The BBC’s coverage is getting ever more disgraceful when you consider the ultimate consequences of the effect such coverage begets for Jews around the world.
This was a sequence of reports from the BBC on 5Live:
1. Multiple News bulletins….. ‘Israel continues its bombardment of Gaza which has been hit with 80 Israeli strikes….only one rocket was fired from Gaza.’
2. Single report……Jon Donnison reports that Israel has made 80 strikes into Gaza but that the Israeli army reports that 76 rockets were fired into Israel from Gaza on Sunday…
(Confirmed here…’Seventy-six rockets exploded during the course of the day in southern Israel, with Ashdod coming under its heaviest barrage yet by seven Grad rockets. Six were intercepted and one smashed into a residential building, wounding two residents lightly. The Iron Dome intercepted 38 rockets heading for built-up areas on Sunday.‘)…..and over 60 have been fired since midnight up to early afternoon.
3. Multiple News bulletins…..‘Israel continues its bombardment of Gaza which has been hit with 80 Israeli strikes….Hamas say they have fired a number of rockets.’
So the BBC know that 76 rockets were fired from Gaza on Sunday but, other than Donnison’s quick reference in his report the BBC don’t make further mention of it in their news bulletins….no mention in the bulletins of over 60 rockets launched today either…just ‘a number’.
Guess someone at the BBC isn’t too keen for you to hear that Israel is continuing to be ‘bombarded’ or ‘pounded’ by rockets.
The bias is becoming so noticeable that many more have started to comment:
Finally, the BBC’s pro-Palestinian propaganda machine has swung into action
On Saturday on the Today programme Justin Webb said . (1 hr 10 secs in )…
‘The ancient hatreds are winning the day.’
What does that mean? He is putting Israel on a par with Hamas and declaring that their actions in Gaza are a result of their ‘ancient hatreds’…presumably of Palestinians….rather than the result of tens of thousands of rockets fired into Israel since 2002.
Later the BBC’s Richard Galpin helpfully informs us that….‘Something like 1,400 Palestinians were killed in operation cast lead in 2009 and the vast majority of them…or I should say a significant number of them were civilians and 13 Israelis were killed.’
1,400 is Hamas’s own figure…the Israeli figure is 1,116.…300 of them civilians.
The BBC are always keen to repeat those figures of Palestinian casualties in 2009.…but refuse to mention that over 1000 Israelis had been killed by Palestinians and over 8000 injured in the previous 10 years.
Galpin is somewhat embarrassed apparently to be reporting from Israel……
Richard Galpin @Richardgalpin 54s
Please note I am only reporting #Israel side cos that is where I am. We also hv full team in #gaza reporting what’s happening there.
What can be the consequences of the BBC’s misleading, one sided broadcasts on public perceptions of the conflict and who is ‘right’? The BBC Governors spelt out the consequences of getting it wrong and how powerful the Media is….
The report quotes from another study…..
“Bad News from Israel” (Pluto Press 2004): ‘Greg Philo and Mike Berry of the Glasgow Media Group at Glasgow University co-authored this book reporting on a study of TV news coverage of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This found, among other things……that audience identification with the protagonists in violent events in the conflict was influenced by the perceived legitimacy of the violence used, and that this was influenced by TV news presentation. ‘
The report goes on to say that the BBC’s narrative is an ‘important prize’….ie if you can shape the BBC’s narrative it is your story that gets the favourable coverage…
‘Since the conflict is not only local but engages also widespread international support and sponsorship, the BBC, which is highly regarded and influential internationally as well as in the UK, and the nature of its coverage, are important prizes.‘
The report goes on to say that the Jewish community in the UK felt that negative reporting will have serious consequences for them…..
‘It is important that the BBC as an institution, and all those within it with responsibilities for producing relevant programmes, should be fully conscious both that an account of events and issues – a human construct – is being created, and that they have a crucial interpretative role in that process.
Accordingly, in common with other international conflicts, there may be a domestic effect and the BBC must be aware of anxiety that its coverage may impact on the personal safety of members of communities within the UK. Some of the most troubling evidence put to the Panel was the fear expressed by members of the Jewish community that inaccurate, tendentious or unfair reporting of the conflict could be reflected in increased anti-Semitic attitudes or behaviour in the UK.
But the concern in the Jewish community, which is plainly and understandably deeply felt, is a salutary reminder that failing to observe the impartiality requirements could have serious practical consequences.‘
OK, serious On/T post

For BBC Children in Need, Middle East style
Ooh-ooooh Pally-love, our Pally-love
We need you, oh how the BBC need you
But the Israelis treat you bad
Blockade you and leave us sad
Tell us, what did Gaza do wrong?
To make your rockets fire so long?
‘Cause Hamas-love, our Hamas-love
Been missing ya, miss kissing ya (ass)
Instead of an IDF ground attack
Just do some kissing and making up
You can throw our EU/UN money away
On new smuggled arms for which we pay
Need ya, need ya
Pally-love, ooh, Hamas-love
Pally-love, our Hamas-love
Why must you fake the casualties?
Did the wicked Jews cut your electricity?
Even though you’re terrorists
All of our BBC whole life through
We never loved no Islamic militants like you
Even though you won’t recognise the Jews
Please, please don’t ever feel the need
Ooh, ooh, need to hold us
Hold us hostage again, our love
Like Alan Johnston, Alan Johnston!
Don’t want to feel your warm embrace
Don’t want to stay too long at your place
Don’t throw our love away
Please don’t hold us this way
Won’t be happy like we used to be
Loneliness will get the best of us
Our love, our Gaza love
We need you, oh how we need you
Why do you target the Jews?
After the Beeb have been so true to you?
So deep in love with you
Pally, Pally, ooh ’til it’s hurtin’ us
‘Til it’s hurtin’ us
Ooh, Pally love
Don’t throw our love away
Don’t throw our love away

I’m surprised the Beeb aren’t jumping on this story, from the ‘alarmist’ Middle Eastern newssheet, Debka file: they could spin it as the Fifth Cavalry coming to the rescue.

I see that yesterdays strike on that Media centre took out an Islamic Jihad commander. I wonder if the bBC will publish an apology regards claiming there were no terrorists there.
The bBC, lying when even the Terrorists aren’t

Have to admire the bBC for persistence. Islamic jihad have admitted that Ramez Harb was taken in a strike on that so called media centre. Apparently without anybody knowing Islamic jihad had a press office there and which is where Harb was taken out by that kinetic strike.
But instead of reporting the truth the bBC have brought in Lysle –Crying in West Bank-Doucet in which to play the war crimes angle against Israel for taking out that Terrorist.
On that note, has anybody seen one Armed Hamas terrorist, I take it the media are escorted by Hamas thugs yet I have yet to see one on the bBC.

Well, if SAS Sam for Sky is any guide, no. He seemed to be complaining that they had targeted him but missed and by accident took out the Hamas array on the roof of the tallest building around, by his own admission a perfect location, but which he chose to inhabit anyway. Berk.
And for such a crowded place, there seem an awful lot of extra outside folk there running around trying to cop a bit of shrapnel to start screaming how they were wounded… in a warzone.
Frankly it’s sicker to witness than any XBox game my kids play.
Actually, that gives me an idea: ‘Grand Narrative Gaza’.

Israel seems to be trying to fight a war without being condemned by the liberal dominated West . A pointless excercise. Proportionate- disproportionate .What does this really mean? I have no idea.
War is brutal and in a realistic world both sides fight to win by all means possible, saving that course of action that would destroy them both.
Imagine if the IDF really went for it. Eliminating Hamas completely and imposing a victor’s settlement on their terms. There would be death and destruction but it would be over. To the sensitive souls in the West this would be anathema but what is the alternative? Every few years the missile stocks build up and this happens. And sooner or later the missiles will get bigger and more accurate and then what?
Sometimes overwhelming force is the quickest way to a lasting settlement . It may not be ‘fair” but the war never is.

What angers me more than anything about the BBCs reporting of the conflict in the region is that by thier actions they`re convincing the rest of the world that the UK populace are of the same mindset as themselves…. I would rather live amongst Jews than amongst Muslims… It grieves me to think that in isreal right now there is a population which feels that the UK people have decided to side with terrorists and despots whose one aim is to wipe them out….. I have a lot of respect for the Isrealis, they have shown so much self control and determination in thier psyche since 1948…. They have been blamed again and again when they`re in fact the real victims…. The BBC make me sick to my stomach!!!

‘they`re convincing the rest of the world that the UK populace are of the same mindset as themselves’
Indeed. The ‘British’ part of their brand makes that inevitable, along with claims to speak for the nation and vox pops selected to enhance only their editorial stance.
It’s fraudulent, with the added insult of charging all those for whom they don’t speak to make them targets of any who may snap on a nationalistic basis.
Luckily, most of those the BBC seeks to demonise operate on very different cultural bases to those they actively support (but who still seem a dodgy colleague to have in nthe dugout at times).

I wonder what the response would be if Israel really replied on a totally ‘proportional’ basis to the attacks from Hamas.
For instance, if they fired the same number of missiles towards Gaza as Hamas is directing at Israel, then, instead of trying to guide them to a pin-point location, just switched off the guidance systems and just let them land and explode ?
Precisely and absolutely ‘proportional’, but anyone like to take any bets on how the BBC would report this ? ‘Indiscriminate attempts at carnage’ would trip from the BBC tongues incessantly – but strangely, they don’t regard such actions from Hamas in the same way.

I know this is the biased BBC site but sometimes I just have to explode about Channel 4 coverage. 7pm news reporting about the Israeli TV channel 2 (I think) where Channel 4 was complaining that the Israeli news channel does not report how the fighting is affecting the ordinary person in Gaza. But I just have to ask – does the Hamas controlled Gaza news stations report on how their rockets are affecting women and children in Israel (except in an overblown…death to all Jews…kind of way.?

Right witcha Deborah.
Whenever I hear the sickly smug tones of Snow, GuruMurthy and Newman/John Smiths girl, I want to throw up.
They are really honorary Beeboids who read their Guardians just as avidly as the BBC…and their Channel Four News is an absolute disgrace more nights than not.
Snow has got to be the most odious sanctimonious, self-satisfied streak of misery in Newsland…pompous turd who was probably even too right on/self righteous for even the BBC.
Public school, prep school son of a bishop…what`s not to despise in this sop?

For anybody wondering whether BBC promotion of Pallywood is intentional or not, from what I can see, they certainly don’t care if it happens, and if they can avoid making it public they will.
They are certainly aware it has been happening recently on a regular basis, and should be a little more cautious if they want to keep any kind of credence in their reporting, that is, if reputation was more important than agenda.
