Amused to hear that 5Live sports presenter, George Riley, wasn’t wanted at a ‘posh’ BBC radio station (presumably Radio 4) because his accent wasn’t good enough.(10:09)
‘When I first started here someone from another station, another BBC network, which has a number slightly lower than 5, said I didn’t sound right so they wouldn’t have me on their station.’
So much for celebrating diversity.
Though not all found him so unattractive apparently:
i have to admit,i like george,a good old working class lad from up north, what i dont like is this class snobbery and bullying shown towards him every morning on the breakfast show by big headed rachel burden ,that women is always taunting and teasing him about his background, and george gives old rachel as good as he gets, but i can sense sometimes that george gets fed up with all this workplace bullying and taunting and i think rachel should lay off the poor lad.

Hugh should surely know by now that you have to pay for the professional services you require.

usual left wing snobs. They never practice what they preach and I thought being left wing was about looking after the working class? Nope they just look down their noses at any real working class they meet
