BBC Breakfast cover the Clarkson fracas. No new information but the viewer gets a pretty good insight into the personality clash that exists between the uber-PC broadcaster and their biggest attraction. Love him, hate him, can they live without him? England cricket and KP, anyone?
A former Stig explains to the sofa dwellers that : “We’re not shy, retiring wall flowers”
Ouch, that must have hurt Charlie Stayt, Bill Turnbull and the rest of the house eunuchs.
Then an entertainment commentator further explains : “Many people like what he says, and that’s not represented in many BBC shows”
Watched the BBC giving this “big air” , the Al BBC words of wisdom
“apology …well its a start”
I heard the laughable family excuse for where they got the money,
a story about as thin as thrice used bog roll …
but never mind that eh?…
wider family? … aw!, put it out of your mind entirely
The ahem 3 terror teenies no more eh! …
No, “talk to the hand”, far right far right, EDL,
… nowt to do with terror … thank you and goodnight!
“Don’t all Britons – especially parents, teachers and religious leaders – have a solemn duty to instil in the young a moral sense of the evil of terrorism?
Yet instead of pointing this out to the families yesterday, MPs lavished sympathy on them and, in their craven reluctance to offend Muslim feelings, encouraged this bogus victim culture.
More sickening still, Scotland Yard chief Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe now offers a grovelling apology on behalf of the police for handing the girls letters which they failed to pass on to their parents.
But, of course, the girls’ families were not the first to blame the security services for radicalising young Muslims.”
The bBC showed all the session. The families were asked where did they get the money for the air fares, they said they did not know. When the police were asked where did the money come from, they stole jewelry from family and fenced it.
Well there you have a clear blatant lie, did the bBC highlight this obvious point, not a single mention.
‘ Some say, he was involved in a fracas when deprived of food…
-all we know is he’s Clarkson.’
“Food fight! Revealed: BBC suspended Jeremy Clarkson ‘for punching producer because his DINNER wasn’t ready on time’ – as 150,000 sign petition calling for Top Gear star to be reinstated .”
“BBC chief in banking tax scandal faces more pressure to stand down: Predecessor says she should consider if public still trust her involvement with HSBC.
“BBC Trust head Rona Fairhead received over £500,000 from HSBC last year.
“53-year-old businesswoman is currently paid £110,000 annually at the BBC.
“She was grilled by group of MPs at Commons Public Accounts Committee.
“Her predecessor Sir Michael Lyons said her reputation has been damaged.
“The committee’s chair Margaret Hodge told her she is not fit for BBC post.”
Lyons has also had a go at Michael Grade for criticising Broadcasters, including the BBC, over their arrogant demands for the leaders’ debates to take place at the time and date THEY choose. There was something sinister in the way Lyons said Grade kept his his support for the Conservative Party quiet when he was at the BBC. As though he meant to say ” we wouldn’t have employed him had we known about his conservative political leanings.” I think Lyons had inadvertently let the cat out of the bag about the whole of the BBC’s political leanings.
Might I suggest that we all sign the reinstate petition to show the Fascists that we are not cowed by their bullying us into an intolerant one party state and their control of what we are allowed to see and hear on the media.
Here’s the other view
We all know the BBC is not producing many watchable programs and its future is in grave doubt if its programming gets even more bland, so the loss of the flagship money generating program ‘Top Gear’ might deal a significant blow to the corporations future, especially if the format is moved to ITV.
I’m holding off signing until I know a few more facts.
So far even the extent of this ‘punch’ seems shrouded in BBC mystery.
Drifting to ‘two wrongs’ territory, no one yet seems terribly interested in standard on-set behaviour by others. I can’t recall a gig or shoot where someone was not in someone else’s face.
OK, we’re in new zero tolerance world, and maybe that’s a good thing in some ways, but with the bbc it’s when the double standards are on such naked display that they look such a nasty sack of rats.
Think of what they have moved heaven and earth to excuse or cover up versus who they have outright targeted for ‘retirement’ to maintain the purity of the hive mind.
Agreed. If it turns out Mr Clarkson decked someone for no good reason, the 264,596 (and counting) who have signed may feel a little foolish. Here I will make a confession. I don’t particularly like what I see of Jeremy Clarkson. But he annoys the right sort of people, so generally gets a pass from me.
If it turns out he was set up, he could do worse than very publicly quit the BBC and take his co-presenters online, to such as Netflix or Amazon, with the strapline “Now you don’t need a TV licence to watch us”.
Not really the best outlet given that ‘if’ we both stall over at present, but a commenter on Guido’s first thread pointed out this petition is more a measure of the BBC’s popularity, and they are being found very wanting indeed, Think what people are prepared to ignore, of forgive, just to stick it to Danny and the boys & girls.
Meanwhile, karma continues to smile on the righteous (or maybe, to add to DG-in-waiting Danny’s delusional meltdown paranoia further, perhaps there are moles in his camp too? Now if that doesn’t keep things in the HenryVIII/Bunker camps nicely on edge, I don’t know what will):
I have signed why? because if the BBC feels it’s acceptable doing this so publicly like they did with Cliff Richard also axing the recorded show and killing the others all before the facts are out then sod them and their producer !
I also feel no compulsion to have to defend my defence of Clarkson with special pleading, s$%^ happens in high stress environments but because of who he is and what he represents he gets the extra hatchet job ! so many in the BBC have committed far worse crimes let alone the crimes the BBC itself covered up ! he may have hit a man tough call a lawyer but they stood by and allowed two to be harassed/bullied to their deaths!
Most of the BBC pinkoes appear to be so insufferably PC and self righteous, I would have decked one of them on my first day of employment at that Communist hive. I’m usually quite a peaceful chap, usually preferring to use a well directed insult to puncture left wing pomposity than direct violence, but the sneering, condescending, “holier-than-thou” cultural Marxists the Corporation employs would cause a pacifist to bring a cudgel to an argument. Being employed under such an oppressive regime and the climate of fear created by the thought crime nazis must be very stressful for anyone trying hard not to accidentally express a “forbidden” viewpoint. Think of a covert Protestant working at “Bloody Mary’s” court trying to keep his head down when all others suspect your true leanings.
Obviously we would never condone violence(if it’s even true) but I’m sure we can all imagine what life must be like for the few people like Jeremy Clarkson who work for the BBC.
Can you imagine what it must be like to work in a place where even the walls are covered in pc, left-wing drivel?.
I don’t condone violence either, but perhaps an exception could be made for certain BBC staff to be given a good tw@tting. Chris Evans, Jeremy Vine, Evan Davies, Stephen Fry, etc., etc.
And it was, of course, Danny Cohen who suspended Clarkson in an amazing “I’ve finally grown a pair” about turn. It was only a few days ago that Cohen was bemoaning that his “no all male panels” directive required him to “keep pushing” for it to happen as, presumably, he was being ignored.
I look forward to the new season of Top Gear with new hosts Gok Wan, Graham Norton and Jo Brand.
“North Wales Police have passed a file to the Crown Prosecution Service on
the general election campaign fracas in which John Prescott punched
a member of the public.”
The BBC is fretting about why there has been “a surge in Muslim prisoners” (see http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-31794599). Apparently Muslims make up about 5% of the general population but nearly 15% of the prison population, meaning they are over-represented by a factor of three. The usual, tired, discredited cliches are rolled out to ‘explain’ this including poverty, negative stereotypes, Islamaphobia (sic) ad nauseam. We discover that only a minority are inside for terrorism-related offences (any child rapists, though?). We hear from the ‘independent’ Barrow Cadbury Trust, an example of whose world view can be found here http://www.barrowcadbury.org.uk/migration/.
But our world class broadcaster has missed out one possible reason why there are a disproportionate number of Muslim prisoners. It’s a controversial theory, but perhaps – just perhaps – is it because they commit a lot of crimes?
The guardian are currently running with the story that Labour are demanding answers to why blacks and certain Asians represent the largest group of young long term out of work people. The comments don’t follow the leftwing angle that blacks and certain Asians can only be victims of racism in their inability to find work.
Although historically ethnic groups have been the last to get hired and the first to be fired. Your assertion is as stupid as explaining the business cycle as being the result of people becoming systematically lazy and then reinvigorated after a suitable period of idolence. It doesnt work like that I’m afraid. There’s a dicipline called ‘economics’ which might interest you.
‘Economics’ = too many people coming in to this country = not enough houses , hospitals , schools and doctors including the added threat of the ‘Trojan Horse’ etc etc etc ?
First when you refer to prisoners do you include the prisoners who have been administratively detained? Second, how many are there in, heck how many camps are there for, administrative detention? Third, how many prisoners are there under judicial detention, 1 million, 4 million, 10 million? Forth, how do you account for the almost half the population which is classified as “rural” and are restricted in travel so that many are prisoners in their home villages?
I could go on, but the fact is there is no way to get a good estimate of what the pro-rate imprisonment rate is in China.
There is no discipline in Economics at all and it is almost as bad as Sociology for it’s blatant disregard for rigor and methodology. The only saving grace is that at least economists don’t claim to be scientists like sociologists do.
I have heard that non-Muslim prisoners convert to Islam in prison because they find that Muslims are accorded better treatment, food etc. Sound logical in our illogical country.
For some context, which INBBC doesn’t provide, here are hundreds of articles from ‘Jihadwatch’ archives, on Muslim activities relating to British prisons-
Young people are more likely to be in prison. Muslims are more likely to be young.
How many of these muslims became muslim in prison but weren’t muslim before?
LBC debating the Clarkson ‘fraca’ a caller who claims he works in marketing seriously recons the bBC should go for an ‘ethnic’ presenter, the names of Jessica Ennis and Gina Yashere are suggested – FFS!
I’m fast coming to the conclusion that all of our media has been infiltrated by Common Purpose multicultural diverse communists. Listening to LBC is no different to the bBC, over the last few mornings I’ve listened, I’ve struggled to understand what 50% of the callers are saying ….
BBC Breakfast just went a second round with Clarkson.
They managed to find two commentators who agreed the show must go on without Punch
It amuses me that these people who claim Top Gear would be just great without the main man are actually the sort of people who have a distaste for the show.
Go on BBC, be egged on by these PC-minded commentators and have your top rated show fall flat like a typical BBC soufflé .
So the BBC find 2 who oppose Clarkson and give them a voice, but will ignore the offense they cause to the quarter of a million people who have signed the petition in the last 17 hours alone.
Goeff is right and who appointed you as the Intelligence Police?
By the way , I think the word is ‘inhabits’ rather than ‘inhibits’…..unless you were referring to LBC being ‘inhibited’ by Enrichment?
Leading the R4 Today News and big discussion about it, is the BBC s brave impartial undercover programme into child exploitation, the selling of children in Bradford Rotherham, Sheffield, Oxford.. no sorry make that, China!
It’s fairly obvious that the Common Purpose zealots at the BBC want shot of Jeremy Clarkson, once and for all. They’ve been digging his grave for quite a while now, putting up snipers in advance, all in readiness for just such a manufactured event as this latest ‘fracas’, having already given him a ‘final warning’. Think of it as laying trip mines, then just standing back and waiting for him to set them off. He was never going to win.
The BBC is determined to stamp out anyone still in its ranks who dares possess a set of opinions out-of-step with the prevailing left wing, multicultural, inclusive, diverse, progressive, pro-EU, pro-CAGW doctrines of the massed ranks of the Politburo at the Corporation. Clarkson simply cannot be allowed to continue (Andrew Neil will be next). This is a purge. In China and Soviet Russia they simply marched them around the back of the building and put a bullet in the back of their heads – the BBC prefers to ‘build a (bogus) case’, often assisted by willing weasle accomplices on the Top Gear production team who, like spies, ‘leak’ useful information about Clarkson back to their political masters in the upper echelons of the Politburo.
The BBC is now all but out of control and very, very firmly in the political grip of a left wing, Common Purpose agenda that will continue to steal, with menaces, £3.5bn + a year off the British public – under threat of criminal sanction – and then launder that money to promote (often in the slyest, most disingenuous methods possible) it’s political messaging in favour of New Labour, the EU, so-called ‘man made climate change’ and open-door immigration (amongst other things).
The general discussion on Al Beeb’s radio in Wild Wales this morning was negative towards him – obviously a bunch of ‘hand picked’ commentators . There were a few digs at Farage to boot.
Oh hello man never seen on a bus anywhere, not seen you lately, not since in fact you claimed that we were all in favour of driving Muslims into concentration camps, remember ? And do you remember that some of us found that in fact the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem had been an honoured guest taken on a tour of concentration camps to see the about to be murdered Jews ? Remember that ? And also the little fact he had helped found three SS Muslim Divisions which had committed many war crimes in South East Europe ? Funny thing is you went very quiet after that was put to you, so I’ll put it to you again, do you remember that little episode ? Would you like to apologise to us for who did what and who on past evidence might put who into a concentration damp ?
” Ugly art, ugly music, ugly buildings, ugly talk is more and more a part of our society and is now almost dominant. It is a calculated attack on our spiritual nature, a gambit intended to degrade us. Most people, who are mostly gormless, just accept it, thinking it is progress. ”
Haven’t seen Carol Thatcher for ages, hope she wasn’t taken round the back of the building ( no pun intended ). Stabbed in the back by that overweight comedienne ?
In view of the fact that the BBC has suspended Jezza for punching a producer over an issue with food, why didn’t the Labour party suspend Prezza for punching an onlooker over an issue with food? I note that Prezza remained in the Labour party.
That’s because Prezza was attacked and Jezza was allegedly doing the attacking. Bit sad really given he is yet another one of Cameroon’s mates. Hope this is now clear to you.
One was a work place dispute between two people who have worked together for a long time ! the other a protected politician with police escort who still violently attacked a member of the public like his boss with phones and other violent labour pollutants but as he is one of Eddies mates I’m sure you pro pervy BBC finger puppet will now be clear on that !
So, if you know someone for a long time its ok to punch them. What happens if you know them for a really really long time?
Tell me are you Tories all like this and does your tribe still use rocks and pointed sticks to settle disputes?
If you bother to watch the full film of Prezza being ‘attacked’ it is quiet illuminating. Wurzel chucks an egg at Prezza who them lashes out at the first person he sees laughing – Wurzel. Watch carefully and you’ll see that Prezza could not have been aware of who threw the egg but, lucky for him, he hit the right target.
This is a bit different from an un-filmed altercation the evidence for which is very slim with only one side giving any info – Clarkson is wisely keeping quiet.
The producer has actually stated that Clarkson did not actually hit him. It appears to be an argument that they both indulged in, resulting in a but of push and shove. The liberal progessive bigots at the head of the BBC appear to be using it as an excuse to censor and get rid of the best TV presenter on BBC.
You can tell the BBC knives are out for Clarkson by the way they report what happened.
Clarkson took a swing at a producer because his dinner wasn’t ready.
Make the victim appear selfish, petty, and aggressive, probably willing to lash out at the nearest person regardless of responsibility.
Clarkson took a swing at a producer in a row over food.
Again it makes their victim appear selfish petty and aggressive.
The truth:
Clarkson took a swipe at an assistant producer who had forgotten to order the catering for the entire cast and crew, meaning that come lunchtime there was no food and the rest of the days filming was wrecked.
Seeing as Clarkson has a financial interest in Top Gear it was also costing him a great deal of money !
The comments on the BBC website show that our feelings about the BBC are by no means isolated, but I wonder how long they will be able to last.
“I bet you they give the job to Stephen Fry or Clare Balding!!
………………
Absolutely terrible thing to say……………but hits the nail smack on the head.
Left wing, muslim, homosexual or anti British and youve got it made at the BBC. ”
“dont condone violence but without characters like Clarkson the BBC will soon be just a sea of P/C moribund greyness where everyone is to scared to say of doing anything for fear of offending somone or somthing.”
‘Clarkson took a swipe at an assistant producer who had forgotten to order the catering for the entire cast and crew, meaning that come lunchtime there was no food and the rest of the days filming was wrecked.
Seeing as Clarkson has a financial interest in Top Gear it was also costing him a great deal of money !’
So that’s all right then! Thanks for clearing that up! Its OK to hit people if its not going your way. Got it. So presumably the Iraqis ,Afghans and Iranians would want to hit us for the same reason. But that’s ok.
Taking a swipe at someone is not hitting them, and again you’ve made up a situation which you can then express your aggreivement over. Clarkson denies he hit the man, and surely as a fair person you would want to wait until the facts come out & give him the benefit of the doubt? Or maybe not? Why bother waiting for the facts when you can make them up to give a great opportunity to moan?
So, now that James May has spoken that it was a ‘bit of a dust up’ and that “it isn’t that serious” can we expect you to retract your statement and apologise? Or is it that case that someone who doesn’t share your Fascist views deserves what ever they get?
” Why bother waiting for the facts when you can make them up to give a great opportunity to moan? ”
Given your views on the driver involved in the Glasgow bin lorry accident can we now expect you (and others here) ” to retract your statement and apologise?”
The Muslim driver story was pushed by MI5 to deflect from the identity of the other two occupants of the cab. Investigations seem to be hampered by a D notice covered up by a super injunction which has also erased evidence of the D notice within British legal jurisdiction. The victims of this terrorist incident are also the victims of an establishment who support mass immigration.
Partly Albaman but partly not. There was a great deal of speculation at the time when the public sector completely over reacted and used the apparatus of state to ban all publicity.
When they do that they engender suspicion among the rest of us, especially when a terrorist group has asked followers to use that method to kill people. It’s not unreasonable that people put two & two together, and on this occasion made 5.
Shotgun attack from Albaman, I am one of the ‘others here’ who never blamed the driver. Because of the excessive secrecy though I did understand why some were suspicious.
I think investigations could reveal that the BBC signed a secret contract with Ghost Machine Productions Ltd. If ManonClaphamOmnibus is a BBC moron, then he could warn the other morons that the game is up when the censorship fails.
The same Iraqis and their Irianian backers who murdered these British hostages eh pal ? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-16660750
And I suppose it’s fine to employ child rapists as long as the truth keeps hidden especially if you work hard at keeping it that way I suppose.
Are you on a bonus if you can show your masters that you can annoy the little people who don’t swallow the party line ? Try and earn an honest living eh pal ?
Maybe Top Gear could be replaced by a programme about cars, the last time I saw it there was a curly haired buffoon arseing about with two sycophantic sidekicks while a studio audience clapped like performing seals.
Top Gear is massively successful as it gives its viewing audience exactly what it wants. You however are suggesting it commission yet another show that rams your preferred propaganda down peoples throats.
No wonder people are reaching for the off switch in droves.
They have done several items about electric and electric/petrol hybrids and even hydrogen powered cars. They gave them real-world tests and found them all to be inferior in efficiency and “green-ness” than many conventional petrol and diesel cars. For example, they found that the Prius was less fuel efficient in real world application than the BMW 5 series saloon that they were testing it against. The latest BMW hybrid, although having incredible performance, still only managed about 35MPG. Add in the additional expense, travel and chemical and carbon footprint of the batteries, and the “green-ness” of these cars is no better than conventional cars.
The best car they tested was a prototype hydrogen car back in 2003. Not only was the only exhaust emmision water vapour, but it could also be used as a “mini-power station” to help power your home. That car never made it into production.
As for the other climate related nonsense you spouted, I would say learn the scientific method and then independently review the abomination which con-merchant climate “scientists” are fraudulently passing off as science and yet still getting published.
The more one investigates and critcally and nuetrally examines what these “scientists” actually fraudelently refer to as science, the more you see overt fraud, cherry picking, lies, bullying and criminal neglect.
David, there is such a show which is much closer in format to what TopGear was before Jeremy revamped it. It is called 5th gear and it gets a very small fraction of the audience that TopGear manages, because is is as dull as watching paint dry. But it is available to watch by anyone who actually wants such a show.
Well this “kid” quite enjoys its irreverence – there’s little else on BBC worth watching.
If I were Clarkson, I’d stick two fingers up at the BBC and tell ’em to fuck off.
He’ll do all right, wherever he turns up. There are those who don’t like him, but I would suggest that there are many more who do.
I don’t know (and in fact, have never heard of) the “producer” he is alleged to have thumped,. but in my goaty way, having seen pictures of him in the press, I think he probably deserved it.
Man on a bus. No. You’re hung up on ‘looks’, ‘class’, ‘gender’ and of course you’re favorite: ‘race’.
People should be thumped for being incompetent and costing others money. They should be thumped for letting the team down. Smacked around a bit for forgetting the lunches, and given a gentle ribbing for being a useless dickless c*^t.
If it wasn’t for immoral employment law, incompetent f*%kers could be sacked without recourse, and frustrated competent, prudent, conciencious types wouldn’t have their patience stretched by the incompetent fuckwit class of which you appear to be a member, to the extent where they snap at the surreality of it all and smack some tw@t.
Personally I go for expletives instead of fists. 🙂
Have you noticed that the incompetents and vindictive chancers in the public services (Rotherham, Oxford, Mid Staffs hospitals, BBC etc) who either resign or are sacked for negligence or being outed for covering up scandals are Common Purpose “Stepford” types? Have you also noticed how they are then re-employed elsewhere in the public service little loss in salary grade? It just shows that Common Purpose is worse that the Freemasons for looking after their own and at Taxpayers’ expense. It seems competence in your chosen profession is unnecessary when you graduate as one of Julia Middleton’s Pod People (Invasion of the Body Snatchers allusion there.)
Yep, Clarkson will do just fine in the independent TV production world – he is a worldwide, highly profitable brand, especially in connection with automotive programming. If he’s really clever he’ll set up his own production company and collect the worldwide royalties…
And being far away from the cloying, suffocating self-censorship of the hateful Corporation can only be a good thing for him and for us, who like watching him.
The BBC are determined to kill the goose that lays it’s golden eggs for BBC Worldwide. Fine: bring it on. These Common Purpose morons just can’t help themselves, can they?
The problem for Clarkson is that the BBC owns the rights to the show: it bought them from Clarkson in 2012. Accordingly, Clarkson might find it difficult to replicate Top Gear on another channel. OTOH is Top Gear separable from Clarkson?
A couple of years ago the BBC swept away the old-established and popular panel from Radio 4’s Gardener’s Question Time. There was a fairly public hoo-hah: commentators and fans said it couldn’t survive with the new team and, I believe, the sacked personnel started up on a rival channel. Well, GQT survived and is doing as well as or better than ever.
FWIW, my view is that “personalities” are made and broken by the broadcasting companies including the BBC. For instance David Bellamy’s BBC/broadcasting career was destroyed by the BBC when Bellamy made a few sceptical remarks about CAGW. If the BBC wants to continue Top Gear, it will find some other gherkin to take over from Clarkson: in a couple of years it will be “Jeremy Who?”.
Yes the BBC has the rights to the format of Top Gear.
But Clarkson and his people are plenty clever enough to devise an alternative format – and Clarkson would draw audiences on whatever channel he chose to appear on.
The example of Gardeners’ Question Time is hardly relevant. People listen to it on Radio 4 on Sunday afternoons usually – between the lunchtime news and the afternoon play. They will typically not be hopping channels. TV viewing is different – people are hopping channels all the time. The “new” GQT panel was OK, it was a shame the earlier panel were sidelined – but there was no other radio choice for listeners who are interested in gardening. So it was a captive audience.
If Clarkson is sacked from Top Gear – he will go elsewhere. And the idea that the BBC can front the programme with any old muppet and still keep a huge audience does not hold water.
“But Clarkson and his people are plenty clever enough to devise an alternative format”
You may be right but I wouldn’t underestimate the vindictiveness of the BBC nor its enthusiasm for legal action in its own interest (cf Balen Report). Nor would I underestimate the lawyers who drew up the BBC/Clarkson sale agreement: I suspect Clarkson might have great difficulty replicating Top Gear in a recognisable form elsewhere.
Also Top Gear is a unique BBC offering. Certainly viewers like Clarkson and they like the format but who knows what the BBC – and who the BBC – will use as a replacement? My view is coloured by what the BBC has done to other programmes with a loyal following, which following has been maintained/recovered despite an initial kerfuffle about mooted and/or actual changes. Moreover, you undermine your dismissal of the (non)consequences of changes on GQT by admitting it has a captive audience and is a more or less unique programme (ie exactly like Top Gear).
All I’m suggesting is that Clarkson is probably replaceable. Not completely, of course, but I’m sure there are plenty of “personalities” out there who could be relied on to mouth the odd non-politically correct statement and who know something (or could be taught something) about cars.
A point of information. The GQT panel decamped to Classic FM and for a while quite successfully. In the end the programme failed and you hardly need to be a broadcasting genius to work out why: it was simply an anomaly at an all-music station.
The interesting questions are 1/ how the BBC managed to alienate the panel in the first place and
2/ why the BBC has been allowed to dominate the airwaves to such a degree that there is no alternative station for talk radio (and I don’t mean cheap phone-ins).
Clarkson will go on being Clarkson elsewhere if need be. He is the brand. Unliike R4, BBC 1 has rivals.
You simply don’t get it. Do you? Clarkson is hero worshiped by millions, not only in this country, but around the world. If he goes, he will take his 2 mates with him. It doesn’t matter what team of bbc talking heads they replace them with, the whole show will emplode without them.
These guys have a hudge world wide following, and loyal fan base. Clarkson is a very clever guy, he will have checked through all the legal loopholes, and tripwires in his contract with the bbc before he starts up a new format of the show elsewhere.
If the bbc sack Clarkson, then they will really be cutting off their noses to spite their faces.
Let’s face it, they have already lost big sports events like the open golf championship, and are set to lose more in the future. The only thing left on the bbc will be, too many shows evolving left wing the usual left wing comedians, left wing documentrys, bbc left wing news, the none show, and eastenders. It’s really not worth paying your license fee for. Is it?
I think without the three presenters, Top Gear wouldn’t last a further series. The BBC doesn’t have the talent to replace the current presenters. Just look at any other BBC presenter, bland, usually uninformed, useless without an autocue and seemingly unable to think on their feet. Also terrified of saying anything that might be considered offensive. All the BBC’s other programmes could switch presenters without anyone noticing, such is their blandness. You only have to look at the One Show which often has temporary replacement presenters without making any difference to the show, such is the lightweight quality of its “talent”.
The Top Gear franchise would be valueless without its presenters. Perhaps when that does happen, Clarkson could buy back the rights for a song.
Your point would be valid if we were discussing another BBC show like ‘HIGNFY’ where the main people could be replaced with no real loss of purpose. Same applies to GQT. But not Top Gear.
Why? Well simply because, whilst it makes a huge amount of money and is one of the most popular TV shows on British TV, the BBC hate it with a passion and want rid. Simply replacing Clarkson and the other two will not cut the mustard – Fifth Gear found that out. There is a place for a solid, worthy car show and Fifth Gear is just that but it’s audience figure are tiny in comparison. The BBC could go back to old principle with TG BC (before Clarkson) but it would fail as a replacement because it could never reach the same heights without similar presenters. It is they that make the difference, love ’em or hate ’em, and that is what the audience wants. Now can you think of someone else who is Clarksonesque? Even if you could the BBC won’t hire them as they have spent the last five years trying to sack Clarkson so why replace him with a clone?
No, the BBC have thrown the bay out with the bath water, deliberately.
Additionally, where TopGear has been licenced and made in other countries with different presenters, it does not get the following of British TopGear. The unique chemistry between the three personalities is what the audiences love. They are just typical mates slagging each other off and having the best laugh possible and that is great to watch. The audience feel like they are mates with all of us and it relates more strongly to a massive section of the BBC audience, than any other TV show.
For some reason, the only science documentaries on the BBC worth watching, seem to be made by Americans. Those made by the British are unwatchable rubbish made by environmental activists pretending to be scientists.
It’s a crying shame really. I started watching the 2005 (I think) series of Documentaries The Planets on Netflix recently and they are beautiful and informative.
Fast forward ten years and all we get is left wing bilge. It’s so blatant these days even my wife who avoids politics like the plague can see it a mile off.
I’ve been whingeing about this for ages. BBC Drama has long been unwatchable for blatant progressive bias. Most of their documentaries also suffer from an obvious ‘global warming’ left-wing stamp.
It’s very rare to find anything which you could class as a good informative programme anymore. Channel 4 is just as bad. Apolitical, let alone conservative leaning views on mainstream British tv are all but extinct.
BREAKING: News Channel – Court allows ex-wife to bring claim twenty years after divorce against husband who became wealthy later. They were penniless ‘new-age travellers’ when they were married.
The Beeboids are beside themselves with glee at this ruling.
‘The Beeboids are beside themselves with glee at this ruling.’
Actually ,the ruling ,which came from the High Court, was originally reported by Stroud News. The BBC have merely lifted some of the original article. How this shows ‘glee’ is perplexing. Perhaps you could explain why it shows glee?
The BBC website had a ‘ruling expected’ piece before the ruling came through. They have their own team at the court. They just broke into the schedule to carry a statement from the lucky wifey. Sadly; the wifey air-locked live on national TV. Her lawyer them looked flummoxed and seemed to air-lock as well while she struggled to think what was an appropriate response. She finally delievered a standard piece of PR flannel. The Beeb have attached huge importance to the story, but it didn’t deliver for them as they might have expected.
Are the BBC on a slippery slope suspending Clarkson?
I believe it was just one Asian out of work actress who made the complaint. On the other hand we have regular reports on this site from those who have complained to the BBC and been brushed aside or patronised;obviously the wrong hymn sheet.
‘On the other hand we have regular reports on this site from those who have complained to the BBC and been brushed aside or patronised;obviously the wrong hymn sheet. ‘
Thanks for this; I haven’t had such a good laugh in years.
Maybe they don’t take any notice of you because you are are bunch of illinformed, mysogenistic, homophobic, racist flatearthers who only benefit from political representation by virtue of the ability to respire and to draw a cross in a box!
you are are bunch of illinformed, mysogenistic, homophobic, racist flatearthers who only benefit from political representation by virtue of the ability to respire and to draw a cross in a box!
I bet that sounded well in the student union socialist society debating competition.
Cor!!! Look at all those “isms” and “phobias” we are being accused of by our leftie troll. I shall wear those accusations as a badge of honour. I am proud to be a free thinker in this age of politically correct oppression. If individual thought can be classed as beyond the pale by left wing fascists then I am glad I’m an outsider and will NEVER submit to Alinskyite bullying and thought control. UP YOURS, OMNIBUS!!!!
I found that the BBC were made up of a bunch of ill informed morons, evidently because they where made up of environmental activists pretending to be scientists. The BBC are also hypocrites who support a misogynistic and homophobic religion as well as supporting censorship of paedophilia by friends within the BBC and in Rotherham. The BBC is racist against Jews, and hate anyone else that scores well on intellectual of financial success. But as for being a racist, I think most White middle-class morons at the BBC are actually inferior to the average Black person, so they have no right to patronise them.
But the most revealing fact about the inferiority of people like ManonClaphamOmnibus, is the straw man accusation that we are flatearthers, including Astronomers, an ignorance of an opponents position that can only guarantee that ManonClaphamOmnibus would lose any live free open debate on the BBC, this would provide a motive for the BBC to censor debate.
If I could speak to my dead father I would tell him not to go up that Normandy beech on D-Day +3 and fight into Germany because ordinary people like him would be abused by pricks like you. Fight your own fucking wars in future mr ruling elite.
If the original format of Top Gear was brought back it would be completely outdated. If you want a car review there are countless websites and forums you can access.
Top Gear is great entertainment and if you disagree don’t watch it. The fact that Clarkson offends PC lefty types (particularly at the BBC) is a good thing IMO.
We live world where people want to ban things they don’t like and sadly for us they are often successful.
“…We live world where people want to ban things they don’t like and sadly for us they are often successful.”
And more often that not, calls to ban, censor and shut down opinions come from the rancid, fascist left. Whether it’s Common Purpose, or Social Justice Warriors or some bottom-feeding ‘Advocate’ or other, it all amounts to the same wretched thing: ‘I Don’t Like What You Say And I’m Going To Make You Shut Up’.
Dangerously, this is what the bullying left, including the BBC, considers ‘progress’.
I heard BBC R4 news reporting this morning Labour’s claim that the number of young people from ethnic minority backgrounds who have been unemployed for more than a year has risen by almost 50% since the coalition came to power. The implication being that the government is racist and somehow responsible for this.
What I didn’t hear the BBC report was this;
Pamela Geller, noted Islam critic, states bluntly why so many Muslims are living off British welfare:
“53% of Muslim men are depending upon the kuffar. It’s the jiyza. It’s the duty of non-Muslim to pay for the upkeep of the Muslim”.
Baroness Flather, Britain’s first female Asian peer said, in a speech to the House of Lords, “The minority communities in this country, particularly the Pakistanis and the Bangladeshis, have a very large number of children and the attraction is the large number of benefits that follow the child.”
“Nobody likes to accept that, nobody likes to talk about it because it is supposed to be very politically incorrect.”
now that bloody oaf is about to get sacked, Top Gear can become a REAL programme at last. Its taken a while to get rid of that right wing bigot, but he’s going and thats it
Instead of having timed laps around the track which is a pathetic waste of licence payers money as cars are never driven like that in the real world, we can now measure the CO2 emissions, and the car with the least CO2 pollution wins
Instead of looking at how a car is designed and built, we can look at the working conditions of the employees of that company, ascertain whether that company is diverse enough, if it offsets its carbon foot print and look at its tax affairs and see it avoids tax
More needs to be done for disabled drivers, maybe we should have a disabled presenter who can show how easy or not it is getting in and out of a car and the perils that face a disabled driver in todays diverse society
Over time though, cars need to be faded out as they not part of the future, and the bicycle should eventually fulfill that roll on top gear
I think Roger Harabin should play a key role in the new show, bringing with him his environmental expertise and co hosting with naga munchetty and supported by that black disabled fella who’s always on the advert on the news channel for the Travel Show at the top of the hour
sarah montague should also join the team to interview the guest “star” on the show, where she can discuss the difficulties and prejudices the guest has suffered in getting to the top. The audience should be filled totally with members of the UAF
I’m Tarquin Ladida-Jones, Commissioning Editor, Documentaries and Factual at the BBC. I’ve just seen your amazing prog idea. It looks absolutely fab! Can we get together for a chat?
There’s a great new veggie bistro near BH, it had a super write up in the Guardian last week, the BBC has an account there. I’ll get my people to talk to your people to arrange lunch.
How many times will she use the F word, cover her mouth in feigned apology (using both hands);
she does it all the time on QI.
How many warnings has she had for swearing on BBC TV?
What about the lesbians, they should be included also. How disgusting that you should suggest a programme made up of all of the above without persons with alternative sexual lifestyles.
Do you have a complaints department or should I go straight to the police?
Yes, surely the BBC could seize the day and have a new car program presented by three blind, wheelchair-bound, Muslim lesbians. That would be so wonderfully inclusive I can almost feel the joy of watching it now.
You have left out the transgender, different gender, non-gender, self identifying-gender and gender-non-specific people. Those who are offended by being “labelled” as people and those who are offended if they are not “labelled” as people, as well as those who are offended by being “labelled”…. and those who are offended by not being “labelled”.
How can a BBC station host a ‘debate’ in this topic when, last I heard, the BBC had made great play of going all watertight oversight on the facts until they had all their ducks in a row?
This smacks of very cynical ‘news’ management, and hiring Hopkins for the turn the air blue corner does little to ease that suspicion.
Well I can tell you, but the Fascist left will never accept it despite it being true.
Under the BLiar oppression there was a moratorium on the Police prosecuting Muslims for all but the most serious of crimes’ or those which were unavoidable.
Where I live Muslims without any visible form of incomes were driving around in some of the most expensive cars on the market, such as Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Bentleys Hummers, etc etc. All the public knew what was going on and what the source of this money was, but despite loads of reports, the Police did nothing.
Until that is the Tories came to power, and the unofficial moratorium ended, the Police were free to make the arrests which they had plenty of evidence for and there were Muslims in the paper every day of the week for some pretty serious offences.
The prison population has shot up because Labour refused to prosecute Muslims, and that knowledge drew even more into what appeared a safe way to easy money.
Not that the BBC could even begin to countenance that truth.
It’s interesting how the BBC and Labour have spun the “ethnic minority unemployment” story. You could very easily write the same story like this; “Massive Surge in the Number of Immigrants claiming UK Benefits” but of course that wouldn’t be very left wing or sharia
complaint.
Spinning the story so it’s about rising “unemployment” makes us think of people who have been working and who want to work, but have now been tragically cast on the scrapheap due to government racism and economic incompetence. It makes us think of this sort of image.
But that’s not really what’s happening is it? What’s really happening is we’re seeing a massive growth in the Muslim, immigrant community, many of whom want to live off benefits because Islam says that infidels should subsidise them by paying jiyza. Jiyza tax is a reminder to infidels of their inferior status to muslims.
It’s a clever example of manipulating facts to mislead us.
yep!
she s thinking one child out, at least eight more to go
The other scroats around her? … his other 3 wives?.
arrogant, nauseating, and scroats into the bargain
Enoch Powell made his “Rivers of Blood” speech in Birmingham on April 20, 1968. and in it he warned:
“Now we aew seeing the growth of positve forces acting against integration, of vested interests in the preservation and sharpening of racial and religious differences, with a view to the exercise of actual domination, first over fellow immigrants and then over the rest of the population.”
Sounds familiar? Powell was excoriated over this speech and denounced as a racist. However, can he now be regarded as being prescient as regards the future development of this country? Yesterday we witnessed the nauseating eposode of the friends and relatives of the three Moslem schoolgirls, who ran off to Syria, attempting through their lawyer in the House of Commons to blame the police for the actions of the girls. Even Radio Five “gets much worse” Live did not attempt to comment on the episode during this morning’s Breakfast Show, even though it has in previous days attempted to portray the girls in a sympathetic light. Of more concern is the failure of the BBC to properly investigate Labour MP Sadiq Khan’s links to CAGE, even though he spoke in an event in Parlaiment hosted by that organisation in 2012. Whenever Khan has come on the Breakfast Programme, he has always been interviewed in a sympathetic manner by Nicky “Gameshow” Campbell.
The point I am coming to is that the main political parties are increasingly prepared to cede ground to minority and ethnic groups in our society at the expense of the majority of the population. As a result of the war in Syria/Iraq, the security situation in this country is under threat, particularly in view of the fact that defence spending has fallen during the course of this Parliament by 10%. The Coalition Government apparently envisaged a benign security environment for this decade, once combat operations ended in Afghanistan! Well you could have knocked me down with a feather! Neither the Labour nor the Liberal Democrats intend to keep to the 2% minimum of GDP as recommended by Nato, and the Prime Minister does not intend to keep to this figure after next April. The BBC is clearly not going to comment on this situation, as is the case with ITV and Sky, with the former only interested in the NHS, presumably because it is line with MR Ed’s campaign manifesto. While the NHS is important, so is our national security which is becoming ever more precarious, as witnessed by recent forays into our sovereign territory by Putin’s submarines and aircraft. The returning fighters from Syria represent a Trojan Horse within our country, which the politicians are happy to ignore, which of course was the attitude of the citizens of Troy. Powell was a classicist, who would have readily appreciated our current predicament, unlike our current politicians wh are happy to ignore the lessons of history. I am sure they would prefer to immerse themselves in the Cheltenham Frstival (four and a half hours coverage today on the BBC) and tonight’s Champions League match!
2011 RIOTS: Maybe you were told it was brought about by unbridled consumerism, or were fed the convenient deceit by politicians and the media that the disenfranchised poor of our nation were fighting the police and smashing up their neighbourhoods because they wanted a new pair of trainers. But this wasn’t the case. And now research published by the University of Oxford has suggested that the riots were actually linked to economic inequality and distrust of the police.
Martin Luther King said that when people feel they have no stake in society, they may unconsciously want to destroy it. Evidence now seems to substantiate this claim. Without that stake, without any status, the downtrodden poor lost their social inhibitions. They were no longer willing to take inequality and injustice lying down….
…for most, it wasn’t about consumerism either – I saw a girl steal a pint of milk for her mum because she said her family were too poor to buy food.
” It’s four years since rioting broke out across the UK”
Wrong, no riots in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Cumbria, Cornwall, places with no significant black population. In London, mobile phone, television and sports shops were robbed while the book stores were left untouched, seems they like Nike trainers and don’t read.
“when people feel they have no stake in society, they may unconsciously want to destroy it. ”
This of course only relates to black people and only relates to the following countries :-
Britain, America, Australia, all the countries of Africa, the parts of Europe where the weather is not too cold, plus any other country where true democracy is practiced.
Will Top Gear be Top Gear anymore? … no more Clarkson? etc.
Why? how? what to do? … What about the show?
ya da, ya da, ya da
Could always get a politically correct knob to front it?
frighten them sh-tless driving round Silverstone at 200mph
yep! Fops Tears,
Even get N “Panto” Campbell on so he could say “I came in as he left”
There is another possibility with the Clarkson imbroglio. If he is sacked he may well be in a position to go to another channel and do another motoring show; something he might not be able to do if he left of his own accord and was still contractually restrained by the terms of the Beeb’s purchase of the majority stake in Top Gear. It could be he just no longer wishes to put up with all the BBC PC nonsense any more and of tiptoeing around any and every person and body who might get offended by something.
It could prove to be very expensive for the Beeb; apart from the worldwide TV, what about all those live shows at £50+ per head? They’ve got four coming up in Norway, what will be the recompense for them and any others that are in the offing?
It will be very interesting to see how the BBC handle this. I agree with some other commentators here – the more people sign the petition, the better. It is as much an indication of dissatisfaction with the organization itself as it is with how they’ve treated him.
Have been monitoring change.org and their servers cannot cope with the load and has been crashing all afternoon.
Many of the comments on twitter are more about the BBC’s leftie tendencies and support for JC’s bucking the BBC. Many more are encouraging people not to pay the TV Licence.
This is terrible news, heartbreaking and should be front page
BBC? … still finding lots of airtime and column inches for this orchestrated crap though
Chelsea fans Paris Metro chants: Five men due in court http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-31838777
That is truly evil. If the perpetrators were not Muslims it would be the BBC headline. Maybe we should be offering support to the shia and Kurds to exterminate IS despite inevitable IS attacks within the UK.
If Clarkson punched the guy why weren’t the police brought in, as it was an assault on the inadequate staffer.
He could also sue for a good few thousand if he was hurt.
Sounds like it was just theatrical but they all screamed as one: Gotcha.
Funny how the sensible relatively decent Michael Grade turns from “former Chairman of the BBC”-after 7a.m news-to “Lord who sits on the Tory benches”-after 8 a,m news.
And all because he turned turtle on Mislah Huseins highlighter pen agenda to stuff Camerons face into a cushion that has Prescotts bottom imprinted into it.
Grade clearly wasn`t expected to have a principled and thought out rationale for the BBC demanding that Cameron attends their bonfires and coconut shy events.
Oh dear-Mishal wasn`t happy-neither were the Today editors and newsreaders either.
Well done Sir Michael!
I no longer trust him or care what comes out of his mouth.
After stating that he thought the licence fee should be decriminalised, when it came to the vote he voted to keep it, and it stayed by a 178 to 175. So it’s fair to assume that him and his cronies that made that happen. He claimed: ‘I would love to see the licence fee decriminalised, but there are risks in doing that.
‘There are risks the enemies of the BBC will see it as an opportunity to then move the compulsory element of the licence fee and move the BBC to a subscription model which would completely undermine the whole concept of public service broadcasting. I think there are dark forces at work.’
He’s calling the ‘dark forces’ those like us who know the corporation is a cancer on our society. The real dark forces are him and the BBC. I don’t trust ANY posture he takes.
OOps The BBC could be facing a multi million pond settlement bill with the countries who buy programs like Top Gear, and which now will not be receiving the number of programs they contracted for.
I some how doubt that in their haste to ‘get’ Clarkson the Fascists thought about the potential costs of doing so. Doesn’t matter to them anyway, they can always as millipede for a 10-50% increase in the licence fee (for services rendered) and they’ll likely get it.
“…Doesn’t matter to them anyway, they can always ask millipede for a 10-50% increase in the licence fee (for services rendered) and they’ll likely get it.”
They’re certainly making a heroic effort to win the favour of Special Ed, well ahead of the May election. The BBC has turned itself into New Labour’s Election Day Campaign Media HQ. No opportunity to flatter The Dear Leader, at the clear and unapologetic expense of his rivals, is allowed to slip past unremarked by the ever-vigilant proles manning the propaganda switch.
That famous BBC ‘impartiality’ appears to have done a complete runner – probably out of abject disgust at the way the Corporation is attempting to line up the pieces ahead of the election – or, as they would describe it: ‘getting it about right’.
They know that Ed knows that they know he’ll give the BBC’s nice little earner (that small matter of £3.5bn pa license fee) the nod; he might possibly even offer to increase it if they’re really nice to him and don’t ask too many difficult questions (if any at all).
As far as the BBC is concerned, Red Ed and his motley crew absolutely HAVE to win the next election – it’s an existential issue for the endangered, prehistoric Corporation; it long ago noticed a faint glow in the sky, slowly getting brighter every day as something massive and unstoppable hurtles towards it.
Quelle Catastrophe! France with Robert Peston – Friday BBC2 9pm
Common Purpose enthusiast Robert Peston ‘on what he sees as a potential economic and political disaster looming across the Channel….
Economic Cassandras have been warning for years about the country’s unsustainably lavish public spending. The rumbling unrest over spending cuts that has swept the continent is accompanied, in France, however, by the very plausible chance that the Front National leader Marine le Pen could be elected president in 2017, on a platform that promises withdrawal from the EU, renationalisation of major industries, protectionist tariffs and more.
“These are policies that we broadly associate with the 1930s and with, frankly, years of economic slump,” says Peston. “And I think most people would say they are very dangerous.” ‘
If you missed Living with the J-word don’t be surprised. It only received three days before its link was removed. Now it can be used to show the BBC really does address jew hatred, even if no one actually read it.
J-word = Jew. According to Michael Goldfarb being hated is part of being Jewish. It is not possible to know whether Goldberg was instructed to write the chosen BBC slant; chosen because the BBC knew what he was likely to produce or edited that way but as an indication he manages to write about modern antisemitism without once mentioning the I-word or the M-word.
How the left lies in which to promote the view that the British can only be racist, xenophobic and bigoted. Remember this headline from the bBC last year: Syrian refugees: Charities urge PM to allow more into UK Britain has made a “woefully inadequate” attempt to resettle Syrian refugees, charities have said. (Oxfam, Save the Children, Amnesty International, the Refugee Council and more than 25 other organisations )They say figures to be published on Thursday show only 100 Syrians have been given shelter in the UK. In a letter to Prime Minister David Cameron, charities and aid agencies have urged him to allow thousands more refugees to come to the country. Remember that
This evening the Guardian has revealed that the UN is going to turn a blind eye to the refugee protocol and simply dictate to Northern Europe that they have to take Syrian refugees. (I wonder why the bBC ins’t mentioning this.) UN plan to resettle Syrian refugees in northern Europe The UN has drawn up radical plans for an “orderly relocation” of thousands of Syrian refugees from southern Europe to richer countries in the north, and is pressing the EU to agree to a year-long pilot programme. The thing is the Guardian have a map of who has taken what refugees and it transpires that the UK has taken over 6600. France whom all the liberals loves has taken in 4800 ,Spain well they have taken in 2700 and Ireland well they took in 83. Hardly the few hundreds the left say the UK has taken in.. But it gets better DC stated that instead of taking in refugees we would offer money to help these people close to their homes , which is why the biggest donor of EU Aid is..the UK (UK aid as of Jan 15 £600 million, next highest Germany at £200 million the next is Sweden at £39 million. Yet having handed over twice as much as the rest of the EU combined , the UN is going to dump yet more Muslims onto the British Taxpayer.
Yet not only has the bBC not mentioned this, they don’t even correct the leftwing slurs which paint the UK as racist. In fact the greens (and they are hoping to become a minority partner in the next government) have this on their manifesto
People seeking asylum should not be prevented from reaching the UK by restrictions such as visas and fines on airlines.
No asylum-seeker should be held in detention other than in the most exceptional circumstances.
Every asylum-seeker should have the right to legal advice and representation, supported by legal aid, for asylum applications and appeals.
All individuals seeking asylum will be able to access free, quality legal advice, including throughout any possible stays in detention.
To provide integrated support for newly-arrived asylum seekers to include reception facilities, temporary housing, language training and assistance with asylum applications and in access to health and welfare services. This will be provided by voluntary agencies or local government but funded and coordinated at a national level.
Asylum seekers in the UK whose application for refugee status is rejected will not be deported to a country where they face ill-treatment or inhumane punishment. Normally, in this circumstance, they will be allowed to remain for humanitarian reasons. In exceptional circumstances, an alternative country will be sought.
The Green Party will oppose any person being left destitute after a failed asylum claim or if deemed to have not applied “appropriately”. Any person in the United Kingdom should be entitled to the basic necessities of life, including but not limited to food, shelter and medical care, by legal means, whether this be achieved through employment rights or public funds.
There will be no male staff employed in roles where they come into contact with women detainees at Yarl’s Wood Immigration Removal Centre.
Good comment
” ‘If all the world is my brother, then I have no brother.’ Pierre-Joseph Prudhon – This is a succinct statement of the impossibility of rational and meaningful moral action if our responsibilities are viewed as limitless.” Peter Brimelow “Alien Nation”.
Likewise, once the entire world, as potential immigrants, or migrants, or asylum seekers or refugees, is allowed to state “civis britannicus sum” (= “I am a British citizen”) then the word ‘British’ ceases to have any meaning other than as a crude category of international address.
I dont object to Foreigners born here and granted citizenship being able to describe themselves as British citizens, but I do object to their considering it to be their being called ‘Brits’ or ‘Britons’, that IMO describes ethnicity not legal nationality, it’s a denonym.
Cameron and/ or Farage should propose a Weekly £10 levy on all members of theGreen Party to help pay for asylum seekers. In addition any Green MPs constituency would have an asylum camp built there, paid for by the voters, as they voted them in they would not complain. Any overspill would be housed in Green Party members own houses. See how many votes they get then and how many Greens stay as members.
It’s no 2 story on Sky 22-00 news, talking to his grown up daughter about her father. It seem as though nasty things are starting to be uncovered at Lambeth Council, any interest by the beeboids ?
You nip out for a ching chong with Shiela and Jock. A degos by without reading the news. Now , I’m told Jezza is ‘suspended’! For slapping a Mick! Well yank my chain! Now, Jezza is a honkey who calls a spade a spade, and that’s why paki’s, wogs, chinks, honkeys, niggas, yids and every other fukka around the world loves him!
However the BBC slant this, (you’ve guessed it) they’re on a slippery slope!
The other day I wrote about how the bBC’s defence experts knew SFA when it came to the AH64-D as purchased by the Uk Lobbyists ‘delaying Apache contract’
Well Janes defence weekly have mentioned the story and here is what they have to say, funny enough its exactly what I stated: ANALYSIS
While AgustaWestland’s lobbying efforts have been described by some as an attempt at ‘gold plating’ its involvement on any future UK Apache programme, it should be noted that, while its participation in the original WAH-64D procurement did push up the unit cost, it also delivered to the British Army what was widely regarded to be a superior product to that fielded by the US and others.
As well as licence-building the airframes at its Yeovil plant in southern England, AgustaWestland also undertook enhancements that included swapping out the standard General Electric T700 engines for the more powerful Rolls-Royce RTM 322; improved countermeasures in the Helicopter Integrated Defensive Aids System (HIDAS); UK-specific communications systems; clearance of new weapon types; the integration of ballistically-protected external drop tanks; as well as a fully marinised airframe (an enhancement also adopted by the Netherlands), which included the fitting of flotation devices and other naval features.
When the UK’s Apache requirements were drawn up in the mid-1990s, no one could have foreseen their eventual use in Afghanistan and Libya but, as it turned out, these AgustaWestland improvements could almost have been tailor-made for both of these conflicts.
The new engines in particular vastly improved the Apache’s performance in the ‘hot and high’ conditions of Afghanistan, to the extent that the UK was able to fly its helicopters in that theatre with the mast-mounted radar still in place, whereas the US and others had to remove theirs due to weight and power constraints. For its involvement in Libya, the naval enhancements enabled the Apache to operate from the deck of the Royal Navy’s HMS Ocean helicopter carrier with little need for adaptations to be made first.
Another factor in the MoD’s decision to include AgustaWestland in its original Apache procurement was that of UK-certification of the airframes. This is a factor that is likely to become even more important with any future procurement, as evidenced by the problems surrounding the Royal Air Force’s RC-135W Rivet Joints, which were bought off-the-shelf from the United States.
For the MoD, however, the question must be whether in these trying fiscal times the increased costs that come with such AgustaWestland improvements can be justified for any future Apache procurement. Whatever the answer to that question happens to be, all sides will doubtless want to see the British Army equipped with the latest variant of arguably the world’s most advanced attack helicopter at the earliest opportunity.

Sir Michael Lyons? The ultimate public sector trougher.

The petition is here

BTW the comments people have left for reinstatement are well worth reading and strike a chord here.

No wonder he finally snapped!.

Because any Chinese stats are bovine excrement.

Somehow, it must be stopped.

You have never actually watched TopGear have you?
The climate IS changing. CO2 is NOT the driver.

And being far away from the cloying, suffocating self-censorship of the hateful Corporation can only be a good thing for him and for us, who like watching him.

Is it?

So long as they still have Sandi Toksvig and Jeremy Hardy, the BBC probably think they are doing something right.

Perhaps when that does happen, Clarkson could buy back the rights for a song.

guess what they did that with old top gear and it crashed and burned without Clarkson.

If the Beeb replace Clarkson, he or she will be viewed as a Zombie feasting on the corpse of Top Gear.

Therefore, draw a cross for UKIP in the box

I heard BBC R4 news reporting this morning Labour’s claim that the number of young people from ethnic minority backgrounds who have been unemployed for more than a year has risen by almost 50% since the coalition came to power. The implication being that the government is racist and somehow responsible for this.
What I didn’t hear the BBC report was this;
Pamela Geller, noted Islam critic, states bluntly why so many Muslims are living off British welfare:

The audience should be filled totally with members of the UAF
what do you all think? good idea ?

Why the big rise in Muslim prisoners?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-31794599

2011 RIOTS:
Maybe you were told it was brought about by unbridled consumerism, or were fed the convenient deceit by politicians and the media that the disenfranchised poor of our nation were fighting the police and smashing up their neighbourhoods because they wanted a new pair of trainers.
I was one of the London rioters. In 2011 we didn’t know how to express our anger
Now you know. It’s remarkable that the Beeb are not on the case…. yet.

After stating that he thought the licence fee should be decriminalised, when it came to the vote he voted to keep it, and it stayed by a 178 to 175. So it’s fair to assume that him and his cronies that made that happen. He claimed:
‘I would love to see the licence fee decriminalised, but there are risks in doing that.

Please read Mr. Goldfarb, Mr. Guy and Auntie BBC — Thriving with the J-word.

It also doesn’t mention the far left. It does however mention the far right and Christianity and how they are to blame.

How the left lies in which to promote the view that the British can only be racist, xenophobic and bigoted. Remember this headline from the bBC last year:
Syrian refugees: Charities urge PM to allow more into UK
Britain has made a “woefully inadequate” attempt to resettle Syrian refugees, charities have said.
(I wonder why the bBC ins’t mentioning this.)
UN plan to resettle Syrian refugees in northern Europe
The UN has drawn up radical plans for an “orderly relocation” of thousands of Syrian refugees from southern Europe to richer countries in the north, and is pressing the EU to agree to a year-long pilot programme.

If the asylum seekers are Christian, Jewish or non-religious then it might not be too much of a problem.

(It’s perhaps fortunate that INBBC doesn’t cover this, as it would be referring to mere ‘militant’ perpetrators, not Islamic jihadists.)

The other day I wrote about how the bBC’s defence experts knew SFA when it came to the AH64-D as purchased by the Uk
Lobbyists ‘delaying Apache contract’
Well Janes defence weekly have mentioned the story and here is what they have to say, funny enough its exactly what I stated:
ANALYSIS
