I am sure that you, like me, have been gripped by a sense of suspense as to the fate of the ‘Irish” family “caught up in a stand-off at a Cairo mosque” as the BBC poetically puts out. Here these fine upstanding Irish citizens are;
Now then, the BBC tell us that they were caught up but they choose not to tell us WHY they were in Cairo and what EXACTLY they were doing there. Fortunately, Mark Humphyrs does ask the questions the BBC shies away from and the answer is clear; They were there to support the Islamofascists in the Muslim Brotherhood. You can see the video clips and it is obvious that the BBC, along with the Irish media, chose not to probe too deeply into this story lest we get the mpression that they were anything other than innocent bystanders.
They are as Irish as President Obama. This business of calling people who are clearly Asian and Muslim ‘Irish’ and ‘British’ is ridiculous and as a proper Briton I find it offensive but hey I’m not allowed to be offended am I.

It’s offensive to Muslims too isn’t it? I thought they characterised themselves as Muslim above any kind of geographical identity.

I read somewhere that there are plenty of “French” and “Canadian” people who were doing charitable work in Egypt and Syria, unfortunately now caught up in a civil war.
We should send the SAS, and a military transport aircraft to bring these upstanding people back to Britain. So should France and Canada.

That whole religion offends me, and the BBC, well they offend me with most of their news and current affairs broadcasting.

How can the BBC, self-proclaimed ‘home of the world’s best investigative journalism’, have missed this one?
Well, I suppose the answer is it’s a bit like Climategate – just report the part of the story that suits your biased agenda.

I am going to be charitable. So poor are the BBC journalists that they probably did not know anything about the Irish mosque. And what is worse are so incurious that they could not be bothered to find out. BBC= poor journalism and it shows.

Hard to imagine those Irish citizens having a ceilidh and drinking Guinness.

The ”Irish” women, Hmm, not exactly Maureen O’Hara, is it ? Alan Shatter is the man responsible for opening the borders to the Third World. It’s nice to see Ireland, like Britain, on a path to national suicide.

Ah, so Adams would gladly see off the Brits, and turn Ireland into a melting pot? This pathetic man should have been killed thirty years ago, as a brigade commander, he would have given the order to kill soldiers, policemen and protestants.

Like the Guardian, the BBC is very selective on their reporting.

maybe they can tar a few drives whilst they are there.

Mark Humphrys offers no proof of much of anything other than an anecdote and that Hussein McHalawa acts guilty. However, the BBC gives better evidence for his offspring being there as MB supporters.
Egypt crisis: Cairo mosque ‘cleared’ after siege
Egypt’s security forces have cleared a Cairo mosque after a long stand-off with Muslim Brotherhood supporters barricaded inside, state media says.
All the protesters have now been taken out of the mosque, and many have been arrested, security forces say.
Neither this report nor any other I’ve seen from other media outlets say anything about lots of innocent tourists being trapped in there with them the whole time. It’s clear that everyone in there was a Morsi supporter, ergo the McHalawa brood were there as Morsi supporters. So the BBC is being a bit dishonest presenting them as innocents abroad. Actually, the Beeboids don’t even dare try to make the case that they’re innocent bystanders, do they? They’re presented out of any context other than geographical location. Was a single one of them involved in putting this report together a little embarrassed by this?
Curiously, the BBC doesn’t link to this report on the page about their plight.
PS: Don’t bother watching the video at the top of the page if you don’t want to be outraged at Beeboid Bethany Belle pretending that it’s unclear whether or not MB supporters were shooting from the mosque itself (video “appeared to show”, FFS). She doesn’t quite openly lie about it, but is grotesquely disingenuous.

Was that a protestant mosque or a catlick mosque?

I think Mark’s point is that the media chose NOT to ask the question, regardless of proof.

I agree with that, DV. I was more pointing out evidence that the BBC knew exactly what was going on with these happy-go-lucky Irish youths, without needing to ask importune questions of their father, and declined to mention it.

I managed to hear the bBC allow the sister of this group who remained back in Ireland to opine bout the conditions here sisters were facing which was:
1) They were scared
2) They had sought shelter in a local mosque, because they didn’t know the area and the girls spoke to their sister in Ireland on the old dog and bone. (Yet the bBC reports: The whereabouts of Somaia, 27, and Ibrihim, 17, are currently unknown.)
3) They were offered free passage out, but refused as they didn’t trust the army. (The irony here is that anti_MB protesters had besieged the mosque and the army took it to stand in-between the warring fractions.
4) That they hadn’t been offered water for 8 hours
And I wondered, why would people visit Egypt during a crisis. and that most normal people would have sought shelter in their embassy in which to get sent home (in this case Ireland) ASAP.
So on that note the question I have to ask is did these people seek asylum in Ireland and if so why did they return to a country where it seems they fear for their lives.
The bBC, refusing to ask question which count?

Oh yeas I forgot to mention the bBC above reports:
Omaima – a final year student at Blanchardstown Insititute of Tecnology – told RTÉ of the terror inside the mosque as gunfire was heard.
And here is what the young lady had to say the other day:
“We fear Allah not bullets”

‘Looks like somebody is talking porkies’
Now, now (and don’t think it hasn’t been noticed what you did there), I’d be after thinking some would prefer the word, ‘blarney’.
As any little ‘boys & girls will be boys and girls’ activity going on is simply a bit of a ‘barney’.
All good clean fun. Well, bar the murder and mayhem. You can fast forward that. The BBc usually manages to.

I thought the Irish were not British and had not been for nearly a century so why is the BBC harping on about this non-story?
They don’t pay the licence fee either, yet.

Has the Koran been translated into Gaelic then?
Would any of this “Oirish Family” be able to give us a verse of an Irish song(not easy, most of them are drinking ones…or fighting the British…more to their taste, that latter one?).
No…they`re as Irish as Tony Cascarino…

No, there’s only one Q’ran, but it contains all the bits that the jihadists seek to justify their savagery.
The principle of abrogation ensures that apologists for the violence, anti-semitism, misogyny, homophobia, et al, can find enough nice bits to reinforce their view of Islam being the ROP.
The nice bits are superseded by whatever is written later, and hence the violent savages can always find something that trumps any moderates.

If you read the book you will not be confused.
When I complained to my local MP about Spencer and Geller being banned from the UK, recently, he wrote back branding Spencer an extremist. And that from a Conservative MP!

The Home Office has form. The did it before with Geert Wilders leader of the Party for Freedom, the fourth-largest political party in the Netherlands. You wonder where they get this advice – I guess supporting freedom is “extremist” to the Machiavelan posh-boys in the Home Office. Seems Tories are intolerant of “freedom”, though they dole benefits out to Anjem Chaudary, who seems too busy to take a proper job.

Just as well he is not an extremist, like Robert Spencer.
Your MP doesn’t know his arse from his elbow, the Home Office should do, but they are not fit for purpose. Remember we never kicked out Quatada – he returned to Jordan his own free will, as did his parasitic family.

There’s a fight going on! I’m afraid!
-What shall we do? Shall we get the hell out of here?
No I got a better idea lets get right in the middle of it and hope for the best!
-Good Idea!
Oh. Here comes a BBC journalist.
-Lets tell him a bunch of bollox!
Yeah he’ll be sympathetic. Though if we were English, white tourists caught up in this he would imply we were bloody stupid fools.
-You are right. Don’t worry though we are not foolish British license payers who pay his wages! We are Irish AND Moslem!
-We are ire proof! Say what you like. He will sympathise with our plight
HaHaHaHa!
