Sorry, there are no results for ‘radio asian fever’ in the category ‘News’.
What is Radio Asian Fever? ‘Radio Asian Fever will serve the south Asian communities of Leeds, in and around the Harehills area.’
It’s also a radio station that had been ruled by Ofcom in June as ‘likely to encourage or incite the commission of crime’ against the gay community.
I can find no reference to this story, either from June or, as yet, today, on the BBC, even Leeds local news…but they do know of the existence of this station:
New community radio station launched in Leeds Asian Fever, based in Harehills, have been granted a five year community radio licence. Why not contact them about training, or even the chance of presenting your own show.
Is it likely that the BBC are ducking the issue of Islamic ideology?…they are quite happy to tell us Christianity should keep up with the times and change its laws, tenets or values…for example over women Bishops ( 5Live Tony Livesey)….but are reluctant to give the same advice to Muslims.
Curious because today they had a long discussion (Somewhere on 5Live…no link) about the use of the word ‘Gay’ as derogatory term for anything ‘bad’….might have been relevant to the subject….Keen to defend Gay people but only up to a point…that point being where it interferes with certain ethnic ‘cultural practises’?
How did the station incite hate or crime against gay people?
Rubina Nasir, known as “Sister Ruby”, had delivered two sermons in Urdu on Radio Asian Fever last year.
Ofcom noted that Nasir had said: “What should be done if they do it [practise homosexuality]? If there are two such persons among you, that do this evil, the shameful act, what do you have to do? Torture them; punish them; beat them and give them mental torture.”
She had also said: “Allah states, ‘If they do such a deed [i.e. homosexuality], punish them, both physically and mentally.’ Mental punishment means rebuke them, beat them, humiliate them, admonish and curse them, and beat them up. This command was sent in the beginning because capital punishment had not yet been sent down.”
The regulator believed they had the potential to incite violence or criminal hatred against gay people.
Ofcom ruled the content “could be objectively and reasonably regarded as calls to action to undertake violent and other forms of potentially criminal behaviour against the homosexual community.
“In our view, the presenter clearly set out that it was appropriate for people listening to the programmes to: “Torture …; punish…; beat … and give … mental torture” to homosexual people. We considered that the use of the imperative clearly indicated to listeners that they should act in this way.”
Ofcom said it would impose a statutory sanction, often a financial penalty, on the station in due course.
As well as Gays she didn’t have a good word to say about people of other religions…
‘In a broadcast the following day she focused her attention on another Qur’anic verse and said it was critical of mixed-faith marriages.
She said: “What happens when a Muslim man or woman get married to a Mushrak [a follower of another religion).
“Listeners! Marriage of a Muslim man or woman with a Mushrak is the straight path to hellfire.
“Have my sisters and brothers, who live with people of bad religions or alien religions, ever thought about what would become of the children they have had with them – and the coming generation?
“Where the filth of shirk (the sin of following another religion) is present, where the dirt of shirk is present, where the heart is impure, how can you remove apparent filth. How many arrangements will you make to remove the apparent filth?
“We are saying that Mushraks have no concept of cleanliness and uncleanliness.”
The station has just been fined for that offence:
A radio station in Leeds, which is aimed at the Asian community, has been fined after a presenter advocated homophobic violence and branded gay people as “evil” and “shameful”.
I cannot imagine the BBC ignoring similar provocative statements being made by a Christian radio station and then being fined by Ofcom as a result.
And as a corollary to that, for the benefit of our hard of thinking BBC friends, THIS is what hating gays means, not just doing rent boy gags or questioning whether there can ever be a Umanright to hold your wedding on someone else’s property.

or saying “thats a bit gay” at school, over some minor inconsequential, act of juvenile “silliness”.
as the bbc today, 5live went indepth in a protracted interview, to all the whats and wherefores, as to the irrepairable damage and mental torture that could be done, if someone who may be gay/lesbian overheard it.

Maybe “Sister Ruby” should go on5live (Mr Bacons slot perhaps)
She might have something interesting to ad to the debate about ‘gay marriage (or cocaine use).

Of course 5 live went big on this…they will have known about the Asian Fever story, and went into classic BBC deflect mode, mention it in passing, but turn the “real” debate into weather or not kids saying “That’s gay” is homophobic.

Hmmmm….Leeds City Council…..the council that sacked a member of staff, education dept i think, for allegedly being a member of the EDL……turns out he belonged to a human rights lobby of sorts. They claimed his ‘views’ were incompatible with the Councils dictums on Race and Equality. I wrote to them asking if they were going to sack every muslim employee for holding homophobic, anti-women, racist and anti-semitic views etc….which they all will surely hold? No answer of any worth as yet…….Leeds C.C. i conclude, are unworthy of serving the people of Leeds.

Bad day for mulitkulti stuff then.
Turns out to be Interfaith Week( as well as parliament Week…which you would have known about, surely)…and Jonathan Sacks is a bit demob happy I fear.
His last TFTD was wishy washy pish to support Children In Need…now todays was praising Interfaith dialogue.
I`ve read the great mans books and sermons-and this was not that man on TFTD..more like Bloody Rowan as far as I could see.
What has the Beeb done to Jonathan?
And Last Word this evening praised Kenneth Cragg…who brought the two opposing religious superpowers of Islam and Christianity together.
Not really-he softened up the likes of Rowan to embrace Sharia Law and turn a blind eye to Muhammad the Teddy Bear or Margaret Hassan etc…and he asked for nothing in return but a sharp blade for the neck of his flock at the abbatoir.
Just the kind of liberal sap, that al-Zarqawi would have dreamt of by way of an opponent..and so he was feted by the BBCs show now he`s done his bit to bring Islam just that little bit closer.
There is NO common ground between Islam and Christianity-they worship a trascendent God and a Book…we worship an immanent intervening God of and a Man…theirs is duty, ours is love.
And-by the way anger is common to both faiths, and is surely coming from Christians if we don`t get parity or…”equality and fairness”…

Until the likes of the bbc understand that islam will never consider equality with non-muslims, then nothing will change and they’ll continue along their delusional path of appeasement, preferential treatment, bias towards islam, antagonism against Christianity and Judaism. And ultimately, we in the civilised West will all be the losers. I wonder if those at the bbc ever have doubts about their beliefs and attitudes? If they ever return to the Christian fold, they’ll have a lot to confess at some stage. Otherwise, it’s eternal damnation; I just pray I’m not there to experience it with them, as they’ll be just as insufferable in the afterlife.

The bBBC? Have doubts? Don’t be silly, did nobody tell you that the bBBC are infallible and can never be wrong. Surely you must know that, after all, they inform the world of that at least two dozen times every day. Never an hour goes by without at least one of their propaganda outputs ordering everybody to accept it as fact.

Lets look at the facts:
Alan uses a BBC page from 2007 to justify that “they do know of the existence of this station”.
He searches the BBC News site for “radio asian fever” and gets no hits. This is used to justify BBC bias.
If you Google “radio asian fever” you get about 1,050,000 results. Reviewing the first 10 pages of results
you get 3 hits relating to the June 2012 story: one from pink news, one from democracyforum.co.uk (posted today) and the third being a hit on Alan’s original post.
In summary, Alan considers the BBC to be biased as it has failed to cover a story that no other main news source has covered either.
It seems to me that in a desire to prove BBC bias all Alan has done is prove his own bias.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Pink News (after the Grauniad, of course) was one of the most widely read news-sheets at the Beeb.

That would be unlikely seeing as Pink News does not publish a print edition.

I refer to debka file as a news sheet as well – it’s a kind of generic/figurative use of the term I’m in the habit of using.

Albaman – I would expect the world’s greatest investigative journalists to have their ears sufficiently to the ground to pick up that a radio station inciting hatred and violence against a whole section of the British community (who are yet another example of our hard-won freedoms these Islamo-nutters seem to despise) and gets brought to the attention of the viewing and listening public. This is serious stuff and, whether you like it or not, had it been the EDL making a similar broadcast the BBC would have come down on them like a ton of bricks.

Both sides accused the other of racial abuse. But you wouldn’t actually realise that unless you read the Mail article very carefully;

Did you notice that little half a sentence I wonder?

Dez – Imagine that a group of drunken white women had beaten up an Asian women whilst shouting racial abuse, but the judge didn’t jail them because they were previously tee total Christians.
It wouldn’t be a question of whether the BBC would have covered the story, but how long it would have been their main headline for…

Dez the details you provide actually highlight the cowardice, hypocrisy and mendacity of the liberal establishment
The judge heard the mitigation but did not reject it in his summation
The CPS could not attribute the racist comment to a specific defendant so it did not happen
Weasel words. They, like you ,should have the courage of their convictions not hide squirming behind contrived formula’s of words.

Dez, you answer a completely differnet point: Jeff said that teh BBC didn’t cove rit. And Anyway I suggest you read that fact check again: everything is true except for one minor detail: that it wasn’t the judge who used those words. So, what you need to do is produce evidence as to why the BBC didn’t report it (maybe they did).

Too true. I even once heard a feminist claim that burkhas are liberating. As for the left, they just think of islamists as useful idiots, helpful in bringing about a revolution.
In reality burkhas liberate women from having to show their bruises, and given the Iranian revolution and the islamist spring, it’s the left who are the useful idiots.
Polly Toynbee, Cherie Blair, Fiona Bruce and Germaine Greer in big black bags, with just tiny grilles for their eyes? Bring it on.

In summary, the evil BBC failed to cover a story five months ago, and which nobody else covered either. Perhaps because it’s a crappy little story about a tiny community station nobody listens to. Ofcom produces abulletin full of adjudications every fortnight. Is it bias that prevents the BBC reporting those too? Or is it, perchance, that few of them are of more than parochial interest?

I have a feeling it was kept VERY quiet in June by Ofcom, but, once the ruling was made, and thus, made public, they could no longer cover it up, hence some news outlets decided to publish…it is news after all…
you can’t expect the BBC to cover it, after all, they need to fill all their bulletins with news about eviltorycutz ™

Going back to Harehills Leeds. The road from the junction of Roundhay road to the famous Jimmy’s hospital has been named as the most frightening in the U.K. The standard of driving the number of unlicienced uninsured un M.O.T’d drivers is the highest recorded anywhere. The local BBC Look North did an item on the driving there, and what they filmed was unbelievable, third world, now to be gay free, and the left wing council looks the other way.

On the topic of religion, the BBC have published an article arguing that Jesus was a feminist who is in favour of women bishops – http://www.bbc.co.uk/religion/0/20393178
Perhaps the author should read this page – http://skepticsannotatedbible.com/says_about/womens_rights.html.
And maybe she should also read 1 Corinthians 14:34-35:
14:35 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.
14:35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

What an attractive creed.

How about this creed:
“Allah (thus) directs you as regards your Children’s (Inheritance): to the male, a portion equal to that of two females: if only daughters, two or more, their share is two-thirds of the inheritance; if only one, her share is a half….”
“The Prophet said, ‘Isn’t the witness of a woman equal to half of that for a man?’ The women said, ‘Yes.’ He said, ‘This is because of the deficiency of a woman’s mind.’ ”
“Men are in charge of women, because Allah hath made the one of them to excel the other, and because they spend of their property for the support of women. So good women are the obedient, guarding in secret that which Allah hath guarded. As for those from whom ye fear rebellion, admonish them and banish them to beds apart, and scourge them. Then if they obey you, seek not a way against them. Lo! Allah is ever High, Exalted, Great.”
Any comments on that creed?
