The BBC and others have been quick to associate the EDL with the fires at two Islamic centres.
The fire at the Islamic school has been established as caused by arson and four teenagers have been arrested.
The cause of the first fire at the Al Rahma Islamic Centre is as yet undeclared….but blame has been instantly attached to the EDL because of graffiti sprayed onto the wall of the building.
The EDL has pointed out that jumping to such conclusions may be premature as in 2011 similar events occurred….but the culprits were in fact Muslims themselves:

FOUR cars have been destroyed by arsonists in attacks outside Luton homes over the past week.
The spate of firebombings began in the early hours of Sunday morning (March 27) in Bushmead, when a car was set alight outside a house in Chalkdown.
Another car was then set on fire in Brompton Gardens in Marsh Farm in the early hours of Monday morning, followed by incidents in Carlton Close, Biscot, and Newark Road, Bury Park, in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Houses have also been spray painted with graffiti and windows broken in a string of 21 criminal damage incidents which stretch back seven weeks, a spokesman for Bedfordshire Police said.
Several properties have had the letters ‘EDL’ spray painted on them, but the English Defence League says it is in no way connected with the incidents.
Det Insp Steve Ashdown, said: “The two people arrested have been investigated and there is no evidence linking them to the English Defence League.”
The police today should release as soon as possible the cause of the fire at the Al Rahma Islamic Centre and release some relevant details about the identity of the four teenagers arrested for the arson attack on the school.
As the BBC ratchets up tensions with claims of ever increasing numbers of anti-Muslim attacks the real cause of the first fire should be determined and suggestions that the four teenagers are in fact pupils from the school be dismissed if they are untrue.
It is of course unlikely that the arsonists were from the school…the BBC after all wouldn’t be so irresponsible as to keep claiming that the fire was an anti-Muslim attack if it was in truth set by pupils from the school or indeed any other Muslim….would they?
BBC radio 4 interviewed Tommy Robinson on precisely this subject matter yesterday….

Lest we forget that this is the same Nick Lowles that was given carte blanche by the BBCs Panorama programme, to make a number of wild and scurrilous “racist football thugs” accusations, pertaining to the people of both Poland and the Ukraine just before the European football championships in 2012……Which of course turned out to be completely unfounded…

Of course, it will be inconceivable that Robinson sounds reasonable because he is reasonable; that the EDL are evil is a sine qua non, and if this is not axiomatic then the problem must lie with the medium.

English Defence League leader condemns attacks on Muslims
The leader of the English Defence League has told the BBC he “utterly condemns” attacks on Muslims.
Tommy Robinson denied claims his group had firebombed an Islamic community centre in London, where the letters EDL were sprayed on the building.He admitted some of its tactics were “completely questionable”, but said “working class people” had no choice.
Fiyaz Mughal, from interfaith group Faith Matters, said Mr Robinson’s condemnation was “hollow”.
So after no increase on physical attacks in the Uk on Muslims after their latest peaceful attack on the non Islamic population the leader of a group of fat men is allowed to called a liar by a Muslim after he states his band of merry men don’t condone attacks on the faithful.
Yet time and time again where Muslims (And the bBC) have openly stated that Islam is a religion of peace we have seen blood,sweat and tears shed on the streets of the UK. and nobody has ever said that those words ring hollow. Makes you wonder about the religion of peace doesn’t it.

I thought Robinson didn’t understand the word questionable, I think he thought it meant that the EDL’s tactics could be questioned. I only saw it once but that’s what I thought as I watched it.
Whether he meant to use ‘questionable’ or not I don’t know but it was quite a clever answer
On the whole I thought it was a measured interview. Montague managed to demonstrate her ‘right on credentials’ but still allowed him to make his point
I ask no more than that of the BBC and only wish they could do more of it.
Robinson got himself in a bit of a tangle towards the end but in no way did he come across as the ‘inarticulate buffoon’ some wish he were, nor a violent one
In fact the only reference he made to physical force was in the context of ‘purging’ the EDL of racists
He’s no ‘inarticulate buffoon’ but he does need to slow down his delivery in order to make what he says sound measured and thought through. Basically he needs the voice coaching that all MPs get. And that’s the start of a very slippery slope.
Oh, and I’d personally avoid words like ‘intern’. Brings up images of camps full of political prisoners. Not the sort of thing to encourage if you want to avoid being called a fascist.
