Why is the BBC giving this herbert more publicity?…….
Immigration Street protesters gather outside Channel 4 offices
A group of Southampton residents are protesting outside Channel 4’s headquarters against the pending TV series Immigration Street.
Muslim broadcaster and community activist Mo Ansar, who lives in Southampton and took part in the protest, said the series producers, Love Productions, had been “reckless in their approach”.
He said: “We’ve seen with the Benefits Street programme and the programmes on Gypsy traveller communities that this sensationalist broadcasting results in prejudice.
“Both these communities have had backlashes. It fuels and feeds the far-right.”
A know-nothing self-publicist who will jump on any bandwagon to get himself on the tellyand in the media.
I’m sure we all benefit from his words of wisdom. Cheers BBC. Remind me, just why did so many BBC programmes refuse to have him on?
An yet he’s back.
“Why is the BBC giving this herbert more publicity?…….”
Possibly.. the need for the appearance of a degree of separation in their advocacy, and the list of names on producer iPhones to provide the magic sound bite is rather limited.
Hard not to see the BBC riding to the rescue when another media strays off piste as classic censorship in support of propaganda.
The premise they appear to be promoting is that airwaves can be packed with ‘reporting’ it approves of (and as such as BBC Watch show, are prepared to make things up where necessary), but anything that sours the narrative is beyond the pale
Have to appreciate Ch4 deploying the now inevitable spokesdroid to calm waters by saying all will be well as they have professional integrity. Hope the BBC liked the irony of that.

By coincidence (and hoping I have the tech skills to port the URL), there is this tweet worthy of complement just now:

@nmsonline @MoAnsar My favourite Mo Ansar news today is the tweet that has surfaced in which he claims to be a sheikh. Brilliant.
That’s got to have elevated him in BBC eyes beyond ‘community leader’ by now, surely?

‘Both these communities have had backlashes. It fuels and feeds the far-right.’
Translation:
‘We are beyond criticism or any kind of reporting which we consider to be negative.’

Mo Aswar is a lecturer…lawyer….now a sheikh….self-appointed Community leader…..islamic scholar…..what else?…….what he actually is, BBC, is Walter Mitty. Time this moron was exposed, not revered.

If this is ‘promoting’ Mo, then the BBC does a lot of promoting. It promotes everything from…everything to…everything. Why, in this very article it promotes a Channel 4 programme.
I await your next post about the BBC’s promotion of David Vance.
