MID WEEK OPEN THREAD

Middle of the week and time for a new thread. I noted that Jeremy Bowens was referring to the Islamic savages that burned the Jordanian pilot alive as “fighters” last night, although on the Today programme this morning I heard the word “terrorist” used, which was welcome if overdue. Anyway, here’s a thread for your use!

How low can the Labour Party sink? The party is part of a child sex cover up in Rotherham for years and do nothing, yet what does the local MP have to say when Nigel Farage is forced to cancel an event in Rotherham due to fascists?

Hilarious Farage is trapped inside the #Rotherham UKIP shop by people objecting to him coming to rubber neck at victims!— Sarah Champion MP (@SarahChampionMP) February 6, 2015

I was going to do a first, and tweet back exactly what I thought of her (and probably be done for free speech), but many have beaten me to it.

The bare faced cheek of that woman. Saying she cares about the Rotherham survivors. That’s like Dr Mengele saying he ‘cares’ about the survivors of his live human experimentation.

I see she’s deleted it. There was a screen grab of it when I originally linked that BBC page, but it’s gone now. Too bad for her I got the embed code first.

In fairness to the BBC, they’ve replaced it with a video of her telling Andrew Neil how funny it was. Her response when he wondered if she’d find it funny if UKIP won her seat? “I hope if they win, they will do as much as I have done to try to prevent this crime.” What, she hopes they’ll do bugger all? Yes, that probably is what she meant.

I can’t believe this has done UKIP’s chances any harm, but they really are too thick to realise it.

        ‘I see she’s deleted it’

Labour being the masters of social media, that is probably for the best.

Then again, sources close to the BBC may say that often the story evolution can be more exciting than the original story.

We shall see if that which she prefers no longer seen comes back to haunt her, and if so beyond here, Guido or a DP backwater to, say, a Norman ‘Labour wishes they hadn’t said’ Smiff Summary on the main news.

Not like the SWP to come out in support of an organisation that covered up rapes.

          Shocked, I am. Shocked.

The deletion should really put things back in the box. Well, maybe with certain astoundingly uncurious media.

My favourite is from Wrinkled Weasel:

Nigel Farage has every right to visit Rotherham. While he is there, he can remind all those thickos who would vote Labour if Gary Glitter was standing for them, that never again should we allow the Left to appease child molesters.

Just what is it about democracy, as practiced by an informed electorate, that the left fears? Actually, I think we all know the answer to that.
The incident with Nigel Farage in Rotherham, and that loathsome MP’s response, is another example of the mask slipping to reveal exactly what is beneath the Labour façade.

I recall, not that long ago, a gentleman standing on some steps, reading out speeches by Winston Churchill, pounced upon by the police and dragged off for his sins.

And here we have 40-50 thugs, yelling abuse at the offices of a completely legal political party ….. and the police basically let them get on with it.

I am no ‘kipper’, but what the hell is this country coming to ?

A corrupt police officer and two councillors have been accused of having sex with victims of one of Britain’s worst child abuse scandals.

Two councillors and a police officer in Rotherham have been accused of having sex with victims of abuse in the South Yorkshire town, it has been claimed today.
The allegations against the two politicians and a police constable have been reported by The Times as an independent inspection report into Rotherham Council was due to be published today.
The police officer has been also accused of passing information on to abusers in the town. A colleague of the officer has reportedly been accused of failing to take appropriate action after receiving information about the officer’s conduct. Both have been reported to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.

The alacrity of the BBC in reporting that a Rotherham police officer was being investigated for child sex abuse came as no surprise to me.
Funny how they’ve dropped the story like a hot potato.
The original seems to have disappeared from their website too.
Is it because said police officer has just died in a car crash (not known if it is suicide yet)? No, I very much doubt that that is the reason they dropped it.
More likely because the individual in question is called Hassan Ali.
Another fine example of the dumbing down and lowering of entry standards that I witnessed occurring in the 90’s to accommodate ethnic recruits.

    A reminder for Beeboids:

Rotherham Labour Council and its treatment of UKIP supporters (May, 2013)-

“Council which removed foster children after parents’ Ukip membership was discovered finally apologises seven months on.

“Social workers took three Eastern European children away in November.
“Rotherham council originally said couple’s affiliation with right-wing group meant they opposed ‘multiculturalism.’
“It has now back-tracked saying reason for action was badly communicated.
‘The council can confirm that membership of Ukip would not prevent any individual from being considered as a foster carer.’
“But council insists decision was still in the children’s ‘best interests.'”

Mr Rosen, from Golders Green, north west London, explained how he had the chance to ask the question.

“They say you can submit a few questions by email and when you get there. Just before I went in I had a hunch, so I wrote down mine and gave them it,” he said.

“They picked out a few people before the show and they said I could ask mine. But I added the bit at the end about George Galloway. They did not know about that.”

Presenter David Dimbleby had attempted to cut away before Mr Rosen’s reference to the panelists.

“I thought it was necessary to ask,” Mr Rosen told the JC. “Most of the audience were there to see George Galloway and to see what happened.

“The first 45 minutes had been a bit boring. I was not nervous. We were ready for it and I had been waiting.

“It actually looked less heated on TV than it was in the auditorium. It was very raucous in the studio. There were bits where Galloway was completely drowned out.

“When he talked about the Holocaust there were lots of comments from the audience at that point. Some of the microphones were turned down when they came to broadcast it.”

Mr Rosen, a philosophy student, said the atmosphere had been tense before filming began at the Arts Depot centre in Finchley.

“Before they start filming they have a practise round to make sure everything is working ok, the sound and cameras and so on. People booed and hissed when Galloway was introduced. You could sense what was coming.”

Mr Rosen said: “It was obvious what was going to be the main feature of the show. That’s why the BBC did it. they knew why they were coming and what they were doing.”

Mr Galloway has used his Twitter account to claim he was the victim of a “lynch mob”. He encouraged his supporters to call the BBC and complain about the treatment he received.

Hope George’s supporters share the results of their efforts with CECUTT. Maybe they’ll be fast-tracked, as can happen?

They could also hook up with UKIP on a class action effort once the BBC has dug Nige out of Rotherham and the local MPs nifty line in conciliation.. Why not?

I ask myself whether the police in Rotherham would have allowed a mob to ‘imprison’ either Cameron, Clegg, Miliband, Salmond or Bennett in their respective candidates building, and prevent them from cutting a ribbon? The question is purely rhetorical, of course.

Further C4 left-fest with Jackie Long. Interview with Muslim woman’s leader who was glad that the good people or Rotherham gave Farage short shrift… She wears the traditional dress but she’s well versed in the ultra-modern game of b*llsh1t; the good people of Rotherham never went near the place; a rabble of rent-a-mob thugs organised a stunt… but don’t let the truth get in the way of a good PR piece.

Then the deification of Ann Cryer; the ex-MP who said it was happening years ago. In the spirit of revisionism, I expected to see Nick Griffin walk in, and for Jon Snow to shake his hand and apologise for C4’s smears over the years.

OK, I lied; I made the last bit up.
