THE FIRST CUT ..

I see the BBC was covering the issue of a German Court banning circumcision on Today this morning. It seems Angela Merkel is unhappy with this decision and the entire item was slated in terms of how Jewish people feel about it and the relationship between the German State and Jews. Towards the end of the item, the BBC added that Muslims were also opposed to the idea and were “united” with Jews in seeking to overturn this decision. It strikes me that perhaps the BBC could have added that Germany has some 4 MILLION Muslims and 120,000 Jews. I suspect the concerns Merkel holds are more driven by the views of the 4 million than the 120,000. A little context always helps.

The BBC always reports facts… Just not all the facts!

The BBC decided to focus on the Jews because unlike the Muslims they are pushy complainers who just don’t know what is good for them. Naturally their tentacles go right to the top of the German Government where they play on their completely unfounded guilt over the so-called Holocaust.

I would have inserted </SARC> tags but I am not sure I am being sarcastic.

Perhaps the BBC did not know that Muslims are also usually circumcised.

Anyone know the reason for the ban? I was under the impression that circumcision (male) was the preferred health option?

Or, as the OP says are they only ‘banning circumcision on Today’. Bit pointless on the radio I’d’ve thought. ๐Ÿ™‚

Personally I think that any German Chancellor would be absoluely mad to be seen supporting any legislation that actively discriminates against jewish people (even if this was not the intention). The Moslem opinion here is irrelevant because the Germans did systematically murder millions of Jews and held them to be the incarnation of evil. It is therefore realistic for the BBC to focus on jewish opinion

I am simply stating that no German, politician or otherwise, would risk even a hint of anti-semitism given their history – this is why the jewish opinion is so much more relevant than the opinions of the millions of Moslems in Germany

By the way I am not too pleased with the suggestion that I swim in the BBC cess pit. Just because I am not blaming the followers of the prophet for everything (including the bad weather) doesn’t mean that I am a fully paid up pupil of the Frankfurt school

Erm given the huge popularity of Hitler and his plans in the Islamic world also the many instances of Nazi contact with Arab leaders who supplied troops and good faith to the German war machine I think that is of much more relevance to this story more of a splits and divisions motif for the Beeb to run with!

What the BBC probably won’t say is that this law was brought in because of a botched circumcision of a four year old Muslim child. This child nearly bled to death and was brought to a local hospital.

I missed the programme, but is the discussion about circumcision performed by doctors and experienced people, or by relatives, as is often the case with FGM?

Weird one really. It’s ok for the ROP to lop off the foreskin of a four month old against his will and mutilate his body yet catholic parents aren’t allowed to specify they want their kids to be adopted by straight catholic parents in the event oftheir untimely death. (the parents and not the kids)
