ON THE BALL…

The BBC pursues any Israeli weakness or fault with a vengeance that belies bias; Here is BBC Watch picking up the details…

On February 14th – just one day after a report about a group of racist fans from the Beitar Jerusalem football club (one of two produced until then by the BBC) had finally given up the place it had held on the Middle East page of the BBC News website for six whole days – two more articles on the same subject were instated on that same page.

I wonder how many Palestinian Football Teams have Jewish or even Christian players and what kind of reception those players would get as soon as they stepped into the pitch?

The BBC often seems to expect Israel’s inhabitants to have higher standards of behaviour than people in the dreadful countries which make up the rest of the middle east.

But as the BBC is not racist this cannot be true.

        India?
I’ve been in 54 countries and India would rank as one of the most incredible I experienced. They have a different reality to our own, which is part of its beauty.

        Far from being a toilet.

Yet the uniquely funded BBC (like their soulmates at the Guardian) could not find the space to report this story from Egypt.

On April 6, 2011, scores of football fans in Egypt hurled gigantic banners with the words:
One Nation for a new Holocaust [against the Jews].

Yeah… okay… because two written and two video reports “buried” (isn’t that what’s called on B-BBC?) on the middle-east page is “pursuing Israel with a vengeance”.

Except they’re not about Israel, they are about Beitar Jerusalem football club and heir signing of two Muslim players.

    Bad Israel?

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu saying; “We must not accept such racist behaviour”.

    Bad Israel?

“In the wake of recent events the club’s manager and owners have taken positive, affirmative action.

Ringleaders from the notorious “La Famila” group of fans have been banned from home matches, a handful of others have been arrested and charged with insulting and racist behaviour.”

    Bad Israel?

“Ehud Olmert, a former Israeli prime minister, and the incumbent leader, Benjamin Netanyahu, expressed their outrage at the attack and the openly racist behaviour of a minority of fans.”

Any idea what you’re talking about Mr Vance?

    No?

    There’s a surprise.

Don’t be silly, dez. Don’t you remember the big BBC story about extreme right-wing racism surrounding football in the Ukraine and Poland? Their leaders made all the right noises and sad faces, too, yet you were meant to understand “bad Ukraine” and “bad Poland”. Black folks were warned against visiting on fear of being sent back home in the piney box. So don’t even try that one.

These reports weren’t about Ukraine and Poland; they were about Beitar Jerusalem.

Perhaps you could attempt to talk about that instead of shamelessly trying to change the subject.

It’s the same subject, dez: the BBC using highly selective reporting about racism in football to demonize an entire country. Don’t pretend you’ve forgotten about the reaction to black people being told they might be killed if they attend a match.

        And your point is dez?

This report deals specifically with so-called ‘honour’ attacks – a concept that is alien both to Christianity and the general ethos of the UK. Your references relate to domestic violence in its broadest description and domestic violence is wrong – full stop.

But there is only one group that treats women as less than men, as mere chattels and sanctions violence by husbands against their wives (and daughters) and it certainly isn’t Christianity.

As usual, the desert-derived cult, which brooks no criticism, gets a free ride from the BBC and the legal system, its medieval and misogynistic tenets being studiously ignored by both the soft and hard left and the luvvies.

Didn`t one of your annointed…Richard Dawkins no less…tell us all before Christmas that many who describe themselves as Christians(on census returns etc) just are not.
It`s just a lazy label to seem virtuous, and means nothing…in fact Christians are in terminal decline by way of numbers( and here`s a video from Al Zarqawi to give us an indicator of why this may be so!).
Therefore-no matter what these perps might say…if they say they`re Christian, they won`t be , unless they can recite the 119th Psalm in the Septuagint Version(that`s a long psalm Dez…a little joke for you there!).
Until they attend a Dawkins Sunday School session-probably best not to say that they`re Christian eh Dez? I for one would not take the word of the police on this one Dez…Hillsborough, Blair Peach Dez?

Domestic violence is not a synonym for ‘honour’ killings. One could argue that honour killings are a subset of domestic violence with several crucial differences.
        1) Few die from domestic violence. The aim of a killing is murder.
        2) Domestic violence cuts across cultural groups. Honour killings is almost exclusively a Muslim phenomena.
        3) Except for Muslims the perpetrator almost never claims a religious imperative for the act or a religious excuse for not being punished.

Um, no whites involved, Alison. Ergo no racist brush with which to tar the country.

There’s been a growing problem with fundamentalist Mohammedans trying to force others to obey their religious rules. One popular example a while back was airport taxi drivers banning infidel passengers from bringing bottles of alcohol with them. Again nothing to do with white racism.

That always makes me laugh David, “white racism” now we all know that as far as the bBC and their fellow travellers on the left are conserned that is the only kind of racism there is, but we in the real world know there is just “racism” no more, no less.

For just as an addict can not recover until they admit to their problem, we as a society will never make any progress in solving the problem and it will never go away until they admit there is just “racism”.

  10. John Anderson says:

I saw a useful definition of anti-semitism the other day.

Yes, it is quite wrong to describe any criticism of Israel – or eg its armed forces – as antisemitic.

But when a person – or an organisation – OBSESSES about Israel, when it criticises Israel endlessly without proportionate criticism of other parties in the Middle East,, when it keeps making out that Israel is the root cause of trouble in the Middle east and indeed throughout the widerworld, when it suppresses good things about Israel and many bad things about its opponents who threaten its very existence – and when it is very ready to bluster that it is always being “fair” – that is a pretty sure sign of relentless anti-semitism. Of sheer bigotry against Israel and the Jews who live there…

Seems to me that definition of anti-semitism fits the BBC to a T.

    • RCE says:

That’s exactly what a lot of complaints about pro-Israel bias do consist of:

‘Inviting on an ‘Israeli’ ‘minister’ presumes that Israel should be recognised as a post-Westphalian nation state, which many dispute. By accepting the Israeli narrative the BBC is therefore showing clear bias in favour of Israel and against those who question its legitimacy.’

Or some such. Medialens and, of course, the Guardian comments pages are windows into this diseased psychosis.
