BBC Radio Devon, this morning, banging on about cliff erosion and Climate Change. There is a segment on their *inside out* programme tonight concerning such and even before I don’t watch it, I just know what the outcome of it will be. Yesterday BBC radio Devon managed to find a pressure group who wanted to put an end to cliff erosion and the spokesman for this pressure group was telling us to switch off anything that was left on stand by or those lights that were left on. This he said was causing climate change which eroded cliffs. I kid you not.
This logic follows the post earlier about Bjorn Lomborg, who rightly prioritises what can be done with time and money and what is a total waste.
Pouring trillions into millions whose sole function is to fly about the world telling people to switch off lights (if unnecessary, at current energy prices, most will see merit on their own bat) thinking this will have an impact on cliff erosion… is a leap of faith at best. Maybe the programme could be renamed ‘Arse Backwards’ if it continues this meme?
It’s Monday morning, it’s BBc Breakfast. It’s the ‘obesity crisis’ again. Healthy food blah blah. The ‘obesity expert’ is banging on about supermarkets putting doughnuts in the entrance and decrying supersize portion food. Obviously doesn’t shop anywhere I do I’ve just noticed sizes getting smaller. Any bets as to when we get our next lecture on fat/ sugar/ alcohol.
Another anti-men story on Breakfast News presented by the sports announcer that looks like a bloke.

No wonder the twittosphere is raving about it.
Pity; after the Horlix of that last wedding mush I was looking forward to getting back on track without messages being seeded left, left and pink of centre.
Seems Eliot Carver is alive (well, no longer, if like Kenny) and well and truly a fixture in all BBC script meetings.
At least these media monopoly nut jobs seem to have spine, and are not portrayed as an astoundingly uncurious, forgetful sack of rats, like those who use public money to commission propaganda to undermine their commercial rivals.
The driver, an unshaven Mediterranean-looking man in a pale suit, leant over and bared his teeth, hissing in broken English: ‘I. WANT. TO. KILL. YOU.’
Now that did take me aback.
Bloody foreigners, eh, Jeremy? If anyone who didn’t hold all the approved thoughts had singled out somebody’s ethnic appearance like this, they’d be called a racist.
Beeboids’ immediate political opposition to developments they don’t want.
Within seconds of Beeboid news item on French company TOTAL joining U.K exploration for shale gas, Beeboids put in a plug for their political ‘greenie’ chums, who take undemocratic action against such exploration.
So, in future, whenever there is a reference to e.g. the E.U developing into a superstate ‘United States of Europe’, will Beeboids immediately refer to UKIP’s opposition to that? Only kidding.
Oh dear – looks like fracking’s going to take off after all – I could tell that Evan Davis was disappointed.
Has anyone noticed the emphasis has shifted now – not so much “what can we do to stop it”, more “how much are we, landowners, and councils going to rake in from it”. Same old story – money talks.
