In reporting police election results, BBC mentions, but does not emphasise UKIP’s good showing, relative to that of Lib Dems.

Perhaps BBC doesn’t want to see this:-

“UKIP is surely now a more attractive partner than the LibDems”

So an example of bias is when the BBC fail to mention that UKIP’s crap results were not as crap as those of the Lib Dems? That is not scraping the barrel it is digging into the muck underneath it!!

    • George R says:

BBC’s political preference for LibDem’s pro-E.U position compared with BBC disdain for UKIP’s opposition to UK membership of the E.U colours the BBC reporting of the two political parties.

Even ‘Guardian’ has grudging praise for ‘Daily Mail’ on Leveson, etc:-

Having looked at the map and the scale at the side perhaps you can enlighten me as to how the BBC got “the colours the wrong way round on the map to make it look worse than it is”?

In terms of enlightenment, given this topic seems to have attracted still active interest heading to nearly 2k comments, why did the BBC close the thing in a day?

So – I was watching something called ‘NewsWatch’ on BBC News 24, and they did a segment on the Newsnight false accusation scandal. After the initial summary of the scandal and an inclusion of some viewer’s opinions, the presenter went on to introduce a panel discussion and said, “We asked for someone at BBC News to take part, but were told that no one was available to participate in the programme”.

So – a programme about the BBC, by the BBC, for viewers of the BBC to have their criticisms addressed, filmed presumably at BBC studios…and nobody from the BBC can be bothered to wander over and show even the pretense of some sort of accountability.

Great effort, people. Shame we can’t be so cavalier about our approach to paying the BBC tax without serious repercussions.

You don’t get that ‘unique’ tag just any old how.

10.24 on BBC News 24. Item and interviews on current Gaza situation. Text bottom left of screen: ‘GAZA ISRAEL VIOLENCE’. Now waiting for ‘GAZA HAMAS VIOLENCE’ item…

The ritual BBC litany of casualties ‘At least 38 Palestinians and three Israelis have been killed since Israel assassinated Hamas’ military head on Wednesday’ [which, of course, started all this trouble] has its effect blunted by the report of the train crossing accident in Egypt. While one doesn’t wish to make light of the deaths of 47 children, a not altogether rational instant reflection takes place in the listeners mind, that it’s safer to be under Israeli military bombardment in Gaza than to go on a school trip in Egypt.

Hi it’s me again…. Tim Davie…. the new DG. I’ve just popped up out of the dugout for a moment to talk to the press and to respond to claims that on my first appearance I came over with all the grace of a League Two football manager.

Do I not like that?! And, to be fair, let’s not forget it is a game of two halves.

How committed am I to this job? 110%

How long will I be staying here? Look, I’ve got a contract, but if the right offer comes along I’d be a mug not to have a look. If the Chairman puts someone else in over my head, so be it.

Now I know some of the lads, some our top players, have been caught well off-side. I can’t very well deny it – it was a televised game and everyone has seen the pictures – and it looked to be a pretty nasty incident. Yeah, I’ve watched it from all the angles. To be honest it’s an example of exactly what we don’t want see in the modern game. Just the sort of thing that if any of our rivals pulled the same stunt, then we would certainly be calling them out – no doubt about it. Disciplinary actions? That will all be sorted in-house. No, we’re definitely not going public with that.

Ok so now we’ve put our hands up. The lads involved are not proud of what they did. But you must remember it was all in the heat of the moment and it’s a very competitive game we’re in. No I’m not saying it was just a bit of banter. It was a genuine red card offence. Don’t forget some of those involved were only on loan to us. But we’re happy to pay our fines and now we want to move on.

We have to keep our eye on our main goals and not let ourselves be distracted from those – and you know for us, whatever else happens – that means Europe.

Yes, of course we still see a future in Europe.

Look we know where we come from – but in the modern game we’ve got to be playing on a world stage.

Yes, finding racism is our number priority. Yes, the wimmins’ game is our next top objective.

I know, we’ve got a very vocal and a very loyal crowd of supporters. You should see all the stuff they buy from us. Talk about wearing the club shirt! I know they do act up a bit naughty sometimes and they do get carried away, but their hearts are in the right place. Look, it’s always been a tribal game.

Strategy? Well you know we’ve got an awful lot of talent out on the left and I want to be sure we’re really playing to our strengths – but you can’t expect me to give away all our secrets.

No , we certainly won’t be parting company with any of our big ticket players.

Overpaid, arrogant and out of touch? Haven’t you seen what our team does for charity? Look if anyone out there watching does stuff in the community – any pet projects, anything at all that wants promoting – tell us about it. Just let us know what you need because I’m sending our boys out to get involved in the lot. We’re supporting all that sort thing – the lot – no questions about it.

Listen, I’ve had words with the lads – and the WAGs – and I can tell you, we’re now all singing from the same hymn sheet. Look, I really think we’ve turned a corner this week.

I’m looking forward to a very good run up to 2015. We’ve got a brilliant string of results this week. I’m sure that’s an endorsement of our good work in the past. We’ve puts plenty of points on the table against our opposition. And you know what? They’ve hardly come back at us with anything. I’m over the moon about that.

Where do we go from here? We push on. Accumulate the points. Stick it to our rivals. Wait for the right kind of management to come back in at the top of game and then – most important – we can renegotiate our licence fees. Thanks, that’s all I’ve got time for, I think it’s kicking off right now.

So Children in Need beat last year’s £26.3m and raised £26.8m. 1.9% increase. Stephanie Flanders would report that adjusted for inflation that is a real-terms fall if it was a Coalition activity and shows there is no growth plan in place.

No great evidence there has been at most levels, before or since.

Interesting to see that Holywood has tackled an aspect of British society where the BBC fear to tread.

A major new mainstream movie will address the issue of the New Labour installed liberal elite embedded within the British broadcast media, print press, politics and judiciary; exposing the supra-democratic nexus of Common Purpose trained leftists.

Anonymous hacker group attacks Israeli websites Checking the list of sites the BBC links to they all seem to be hobby and small business sites of the type that some servers give away for free. It looks as if the ANON group managed to hack two servers.

Think the BBC might have mentioned how pathethic their actions were and that they did no damage at all to government or military sites.

The last few paragraphs about the IDF blog are stunning in their irrelevance to the headline. The IDF creates websites and the Anon hacks websites: moral equivalence
