No joined up ‘green’ thinking here, all our supermarket carriers get resused as bin liners, as I’m sure many others do as well.
Our local council has just introduced a green bin tax. ie if you want your green bin emptied you have pay an extra £40 a year for the privilege!
Bin day today, my walk with the dog this morning revealed that only about 50% have paid and put their green bins out. Again not much thought given to green policy here, many seem to be doing as I am, by putting my green waste in the general waste bin, its not that I can’t afford it, its principle….
OT, but in the last few months our council has cut recycling collections by half, just announced the same for normal bin collections, and reduced grass cutting the same.
Oddly, the latter is causing the uproar.
A lot of normally OK-ish councillors are reeling from the backlash.
Especially as the only reasons being offered are ‘the cuts’ and the need to maintain essential services at the expense of anything else. Trouble for them is, folk are now looking at what is ‘essential’, and with staff pensions and accelerating ‘affordable housing’ and/or benefits to new voting stock seemingly ring-fenced (a bit like the BBC’s pension shortfall, empire building and incompetence legals), the actual council tax-payers are starting to ask questions.
Some are pretty pointed. If relevant. Like how much a single claim for a car crash caused by poor roadside visibility would cost.
The best one I saw was a suggestion that UKIP got a friendly farmer to carve ‘Vote UKIP’ in all the unmown parks, as that would have every Tory, Lab & Lib Dem politician out with their ride-ons the next day (fuel and time on expenses).
And one doubts the BBC would see any of that ‘newsworthy’.
Just saw St Stephen of Lawrence (with cropped image) on the BBC 6 o’clock news again………………..some blaming of Police officers again……………if I didn’t know better – was he murdered by the Metropolitan Police?
Have you ever seen a news item, documentary, a tribute, a march, a protest, a petition, a charity song for Kris Donald ? Every crime committed by ethnics is airbrushed out by the liberal media.
He was kidnapped, tortured, set on fire and murdered for being white by a gang of muslims.
Mr. Howard appears to be on station, so if the BBC has covered anything that you mention, one is sure the archive will soon be searched and answers swiftly provided.
Just caught a bit of news 24 (10.15am) interview on the Queen’s speech, the interviewer asking why is this tradition still relevant today? It just seemed liked he was trying to plant the seeds of doubt in people’s minds about our traditions and more importantly, the role of the royal family. No agenda there, surely?
Their website also contains a new meme of “”The Zombie Coalition.” Now I know some newspapers have used it but that doesn’t mean the BBC has to start spreading it about their website and using the phrase in their bulletins.
I do believe the Borg Box has issued another arbitrary one liner bot that either sees merit in not citing posts or replying directly to them, or doesn’t know how.
Just like the “one in three people are racist” non-story from last week (clearly a pathetic attempt to stir up hatred towards UKIP) the BBC is now running another meaningless poll about anti-Russian sentiment. Once again they leave out key details about the poll, such as whether the area it covered was strategically chosen to manipulate it towards this result. The poll wasn’t carried out by the BBC itself but it’s clear how they’re spinning it. I don’t know enough about Russia to really have an opinion on it either way, but from what I can tell – and from what’s been said in the comments, many of which are from Russia – the BBC (and the Guardian, big shock) have left out key details about what’s going on in Kiev among other things, in order to make it look entirely one-sided against Russia, the same way they did with Libya and continue to do in Syria by barely if ever reporting on the horrific actions of the rebels and only focusing on the sins of the government. The BBC is supposed to be a balanced broadcaster but once again it shows itself to be anything but.
Interesting interview with Peter Hitchens in which he describes himself as an ‘obituarist’ – for the death of the country.
He covers many issues with which the people posting here care about, including the BBCs Europhilia. He outlines why the Conservative party has to die, how Labour has changed under BLiar, and why the country is finished.
He also attacks UKIP but still urges people to vote for them !
He describes the way that Leftie Dave will ignore the result of any referendum (if he chooses to allow one) if the people go against his wishes.
Another load of information the BBC conveniently left out, no doubt they will get round o it when there’s no other choice, like the fact he deserted which they didn’t report until everyone else had.
Fully expect the BBC to take the Bergdahl/Obama support line – One look at the father with the Mussie beard and quoting Arabic when onstage with the Muslim-In-Chief told me they would love it. Never mind the 6 soldiers killed trying to rescue the little shit. File along with that piece of scum Richard Dart.

It seems to have been quite successful in Ireland, and Northern Ireland, and a number of other countries and cites around the world.

If you watch the Hitchens video below, he talks about polls being deliberately manipulative, and always returning the result the sponsor wants.
