Assange- Labour Party- Russian TV- BBC NUJ.

Russian TV seems to have stolen a political march over BBC-NUJ here in terms of politics of the choice of this (non) story, and the (pretend) inflated significance of UK Labour Party.

“Ecuador in talks with UK Labour party over Assange – reports”

But it does read like a good spoof of BBC-NUJ .

Off topic, the History Channel in America has made a series about the Bible, which has been a ratings hit.

They’ve got a black actor, who bares a striking resemblance to Barak Obama to portray Satan !

I think Nicki Campbell will have a stroke !

Lawrence Auster may not have been on the BBC-NUJ political radar; and, in any case, few Beeboids will have seen his articles, such as these:

Meanwhile the death of Saint Nelson of Mandela will give the BBC Obit Hagiography Department their first free run since Savile.

SKY NEWS: 878,000 ‘on the sick’ claimants stopped claiming rather than facing ATOS. 50% of those seen (by doctors) found fit to work.

Anyone remember that series of documentaries the BBC did showing that 90% of people ‘on the sick’ were actually ‘on the fiddle’?

    No me neither.

    Funny that,

I wonder when the bBC will herald the numbers. For a decade the bBC has taken the Liebore line that only a ‘small’ number are ‘taking the piss out of the benefits system’. Just published and reported by SKY are the numbers who have stopped claiming ‘unfit for work’; nearly 900,000. Plus another 250,000 were judges able to do ‘some work’.

This finally nails the lie that only ‘a very small number’ are trying it on. How much will the bBC promote the new findings, about the same as that Labour destroyed the economy.

Sorry ‘uncle bup’, in my haste to write the note, I had not checked for any entries. Finally the lies being told, that did not correlate with what you can see on the streets, finally folds.

    • Fred Bloggs says:

The report is worst than when first reported, the 900,000 were only those who dropped their claim. Of the numbers who were tested, 832,000 of them were found to be fit to work with NO restrictions.

Aden-born dissembler Keith Vaz has called for the main political parties to work together on a consensus view of immigration and “deny fringe parties the opportunity to fill the vacuum” (see http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-21986035). In other words, carry on as is: unfettered mass immigration to provide cheap workers for big business, more voters for Labour, plus an endless supply of low-cost nannies, builders and gardeners for the left-leaning metropolitan middle class. And, of course, exclude ordinary British people having any say in the matter via UKIP.
It’s not hard to imagine a supporting programme on Radio 4: “Good morning. Today we are having a debate on immigration following calls by a leading politican for a more balanced view on its benefits and to ensure that extemists do not hijack matters. We have the Labour, LibDem and Conservative spokespersons from the newly formed cross-party ‘More Immigration Now’ group; a lawyer who campaigns for an amnesty for all undocumented migrants; plus we hear from a Palestinian who escaped from an Israeli prison only to discover an atmosphere of hate and racism in Britain.”
“But first of all I would like to start with Mr Vaz. Mr Vaz… you haven’t mentioned it in your article but to what degree do you think anti-immigration sentiment is in response to the cuts being imposed on the NHS and social services by the Tory-led coalition government…? Whilst you think about that, I would like to remind viewers that we will be having a phone-in at the end of the programme, so please start calling now on…”
Cut to producer behind the scenes, 20 minutes later. “Ok Jo, how many callers have phoned in?” “Well Adrian, we have had 1000 callers. 995 have been anti-immigration, 5 have been pro-immigration”. “Hmm.. we’ve only time for 10, so let’s have 5 from each side to present a balanced view. Can I just check the names first? Let me see… oh, there’s someone here called Davis. Didn’t the UKIP have a candidate called Davis once, could it be him?” “He didn’t say he supported UKIP when I asked him as part of the filtering process”. “No? I’m sure they did have one, or maybe it was Davies or David, or possibly Smith or something. But we can’t risk it, better miss him out.” “Adrian, it now looks like we are running short of time. We better drop one of the callers.” “Ok, let’s make it one of the anti-immigration lot, they get too much publicity as it is”.
Back to the studio… “Well, that was a most informative debate. Our listeners think so too, judging from the number of calls we have had on the subject and we’ll speak to a number of them now. Looks like most of them want more immigration, but we’ll hear all 8 of them and you can make up your own minds…”
Think it doesn’t work like this?

OT musing on not what is covered, or said, but how.
    Was watching SKY this morning.
One slot was on the ‘bedroom tax’ (they are all at it, which is for the Government to get to grips with if inaccurate) benefits row.
The focus was, of course, an ‘at home’ vox pop.
Very well presented Mum in, to her credit, a beautifully kept abode.
No idea if her partner was around, and any kids were only heard but not seen.
She was however not happy. In fact I initially empathised with her concern. She’d been given a home she claimed had an extra room she didn’t want, need and hadn’t asked for. Now she was about to see the money cut back.
However certain things really didn’t add up.
She announced: ‘All I ask is that they just give me what I want’. Now, beyond that notion of entitlement being a little off-putting to those who have to earn what they want, and pay for it, whilst also being gouged to fund her expectations, jarred a bit. I also had my doubts that, if she was moved to a smaller place, she’d be going quietly.
Also, in the tour of her home the kids’ bedrooms seemed to have beds crammed into them leaving little space.
However the ‘spare’ room appeared to have been made into a dedicated play room, and was literally wall to wall with an entire Toys ‘R Us spring range supply.
It was hard to feel she was in too hard straights.
I wonder if that was the plan of the producer & editors, or just passed them by and worked out that way, like the itv slot with Waynetta who saw benefits as needing to cover essentials such as a breakfast fag, Stella & mobility scoot to the bookies of a morning.

That the BBC’s ‘news’ is defined more by what it leaves out than what it shapes in the edit suite to broadcast being no longer questioned, this was still interesting:
    http://bbcwatch.org/2013/03/31/bbc-stays-mum-on-new-pa-restrictions-on-foreign-journalists/
There’s always a danger to the ‘I see they haven’t..’ claim, as a dedicated team appears on call to dig a Ceebeebies archive mention out to compensate for silence across the entire broadcast estate, but the author has wisely placed a caveat up front.
Maybe the lack of attention is that the BBC do not see passing facts through filters as anything other than entirely normal now they are purveyors of narratives as opposed to objective information and education?
Of course, that is propaganda backed by censorship.
    Hardly most trutsworthy.
