Britain is set to impose curbs on Muslim Brotherhood-linked organisations and block activists moving to London after a report by a senior diplomat raised concerns over the group’s links to extremists in the Middle East.
David Cameron asked Sir John Jenkins, the ambassador to Saudi Arabia, to compile a full report on the Muslim Brotherhood after Gulf allies put pressure on the government to curtail the movement’s London-based operations.
Critics of the movement accuse it of links to jihadist groups and of pursuing divisive sectarian politics that infringe the freedom of other religions and Islamic interpretations.
The BBC’s senior Middle East journalist misled the audience about the intentions and actions of one of the most influential Islamic fundamentalist groups not just in the Middle East but around the world, notably in America and here in the UK where we had the unedifying spectacle of the SNP cosying up to its members seeking to make them into SNP MSPs in a shameful example of betrayal in order to win the ‘ethnic vote’.
Possibly Bowen played down the Muslim Brotherhood’s extremism because of those close links to the UK…Tariq Ramadan after all is also closely tied to the MB and yet he is a favourite of the BBC who brings him on to reassure everyone that Islam is not only peaceful but can be reformed to make it progressive, liberal and tolerant…..Europeanising Islam he tells us, rather than Islamising Europe.
But that would be a lie.
Every single fact posted above by Alan fully shows how Jeremy Bowen has deliberately misled audiences concerning the Muslim Brotherhood.
And yet, because he is part of the “impartial” BBC, worshipped by all left of centre viewpoints, the caravan simply moves on, even though the dogs have incessantly barked.
Sir John Jenkins, your barking was in vain. Neither your Prime Minister who hired you, nor the National Broadcaster who will calmly ignore your findings, will care two hoots for whatever you might have said.

One presumes that, should things deteriorate to a point where MB actions don’t assist PR narratives, Barry, Call Me Dave and Aunty’s on-call collection of talking heads will be on hand to say they’re not really… a brotherhood, and are just giving brotherhoods a bad name.

I was reading how (Murdered) David Haines and the other English fellow held hostage presumed that as they were helping Muslims they would be free from attack/kidnapping from the peaceful followers of Islam. But it didn’t and just like Frank (don’t shoot, I’m a Muslim) Gardner they found out ,you can’t trust a Muslim, if your white and non-Islamic

Bowen need not worry. Cameron will not act against the Brotherhood. He has just had a a Cobra meeting and these are usually followed by appeasement and steps to tighten up on the scope of those portrayed as the far right. Tough on anyone who will be protesting this weekend outside No 10 against the muslim rapists. Islam is a religion of peace and has an important role to play in our society.
