Muslims must rise up and publicly debate the role of Orthodox Islam in Public life.
British Muslims should re-think how they view their presence in Britain, realising that it is their country in which they will spend their future as Muslims. Muslims must work hard to establish Islam in the UK, or at least ensure that the UK is a suitable place where Muslims can live without compromising their faith and such may entail the involvement in the socio-political dynamics of the country.
The British Government must be extremely cautious not to fail its people by making the detrimental mistake of ignoring the real needs of the second largest religious group in the country.
The census additionally shows that the Christian population of England and Wales is ageing whilst the Muslim community is relatively young.
This sends a very strong message to Britain and to the international community that it is almost impossible to change Orthodox Muslim norms. Is it then worth the effort of liberal Muslims to continue in their attempt to promote liberalism while it is the pure Orthodox Islam that is flourishing and penetrating people’s lives?
Matthew Goodwin, a leftwing academic has made it his job to study the ‘far Right’ and the ‘Counter Jihad movement’……from his work in 2013 we can see that 59% of his poll agree that there will be a ‘clash of civilisations’ between white Britons and Muslims…21% disagree. Further more 52% of Conservatives, 33% of Labour, 18% of UKIP and 24% ‘other’, and only 5% of the BNP agree with the EDL (as was).
Goodwin is however a campaigner for Islam…
Clearly, there remain challenges, some of which will be tackled directly by the new government working group on anti-Muslim prejudice (of which I am a member).
History has taught us, once generational drift has started it is an incredibly powerful catalyst for change.
This generational drift toward a more liberal and progressive majority will take time. Younger citizens who, over time, will come to replace the ‘angry, old white men’ will need insulating from the effects of a continuing economic crisis and austerity. Policy makers will also need to work hard to ensure that levels of contact between different ethnic and religious groups (which is important in curbing prejudice) remain strong and robust.
The fact that the opportunity has arrived is not up for debate. Whether this social change is realised, however, is. The broad message is clear: Britain is in the midst of a silent and generational struggle against prejudice, which incorporates hostility toward Muslims and Islam. This presents progressives with an opportunity, but they will need to work hard to ensure that it is grasped.
Scary that someone could be so determined to support a religion that undermines everything his own society stands for? He can’t wait for the ‘angry white man’, whom he blames for unwelcome anti-Islam attitudes, to die out! All a bit too Big Brother for me.

Across the world, and increasingly in Europe and the UK, a unique Christian evangelical movement is growing.

Snippy. Alan’s analogy is just to refer to the consistency of the message systems prevalent in both system, not the ideology. The notion of control is also relevant. The BBC is state TV which unlike its North Korean counterpart is not serving the state. I would argue that it has great independence and is a political/cultural role that is serving a class that it both creates and serves. Its economic power in the cultural industries and its ideological consistency across many platforms gives it a coherence that Orwell could not have conceived of. Schumpeter was right that a certain class would emerge with a particular ideological embracing of the Other. He thought it would be benevolent and in this he was optimistic because he ignored its absorption of socialist ideology and its economic interest in extracting from the state. The BBC in its political role picks and chooses as we all aware of when we come across inconvenient stories and discover that the BBC ignores or slants. The BBC has its obsessions and few are the people working at the BBC that will challenge these polished virtues. So, instead of having a dig, how about showing that the BBC is an independent fearless broadcaster of truth rather than a broadcaster that weighs up its political responsibility to not spook the population with too much reality allied with a steady drip, drip, drip of narratives that try to shape how people should understand the challenges they see all round them. Watching the BBC shift from Panglosian optimism on some topics in dystopian pessimism is fun for a while but becomes relentless in its extreme confirmation bias. The other similarity common to all authoritarian media systems is dumbing the content because depth of knowledge would almost certainly provide and understanding that would undermine any ideological model being employed.
Maybe I misunderstand but the logic of your argument is that the BBC is opposed to reality and to truth. However well intentioned it might be it is still in the words of Solzhenitsyn bringing the lie into the world and the end result is always the gulag.
Agree about the gulag and would say that – leaving on one side the physical constraints of that system – that in terms of a powerful state and a BBC propoganda machine, it often feels that we increasingly being policed about what we can express and told what we should think. Everyone knows the UK is nothing like North Korea; their state propagandists are awful; no cunning or subtlety whatsoever. Our state broadcaster is best-in-class, leading the world in changing attitudes without the subjects being aware of it.

Actually, the reason, long ago, I decided not to have kids, was because of the world that will be left to them, that I am powerless to stop.
I care passionately about my country, my origins, my way of life, but the war is lost…I cannot bring myself to push a white, christian based kid or two into this world…it would be a punishment for them.

So a few people here (can clones be classed as …people?) have objected to anybody -but esp Allan- from seeing something wrong with the fact that Muslims breed like rats. Yes I said that right rats. Here’s why I object:
1) Look around the world each and every Islamic nation is bursting at the seams with people, so much so, they all all striven by internal (And external strife) which is why their biggest exports are..its people
2) In an age where the left promote this line that man is poisoning this Planet, the one thing they remain silent on is over population (far easier to blame the west) Instead they promote us all to eat insects, less meat or even meat grown in vats in which to sidestep the issues of third world overpopulation.
3) As mentioned above the biggest export from these countries is their people and as soon as they land in the west, they replicate the exact conditions they left, conditions which ruined their homeland. So we see religious bigotry, nepotism, disease, criminality and Riots.
4) Instead of asking these people to integrate, the left have instead promoted the line that actually the indigenous population should do more. Well for over 50 years they have done just that and still, the left promote the line, that the locals should do more. All the while the immigrants continue to remain opaque to non-believers.
5) With this polarised mindset that the locals should do more, the left have allowed: Bigamy, intolerance for others (Women,gays, etc) to flourish in the petri dish of Political correctness. This is why we had Roy Hunnerford, Rape Gangs, Rotten Boroughs, Islamic take over of Schools, Honour KIllings, Halal Food forced on us, the growth of Anti-Semitism and of course Terrorism. Only last night I read that 2 more (yes 2 more) police forces demanded the names of people who purchased the survivor issue of Charlie Hebdo. Get instead of defending the people from intolerant Islam. the police in order not to be seen as racist defend Intolerant Islam from its victims.
So back to the article just reading the last paragraph shows the huge brainwashing agenda by the left in which to try and tell me that the huge birthrate by Muslims can on be a good thing

In my view the BBC has undermined Britain in many ways for the last 30 or 40 years but by far the most damaging has been its support and propagandising in favour of mass immigration. Anyone who visits any northern town can clearly see the growing tide of Islamification and all the problems that this brings to the local community, scandals like Rotherham and Rochdale being particularly awful examples, but the problems extend to just about every walk of life. It is impossible to see any benefits as accruing to those who lived there originally. The whole culture of these towns is turned upside down without the consent of those who used to live there and you can feel the fear and resentment growing.
The liberal left have made anyone who raises a voice of protest about Islamification feel like a racist and has hunted them and vilified them remorselessly. The BBC has been one of the most effective tools in those witch hunts. In addition the BBC has deliberately distorted and suppressed the truth about the impact of islamification and has indeed told outright lies about it.
Basically the BBC wants us to meekly accept the growth of Islam in our country without any constraint . Eventually, probably towards the end of this century, this will lead to the Islamifcation of the UK, with non Muslims being treated as second class citizens. Well said and all true, but sadly Sky, ITV and LBC are fast catching up, Sky and LBC in particular. For the causal TV/radio news viewer/listener its almost impossible to get a balanced, objective and accurate portrayal of the days events without an underlying agenda or bias by omission.

Its laughable, the TV companies (especially local TV) now go out of their way to find ethnic ‘Vox Pops’ that go totally against the local demographics, the reverse discrimination is blatant.
In the last few months it has also become noticeable in TV adverts, especially banking adverts.
