bBC pushing a story about how suicide have increased from 2010 to 2011 (surreptitious attack on the current government perhaps)
UK suicide rate rises ‘significantly’ in 2011
The number of people taking their own life in the UK rose “significantly” in 2011, latest figures from the Office for National Statistics have shown. Some 6,045 people killed themselves in 2011, an increase of 437 since 2010.

Wow 437 more people killed themselves in 2011 than in 2010. but hang on what’s this hidden away in the bunf. (Blink and you will miss it)
When the ONS began keeping records of deaths by suicide in 1981, some 4,129 men and 2,466 women took their own lives. Additional guidance was published in 2011 in order to improve the classification of narrative verdicts at inquests in England and Wales. Narrative verdicts, which are long-form, factual records of the circumstance in which a death occurs, can be used instead of short-form verdicts, including suicide. Researchers had raised concerns that previous classification rules forced the ONS to record probable suicides as accidents, rather than allowing for the classification of intentional self-harm. The ONS said changes to the guidance may have led to an increased number of narrative verdicts coded as intentional self-harm in 2011, and therefore could have resulted in an increase in the suicide rate.

So actually it was a change in the way deaths are recorded that has lead to the rise and there’s something else which the bBC doesn’t mention:
In 2010 the population stood at: 62.231 million people
in 2011 it was 62.641 million. An increase of over 400,000 people, gee I wonder why the bbC didn’t mention that salient snippet.

Post Leveson: BBC-NUJ acceptance of E.U suppression of free speech?
    ‘Telegraph’ –
“Leveson: EU wants power to sack journalists.
A European Union report has urged tight press regulation and demanded that Brussels officials are given control of national media supervisors with new powers to enforce fines or the sacking of journalists.”

    By Bruno Waterfield.

Whoops! There goes that vaunted independence of the BBC. Since Farage is against it, the Beeboids will reflexively be for it, without stopping to consider the consequences.

      This should be fun.

Consider this headline from the Telegraph yesterday:
George Orwell uncovered: A guided tour of the Ministry of Truth

I just know what most here would be expecting to see reference to.
    It ain’t there 🙄

The writer of this piece – D J Taylor, tries so hard to sound sophisticated and intelligent which basically covers up a distinct omission.
    Like with this paragraph:
Anyone bent on introducing Nineteen Eighty-Four to a contemporary audience has two tasks: to explain some of
the bygone detail which is now in danger of getting obscured, and to unravel Orwell’s personal journey through this labyrinth of betrayal, back-stabbing and paranoia.

My initial reaction was to make this comment:
Apparently the writer of this piece seems unable to see the forest for the trees.

Does the fact that Orwell worked for the BBC, and came up with the concept of ‘Ministry of Truth’ seem too remote or ‘obscure’ for you?

Either you are angling for a job with the BBC or have friends working there, that you want to maintain their ‘cover’.

Then I Googled the author of this piece, and now his agenda becomes clear, and how come the BBC is not associated with his piece on Orwell

DJ Taylor: All hail Patten, champion of a clever BBC

    Orwell certainly saw him coming.

It looks like Beeboids are unquestioning of Labour Party’s position of no choice for British people on E.U. membership:-

…don’t worry, it’s only Pilger, writing the same article he always writes.

Thanks for this, Reed. Made my day.

And who can fail to appreciate the assurance from the BBC’s Mark Mardell that, in personally selecting people to murder with his drones, “the care taken by the president is significant”?

Matt Frei, now of Channel 4 News, drew commendation for his reporting of Obama as a “warrior president” and Hugo Chávez as a “chubby-faced strongman”.

And Pilger then complained that the BBC didn’t focus enough on Chavez’s positive contributions to human rights. 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

Yep – he’s a gift, that Pilger bloke.

Only 3 BBC articles that mentioned “the Chávez government’s extraordinary record in promoting human rights and reducing poverty”.

Only three! Three too many – probably penned by Owen Jones.

I often wondered what was so great about Obama (apart from his brown skin and lovely wife) but here it is, direct from planet BBC:

Mr Widodo is seen as a clean politician – a man who listens to the people. He is often compared to US President Barack Obama, not just because of his tall and lanky frame, but because of his ability to empathise with the common man.

BBC promotes a new comedian. Surely not another bog-standard lefty?

    ‘Bridget Christie Minds the Gap’

‘Last year, comedian Bridget Christie noticed that misogyny, like shiny leggings, had made an unexpected comeback. But did it ever really go away?

‘Bridget Christie Minds the Gap is a new four part, stand up comedy series on the state of British feminism today. An incident involving a man, a smell and a well known bookstore made her ask what place feminism has in modern Britain, whether the fight has been won or is being fought on different fronts. Plus, why did Bic launch the Bic for Her – a pen specifically designed for a woman’s hand? ‘

Yep, another lefty. Conspiracy? Or just bad habit?

The BBC have been consistently and persistently pro-EU.

BBC voices have scoffed at the idea of an in/out referendum

Watch the BBC shift tack as the Labour Party has to move in line with Cameron’s offer of a vote.

Already Keith Vaz has flagged his approval. BBC brings this as news (presumably our Keith Tweeted them).
