    I wouldn’t mind betting that what they call “Independent voices” and “constructive debate” isn’t want any fair person would call it.

    Funding by the EU for the BBC must be against their charter.Why hasn’t anyone taken them to court to make the charter invalid . Then they wont be able to force payment.

      The operation is called ‘BBC Media Action’. It is both a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee, not funded by the license fee and totally separate from the BBC. Er, except for premises, website, values, people, some money and so on… The main sources of finance are: the Department for International Development (£18.8m); Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (£3.8m); European Union (£2.8m); Foreign & Commonwealth Office (£2.8m) and the US State Department (£2.0m). In other words, just the usual hard left, globalist propaganda outfit softening up the Third World and providing jobs for the boys and girls that you might expect.

    Hm! I thought there was direct EU funding to the bBC just to promote the EU inside the UK.

    The BBC is expanding and hiring loads of new staff. In fact it now has more staff than during the London Olympics. That’s what Lord Hall means by ‘cut-backs’ and ‘value for money’ shows how accountable and trustworthy the BBC is. Are they preparing for the general election?
