GIRL POWER

The BBC seem always to be ambivalent about Muslim violence and free speech and tend to side with the view that such protests are the result of centuries of Western colonisation, imperial exploitation and cultural imposition.

Wonder what they will make of this:

An Iranian cleric is claiming that two young girls beat him up after he told one of them to cover up and dress more conservatively.

The report is a reversal of the more common claim that women are beaten by the country’s strict religious police when their clothing is considered inappropriate.

According to his account in an article run by Mehr News Agency, which is partially government owned, the man allegedly asked them ‘politely’ to cover up.

‘She responded to me by telling me to cover my eyes, which was very insulting to me,CNN reports he said.

He repeated his request and that was when the girl fought back

‘She pushed me and I fell to the ground on my back. From that point on, I don’t know what happened. I was just feeling the kicks of the woman who was beating me up and insulting me,’ he said according to Radio Free Europe.

Following the alleged attack which took place in August, the cleric said he was hospitalized for three days but he did not list what injuries- if any- he sustained.

At least Radio Free Europe has their eye on the ball.

Wouldn’t it be terrible if all Muslim women, forced into subservience, felt empowered enough to do the same.

The BBC will have a link to a ‘support and counselling ‘ service soon

Love that woman. She ought to meet some of our feminists who defend the right to wear traditional Islamic dress. By the way, when listing the reasons for wearing those ridiculous clothes, don’t forget to include the belief that to do otherwise will cause earthquakes. In a multicultural relativist society all arguments have equal validity eh. The earthquake story and more:

3 posts in a row and none of them actually reference anything said or done by the BBC.

Do you actually listen to the BBC or watch BBC TV Alan. Maybe you could find something to base your posts on other than random rants.

Ever thought of applying to be a Muslim cleric?
You seem to fit the bill.
Just… maybe watch out if taking your issues out on certain girls.

Well if I was a muslim then I would be at the mosque now facing towards Mecca. Ha! Which I am not so I am not.

I am a christian of a lazy persuasion.

That does not change the fact that this is a totally BBC irrelevant post.

What idiot gave Alan the wordpress password ?

“Christian of a lazy persuasion” sounds like someone who stands up for islam.

Are you related to Rowan Williams or Prince Charles?

It’s what they call providing ‘atmosphere’, the context of current affairs from which you can judge BBC behaviour by linking to events that go against the BBC world view.

And it’s a funny story. It’s here to provide a bit of a smile to people. We’re not frothing at the mouth extremists here at Biased BBC focused solely on the razor sharp dissection of BBC bias……we provide the human touch as well.

      Enjoy.

Perhaps my post should have mentioned the BBC, as their defence of Islamic customs, the hijab, etc. is part of the daily diet. Moreover, their defence of cultural relativism is so ingrained it is tedious to constantly draw attention to it.

This sounds a made up story

The Cleric is the person with the power of the state behind him and given that the Iranians already arrest women with the wrong attire, it beggars belief that (a) he asked the women politely to cover up and (b) she assaulted him.

Rather this is a manufactured incident designed to justify a crack down.

I’d agree with Joe. I was expecting a link with the BBC’s take on it but it’s just a news post. It does not belong here, I already read news blogs and follow sites with the sort of discussion I enjoy reading.
I come here for BBC bias and often reference it to prove my point to other people about what’s wrong with the BBC. Please don’t turn this site into right wing jack of all trades or a re-branded version of EU-Referendum, Bishop Hill, James Dellingpole’s blog or the like. I enjoy those sites for what they are and I like this site for what it is supposed to be: Examples of poor/biased BBC reporting/scripting

    I`m with Alan actually.
It may not be a BBC story, but it surely “flags up ishoos” in regard of where the BBCs sympathies would lie had they dared to run with this interesting story.
And in LibLand…even if it were NOT true-then it is worth its place in the news on account of revealing bigger truths that may lie behind it.
Let`s hope that the girls were wasted on Alcopops as well-for then Womans Hour could worry about binge drinking in Kabul or such like….and whether Foreign Aid cuts have led to a lack of STD clinics in surrounding vulnerable Muslim communities.
And here`s Geri Halliwell to give us her opinion…

No, these characters never point the finger at instances of BBC bias. They only aim their barbs at this site.

Could it be that the corporation’s twitterati have assumed new names and a new attack medium?

I suspect I would dislike David Vance in real life, but I like his punchy journalism, and nearly always enjoy his posts. I suspect I would find Alan a charming fellow in real life, but rarely read his posts because they are so long winded. Both are welcome in the fight against the totalitarianism of the Left as far as I am concerned. All credit to them.

This is a forum where people say what is on their minds under the general umbrella of BBC bias. That bias is invariably on the Left, and so it is hardly a surprise that those who attack its abuse of power are generally on the Right.

Being on the Right in the UK generally means believing in a free society, and being on the Left generally means being on the payroll of the State dreaming of a utopia in which incorrect thoughts are eliminated, and everybody moves in step with a view of the world which accords with the interests of a Party elite.

The BBC is simply an institutional expression of that Party elite – they tell you what to think and you are forced to pay for them. The worst thought you can have is to support market plurality. Their hostility towards Murdoch is even more blatant than their support of the Labour Party.
