The BBC’s bias was wonderfully illustrated by a little item on Today this morning just before 7am. They had tracked down an American professor who has authored a book that shows that contrary to Clinton’s assertion “It may not be the economy, stupid” when it comes to determining the outcome of elections. Yup, and so Obama’s woeful performance on the US economy “may not hurt the President” and that mixed economic messages suggested Obama could not really be blamed on how the US economy was performing. Same argument was extended to many EU economies, bizarrely. By contrast, and this really amused me, the Professor pointed out that the UK’s economic performance could be laid directly at the feet of the Conservative element in Government! Magnificent ..an Obama apologist and Conservative critic being allowed to opine without dissent. As Helen Boaden would say (when she was not busy trying to stifle Savile’s critics) “Impartiality is in our genes”, right?
IT’S NOT THE ECONOMY, STUPID

Yes, the new line yesterday was that we shouldn`t lok at the hard economic figures but seek out the reality on the street. Leaves a lot of room for interprdtation.

Yet when the reported economic figures are bad they are trumpeted as the truly horrendous state of the economy.
Strange that.

You know, you don’t have to watch the BBC or read its website. The mind boggles as to why you would watch listen or read something that you know will offend you then complain about it.
Its a bit like hitting yourself around the head with a hammer and complaining that is hurts.

if we didnt have to pay for this shit we wouldn’t complain at all.

‘The mind boggles as to why you would watch listen or read something that you know will offend you then complain about it.’
Further to my Welsh colleague’s more than valid point, I would now be interested in any feedback from Drs. Scezandymanus from Oslo on this assertion. And the state of irony failure with some.
Caution is advised.

Joey Maniac says :-

In that case Maniac, why are YOU participating in this site ?

Because their biased output is indoctrinating millions of my fellow citizens, for whom it is the prime source of information. And from there influencing how they may choose to vote and the government of the country.
So I may not have to watch the BBC or read its website, but it still affects me significantly. I’d say that gives pretty good reason to take a keen interest in their output.

well said Roland. Even Dez et al realise the reason this site exists, Joey doesn’t.

I can’t wait to see how Mardell rationalises Obama’s massive defeat. This election’s going to be epic…the BBC are part of the Democrats’ global Ministry of Truth, and their meltdown on Nov 6 as Romney obliterates Bathhouse Barry will be a joy to behold. It’s not going to be close.

Mardell (and many others) will move to a ‘it’ll be close’ meme next week, and the polling will go from being heavily weighted for the Democrats to more even handed.
On what’s to blame for Obama losing just watch the trailer for Matt Frei’s investigation of the US when he asks someone who doesn’t like O ‘is it because he’s black’? or similar.

Don’t forget the old ‘they didn’t win really’ routine used when the win is narrow and they create some fake news about swing states and uncounted votes.

And the question the BBC never ask American black voters: ‘Did you vote for Obama just because he’s black?’ The reason being they take it as read, because to the BBC it’s the most natural thing for them to do.

How do I know it isn’t going Obama’s way? Well the BBC isn’t wall to wall reporting of the US election. How close the candidates really are, I haven’t a clue and the BBC really doesn’t help me know either.

I’m going to give you a clue, Deborah. It’s not close now, and neither will it be on November 6th. What is really happening right now on the ground, and the picture presented by The Ministry of Truth, couldn’t be more different. Barry loses big.

Don’t get too comfortable yet. It ain’t over til it’s over. There are murmurings already that a significant amount of early voting is favoring the President in swing states. No doubt there’s voter fraud going on, seeing as how we’re learning about more Democrat campaigns abetting or encouraging it. There’s also plenty of voter fraud with absentee ballots. Plus the MSM is going to the wall in their attempts to hide and obfuscate and shift blame in order to keep voters from souring on the President. The only thing that might hurt Him on Libya is if Hillary drops the loyal soldier routine and comes clean. Bubba just needs to do more to convince her it will help her in 2016, and that the majority of Democrats won’t hate her for turning on The Obamessiah.
Gloria Allred’s October Surprise turned out to be a big nothing, so we have at least one more coming, not to mention the Bin Laden film coming out two days before the election, which has been recut to highlight the President’s magnificence even more, and a special scene added to make Romney look like he opposed the raid. Although the National Geographic Channel (where it will be shown) has now said they told the producers to cut that scene back out. No way of knowing what will actually be in it until it’s broadcast. NG claims they’re showing it not as propaganda but because they’re merely trying to get a ratings boost with a timely broadcast.
Only an historically massive turn-out on election day from Romney voters will overcome this. The Tea Partiers are ready to do this, but that still leaves a lot of other people needing to get out and vote.

David, yes of COURSE they’re saying that the turnout in early voting is in favor of Democrats. However, early voting started today in Florida, and I just returned from my polling place.
I guaran-dam-tee you that this isn’t the case. In 2008 and 2010, I just walked into the polling place when early voting started, got my precinct ballot, and voted. Today, I had to wait behind numerous people. Discussion in the line suggested that they were voting for Romney.
Early voting is very heavy today. I do not believe that Obama will take Florida.

Aside from any opportunities for fraud, it is obvious from following the opinion polls why the Democrats want people to vote early. Every day, Romney is stretching his lead in the national share of the vote, so the longer it goes on, the more likely Obama is to lose.
The electoral college still looks tight, though.

Good to hear. Did you get that fake letter telling you your voter registration was in question?

I went to listen to that Today item because this professor seems to have solved the lefties paradox: how do we blame Bush for the state of the US economy and yet clear Brown/Balls for the state of the British economy?
But the item is not up yet. Instead, my eye was drawn to ‘other top stories’ where you can find “The government are absolutely useless”. Who’s saying that, I wondered. Milliband, Balls, or some lesser Labour personage. No, it turns out to be a woman from South Wales. Top story indeed, BBC.

The BBC would rather trust a wino from Sunderland on the economy, than an independent body staffed with experts who have access to the actual data.
But no, a wino in Sunderland who cannot make her giro stretch to an extra bottle of vodka, still feels like she is not any better off, so that is proof enough for the BBC that the economy MUST be still in recession, because it still feels like it is in recession to some down and out chav!
Contrast to 2 years into the recession. Just before the election in 2010. The BBC were relentless in trying to talk up the economy. I remember reports saying, “The figures may “technically” show we are still in recession, but not as many people have lost their jobs and we may be seeing the green shoots”
They totally ignored the million + jobs that were lost in the private sector between 2008 – 2010.
Yet when the coalition proposed to cut only 400,000 public sector jobs, the BBC reacted like the gates of hell would open. Now the BBC is being forced to admit that even then, the private sector has more than off-set the public sector job losses.
Public sector jobs, which are a nett drain on the economy, which raise NO net revenue and are a waste of money have been replaced by real jobs in the private sector which generate revenue and raise tax take over all.

you clearly don’t understand
public sector=good
private sector=bad
Hope I sorted that out for you 😉

Lefties hate the real world.
In the real world Lefties would be selling the big issue.

Surely the lefties would be making us pay more tax so that the government could give them the Big Issue?

More than likely seeing lefty’s can only take from society than give back to it.
