icing on the cake is the banner headline
scrolling across the main sports site as follows “Former NBA basketball star and psychologist John Amaechi calls on FA to take swift and decisive action against John Terry”.
Note the difference:-
Banner “decisive action AGAINST John Terry”
Actual article “decisive action OVER John Terry case”
Normal service in the process of being resumed.

Again proof of the deliberate PC editing by the bBC. So someone, Rio, who makes a big noise about the Terry case they quote. Then within one day of the judgement Rio makes a racist jibe. not a word.
