Well, the BBC did all they could to spin Corbyn’s “straight-talking” speech, didn’t they? I note they casually dismissed the fact that a section of it was written years ago for Neil Kinnoch. I note they overlooked he read out directional advice from the autocue. Straight-talking? Anyway, here’s a mid week open thread and the last one of this month!

Thursday 30th Sept. on way to Worcs so turned on R4 expected to listen to the given programme: Book of the Week, Reading Europe. Started off with German presenter talking about how he goes round the corner of his local bookshop. Soon became a programme about Syrian refugees at local schools and how Germans welcomed them.
Had to explain his own sympathy with migrants because going back five generations one half of his won family were migrants. Actually, if I read this correctly, one of his ancestors, prior to the 1870 unification of Germany, moved from one of the 17 states to another.
Higher up the current postings is the claim for reparations from West Indies for slavery. The last battle of the English Civil War took place in Worcester. Visiting the Commandery I learnt that following the Royalist defeat some 10, 000 captured prisoners including 3000 Scots had been sold in slavery to slave away in the West Indies. Sometimes it’s hard to know where the BBC ends and CBeebies begins. On the BBC weather web page there is a piece on fog in which the weathergirl (or should that be weatherperson?) informs us that fog is “tiny droplets of water in the air”
Well I stand corrected by this remarkable discovery, I’ve always thought it was something to do with my Audi diesel.

Oxford University has been ranked 2nd in the world, so how does the BBC report this? Not with an image of the dreaming spires, but an image of a Black guy in a library, probably nowhere near Oxford. This is despite the fact that according to Oxford University’s own figures for 2013 the percentage of Black students is just 1.1%.
This is blatant propagandising by the BBC – business as usual then !

TOTALLY SHOCKED
Last night BBC’s Panorama was on “Europe’s Border Crisis : The Long Road” presented by John Sweeney.
Any reasonably-minded 12-year-old could critique and criticise this programme as a piece of journalism. However I’m not going to list all the mouth-dropping stuff here. The reason is because of one particular part of the programme which shocked my wife and I more than any other.
John Sweeney comes across a 4-year-old boy called Azam, and this takes precedence over all else for us. Sweeney encounters the boy in southern Macedonia, where he’s travelling with a group of 13 men. One of the men (very unconvincingly and not the one who’s carrying him) claims to be Azam’s father. I’m not a professionally-trained BBC journalist, but my ‘B-S’ antenna pricked up in an instant.
Poor little Azam has significant facial injuries and Sweeney asks the man how the boy got his injuries and generally what happened. The man carrying Azam says the boy was run over by a taxi while he was sleeping, earlier during their journey through Macedonia. He said that he was seen by Macedonian doctors and and that he just needs stitches.
Given the state of the boy, we immediately wondered why Sweeney didn’t ask why the Macedonian doctors hadn’t done the stitches immediately if he needed them. He could also have asked how the boy had been neglected in such a way as to allow him to have been run over while sleeping.
The scene then moves on, further north and some time later (maybe the next day?) to Belgrade Bus Station. Says Sweeney : “We come across Azam again. Clearly in pain, and his wounds now look infected. He’s being examined by a Macedonian doctor.” It turns out that Azam’s jaw is broken.
To cut a long story short, Sweeney finds out from the boy that the ‘father’, who is not with the boy as he’s being examined, is not in fact his father. Azam is alone with the doctor and a nurse in a small open air health facility.
When the man finally turns up again, he doesn’t want to allow the boy to go in an ambulance which is provided and which the doctor says is necessary. The man arrives, and Sweeney tells us that he “isn’t keen for Azam to be taken to hospital, he would rather press on to northern Europe”.
In the end, the man gets into the ambulance with the little boy. Some time later, Sweeney finds out that they disappeared from the hospital before the doctors could treat Azam.
However it seems that Sweeney might have felt like the migrant does – he would “rather press on to northern Europe”. The programme moves on and we hear nothing further about little Azam, with his broken jaw, travelling with 13 men, none of whom is even his father.
Now, call me old-fashioned, but the first thing I would have done after the first meeting with Azam would have been to seek out the nearest policeman. The whole thing was too suspicious for words.
Even if that hadn’t been possible, I would instantly have done this at the Belgrade Bus Station on finding him again. I’m absolutely certain that the deeply-troubled Macedonian doctor would have agreed and would have spoken up.
I would urge you to watch this programme on catch-up – for many reasons not just this one – and decide for yourself if you feel that Azam was effectively an abused child, in pain, being used by unknown men to further their chances of being allowed through borders. I would also ask what you think of a professional BBC journalist taking no apparent action with the authorities, given what he witnessed.
Clearly I’m not a journalist, I have no access to extra information, I’m just going on what we watched. If John Sweeney did not involve the police, why not? This little boy’s situation transcends the migrant crisis and was more important than the rest of the incredible stuff we heard and saw in the rest of the programme.
If it turns out that Sweeney in fact did his humanitarian duty, then I will of course withdraw this post unreservedly.

Active Citizen – I didn’t see the programme, so can’t really comment – but I think this warrants a complaint to the BBC. I’m not sure on what grounds, but at least to ask what ‘duty of care’, if any, a BBC employee has when in a situation like this. There probably is none – they are probably no more expected to intervene than a wildlife reporter – but it would at least show that not everyone accepts this laissez-faire style of reporting.

Azam serves the purpose of his ‘father’, Sweeney and the BBC, what’s not to like?

I saw that and yes, my b/s detector went off. Run over by a taxi while sleeping? A child that size would be more likely dead. These didn’t strike me as the sort of injuries you might get from that, but perhaps those more in the know will correct me.
Yes, the correct course of action would have been to get the police involved, but perhaps they had too many problems with the invaders to see to another one.

Wasn`t Sweeney the scummer who slipped into North Korea under the cover of his wifes “Student Trip” from the LSE or such.
A man who seriously put the lives of loads of youngsters at risk of jail or worse-just so he could get a few snippets of Pyongyang on his mobile, before having to spend hours in the old archive footage to pretend that he was portraying “cutting edge North Korea” -when he didn`t get off his fat arse and check anything for himself.
Just used kids for cover…very Savilesque. Very BBC.
And how typical that the shameless BBC use this serial fake for their “Panoramas”…what a shower of phone it in phonies.
Sweeney probably ate the next seasons harvest of leaf mould at his first visit to the buffet-and we pay this fat buffoon.

I watched the Russian foreign minister on SKY. He summed up Russian intentions beautifully. I paraphrase, but he said something like,
“if it looks like a terrorist, acts like a terrorist, behaves like a terrorist, is armed like a terrorist and kills like a terrorist, its a terrorist and is our target.”
That is absolutely spot on. America has been funding and arming so-called opposition groups in Syria. People who have given their weapons to Al Qaeda and Al Nusra. Barry Obama is helping Al Qaeda by proxy. He is assisting Islamic terrorism. Thank God that Putin has some Balls. Had we intervened and removed Assad two years ago, vile and evil though he may be, we would have put in place weak Islamic “friends” who would have been slaughtered by ISIS and we would now have ISIS in power in Damascus with Assad’s full array of chemical weapons at their disposal, on the border with Israel.
Think about that and be damned grateful that Cameron and Obama failed to get that war started. We should have propped up Assad. At least he is secular and protected Christians.
Putin got Assad to disarm without a shot fired, and now he is propping him up. Assad is a vile dictator, but in that part of the world, the only real choice is between having secular, pro-western dictators keeping order, or having evil Islamic enemies creating chaos.
Putin has made Obama look very weak at best, or an apologist for Islamic terrorism at worst.

Assad is is brutal but compared with Isis I know who I’d be supporting if I was Jewish or Christian (which there are comparatively many in Syria).
Remember a few years back William Haig wanted to arm what is now ISIS in Syria? With the BBC constantly carrying the flag for what they called “rebels” as part of the, ahem, “Arab Spring” till it became evident that they were medieval fanatics. Anyone remember one of their leaders eating the heart of a Syrian soldier? That support from the beeb seems to be brushed under the carpet.
Our interventions in the M.E. haven’t be very clued up or joined up. Maybe the Russians might do better. Anyone who helps in destroying ISIS is a friend.

TWatO today (just now):
Green Party lunatic spills the beans on what’s really behind the diesel ‘scare’ – wants a scrappage scheme introduced whereby the car makers are ‘made to pay’ for owners of diesel vehicles to switch to electric vehicles. She makes the claim, quite clearly, that ‘50,000 people are year in the UK are killed by diesel pollution’. BBC, of course, asks for no evidence, no verification of such a claim. Throughout, Green Party maniac keeps repeating ‘CAR MAKERS SHOULD BE MADE TO PAY!’.
So, it’s all just a scam to bully car owners into being forced to switch to electric. At least that’s now out in the open.
Agenda 21 at work. Busy, busy, busy!

My brother in law has a Nissan leaf & a diesel A8 Audi. When he visits my father in law he has to use the Audi as the electric car can’t do it on one charge.

Now, you see, I have an entirely different take on this. I think diesel cars are an abomination and that someone should definitely be made to pay. I’d suggest the following: Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth, The last Labour Government and the EU. Oh, and the BBC, for its part in advocating the incentivisation of people to buy the filthy things in the first place.
Sorry about the irony, but VW et al were only obeying orders…

Not for the first time you have displayed a hate for diesel cars, why? Are you buying the greenie ‘scare’ ?
Figures for deaths from Nox pollution are just plucked from the air and completely impossible to prove.
Most posting here are probably over 40 and have suffered far worse pollution in our younger years (+passive smoking) yet are still here to tell the tale, pollution from diesel cars is extremely minimal compared to that from lorries, busses and vans.
No way without a fight am I going to give up my diesel car that returns 55+mpg and is no slouch for some poxy small engined far east or European petrol ‘box’, or worse electric (how are we going to generate all the electric for these cars?)
The green nazis have f’d up our power generation, they are now after our diesel cars, whats next ?

I am about as opposed to the fantasists in the Green movement as it is possible to get. I am not, however, blind to the facts. This whole issue has come to light because diesels pollute and to get round this fact one of the world’s largest car manufacturers felt it was forced to lie about emissions. Diesel owners getting a better set of MPG figures than they would from petrol engined cars is a small recompense for the photo-chemical crud that passes for air in our major cities.

Sorry, Gents, you are missing an essential point. The VW Group vehicles, when tested, were running lean & mean. Out on the road they were not as clean and economical as they could be made to be. That would have been somewhere between those two extremes.
We may have all lost out, not just driving a VW and breathing in the grunge but maybe also in mini-bus and bus travel. Goods delivered to us via white or coloured van man or by truck MAY also have cost us more than necessary. It MAY have even had an effect on the pricing of letters & parcels travelling in those red vans and trucks which used to belong totally to you and me but have since had the hub caps pinched and the wheels & tyres and back axle sold by HMG by way of privatisation.
Those deriving benefit apart from VW Group companies, will be our Government with extra, unnecessary tax receipts and the Oil Companies and associated businesses who had us buying and paying for far more diesel fuel than necessary.
If ALL diesel engines have been affected in some way, especially going way back, then this is very serious. The history of taxation is littered with examples where indirect taxes had unintended consequences and had to be abandoned. This may be another. I can also see the lawyers getting rich on this unless Governments around the world hold up their hands quickly, say “Sorry” and grovel while dishing out compensation to us … from our own money! Our Government, with the help of the Greens & other environmentalists, set up the limits and the testing regimes. They – not the taxpayer – were responsible for where the testers were not competent in the work they were doing for several years. This has echoes of the various banking & financial scandals of recent years and may be almost as big.
Could be a good time to make sure the larder is well stocked.

Up2snuff,
“Out on the road they were not as clean and economical as they could be made to be”
I’m sorry to say that you’ve got your argument slightly twisted. The clue is in Dave666’s post at 4.50pm:
“The major problem with diesels is they are now also saddled with power sapping emission burdens.”
Controlling the emissions of nitrous oxide and particulates takes power, so during the test cycle the VW engines were using more fuel so that they could meet the anti-pollution standards. Outside the test cycle VW wanted their engines to be as fuel efficient as possible (with lower CO2 levels), so they reduced the power they were diverting to reduce other emissions. The changes that VW will now have to make to their engine mapping will increase fuel consumption and CO2 output. The politicians gave car manufacturers conflicting priorities and ignored the evidence that the manufacturers were coming up with “creative solutions”. VW made the wrong call.
Of course in the UK our green solution to any power shortage in the national grid is a large number of small scale diesel generators. What’s not to like about that?
Not sure how you make that work with the science, RJ. “Controlling the emissions of nitrous oxide and particulates takes power” doesn’t work as far as I can see with the physics. More power requires more fuel which would produce more emissions. The VW cars were NOT FAILING the EPA tests, they were passing them in the EPA environment because they were using LESS fuel, creating LOWER emissions that met the EPA requirements.
As I understand it, it’s simple: you put calories in, you get energy + by-products out. The catalytic converter, ie. a slightly more restrictive exhaust will have its effect as well, both reducing power but also cutting some of the emissions, notionally the most harmful ones. But the catalytic converter is not a factor in the difference between the EPA test & real world use as it is in place for both.
After-market changes are well known, since car engines became computer controlled. BBC Radio 4 covered them in some programmes around the time of the recession in 2008/09, visiting a business – I think – in West London that catered for customers who wanted their engines re-mapped. Usually the custom was probably from the local ‘boy-racers’ who wanted maximum power with no thought for the expense of fuel consumption. But because the oil price had reached an all time high and was looking like it would climb further, the business was getting more people coming in and asking for fuel efficiency to be enhanced.
I think you have everything round the wrong way in your penultimate paragraph.

The major problem with diesels is they are now also saddled with power sapping emission burdens. The most evil being this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diesel_particulate_filter . A piece of equipment that will need to be replaced at vast cost. If you re thinking about buying a new diesel read up about these. A friend of mine had major problems at the dealers buying a new car as he wanted petrol to avoid particle filters on his new vehicle. I do ask myself when after all these years of driving relatively “dirty” engines all of a sudden it’s a burning issue, with the majority of vehicles having newer generation engines. http://www.fleetnews.co.uk/news/2012/1/9/problems-with-diesel-particulate-filters-may-push-companies-towards-petrol/42044/

That’s my argument, the greenies have made what is essentially a green, simple and long lasting machine into an unnecessary and over complicated white elephant.
I have no intention of replacing my relatively simple 12 year old 100k Audi turbo diesel, high high MPG, and long lasting what could be greener? Modern diesels and even petrol cars will not last as long through their over reliance on electronics, complexities and repair costs.
Is it green to scrap a car at 8 years? Looking at it sensibly all VW (and I’m sure many others will follow) have fallen foul of are unreasonable and oppressive emissions rules.
I realise you don’t want to get rid of your car but, really, there is nothing ‘Green’ about a diesel. That’s the line the hippies peddled to get governments to incentivise people to buy them in the first place. As usual, the hippies were A/ wrong and B/ lying.

Been a good year though for the Brave New World of Anti-Science.
Climategate at the UEA in 2009 was the first serious breach of any pretence at Big Psi being anything other that Green Nazi slurry.
But this year we`ve had the diesel weasels turning turtle on their own oligeneous self-regard…handbrake turns-but let`s not look TOO hard at the quack science and bribes offered by LABOUR under Brown to force us all to go diesel.
We`ve also had the e-cigs volte-face…on the Saturday they were banned and hated for condoning cigarette smoking….and then NHS England wanted us all on them by the Monday…and all those health fascists slipped away and over the border into Wales for a while.
THAT is the level of Himmler-lite science we now get from the BBC and NIHCE…oh wait, they`ve removed that word “health” from their acronym ,seeing it`s one letter too many for dyslexics at the eye chart.
Well remember Ed Balls removing the word “Education” from HIS new logo when he turned our schools into Sharon Shoesmiths slippers…but, yet again-no BBC history about the denuding of words like “education” and “health”-lest we find that they have removed the words from lexicons and any responsible scrutiny.
Very 1984-very Labour-and the BBC purr on….

Sorry GC, that is just not correct. Please see my reply to RJ above. Energy in = power + products. You cannot escape that science. For the equivalent calories, diesel is ‘greener’, otherwise petrol would produce more miles per litre. You may dislike them (as I do, actually, especially when running filthy) but they are more ‘efficient’ and hence greener.
If you just want to look at emissions, contact the Road Transport Research Laboratory and ask them to direct you to papers on petrol & diesel engines. I would post a link to one but have just had a quick look and cannot find it. Will add it sometime, if I can.

You are defining ‘Green’ in the narrow terms of which produces more energy per given quantity. If both fuels produced similar quantities of dangerous emissions that would be fair enough but they don’t. That is exactly how we got into this mess in the first place – the Green lobby didn’t take account of emissions and lied about the danger of them because their obsession was with CO2. Read Lewis Page’s article that I linked to for further discussion.

You are right to ask Geoff, no it is not. If the car is passing the MoT then around 14 years, IIRC, is the optimum point in total or overall energy use terms.
But another point is being missed. How can I put this delicately, here? The Greens do not like oil companies, car companies and everything associated with them including the total economies they support, I think not just for what they might do to the environment but for other motives.
They are pushing forward constantly with increasing restrictions because they want to break existing economic systems.
If they had been really concerned for the environment, for the stewardship of scarce resources, for the greatest well-being of everyone they would have been seeking very different solutions. ‘Tax and restrict’ often tends towards inefficiencies & greater harm. This VW thing is a perfect example of that. I can list many others.

Dave, I can suggest an overall economic scenario. The whole Green anti-internal combustion thing, in fact everything they push for, is claimed to be beneficial even as far as national economies are concerned.
That is obviously not so as you start to look at specific impacts. For example, the Greens trumpet “Make the polluter pay” and call for taxes and other restrictions on car use. But then you look at a specific micro-economic impact, the care of elderly in their homes which arrives in the majority of cases by car and see the economic effect of their desired policies. It is unfavourable.
With the fall in the oil price, we have an opportunity to see in practice, the effect of falling transport costs on the UK economy together with the benefits of zero inflation. This is the opposite of the effect of the Green policies which will now be seen to have been harmful.
The lower the oil price goes, the longer a period of zero inflation extends, the more the economy improves, the harder it will be for the Greens to still look good if they threaten to mess up all those economic benefits with more of their ‘tax & restrict’ policies.

Essexman, battery technology is changing. We will discover ways around that. But you have a point because operating life, weight, portability and total fuel efficiency has to be considered. Equal progress in research could improve the efficiency of liquid fuel engines. We now have individual cylinder control at standstill, for example, so similar advances could be available in the future.
The problem is that we have slapped a lot of tax (far too much) on road fuels. There is now no Governmental incentive to increase the fuel efficiency of road vehicles; in fact, the opposite applies. Not only that, the tax take from transport helps to subsidise lower rates of income tax, particularly for the higher earners. That will be difficult for the current and future Chancellors to reverse.

Quite right, Essexman. One has to wonder what is the overall ‘carbon footprint’ of the average electric car battery – how about all those rare metals? How can anyone (let alone an eco-zealot) possibly argue that electric cars are in any way ‘green’? It’s the same duplicitous misdirection when we look at the production of wind turbines and photovoltaic panels.
My main point remains – it’s fairly obvious that the Greens are attempting to subvert VW’s cynical ‘gaming’ of the meaningless ’emissions’ output targets (and who could blame them when in reality such ‘targets’ do actually mean nothing at all?) to try and force people into exchanging their perfectly good diesel cars for completely useless, expensive and unreliable electric cars.
Also, I’m still waiting for the Green Party to back up their hysterical claim (made on BBC national Radio and left entirely unchallenged by the BBC) that ‘50,000 a year in the UK die’ as a direct result of diesel pollutants from cars.

If you go to some of the back streets of Manchester, you can still find old buildings which have not been cleaned up, and are literally black with soot. I confess that I do not like diesel engines, but the pollution they cause can only be a small fraction of what people had to endure when coal fires made the air black. If diesels kill as many as the ecoloons claim, then I cannot see how anyone could have survived breathing the air back then. Did I mention that people smoked too?

“Germany’s population is ageing fast and the government’s hope is that the new arrivals can fill a desperate skills gap.
Of course, as many here point out, that all relies on successful integration, which takes time.
And, with no real long-term solution to the refugee crisis in sight, concern over the feasibility of Germany’s position will only continue to grow. ”

Yet more evidence of Britains dodgy relationship with Saudi Arabia has emerged today on page 2 of the times.
In the wake of Corbyn singling out Saudi’s human rights record, his stance on selling them equipment used to oppress the populace, and against the proposed murder of Ali Mohammed Al Nimr by Beheading & crucifixion.
You wouldn’t know it from the British media, but when I wrote here what a sick joke it was that Saudi was head of the UN Human rights council, there was outrage all over the world. – wonder why the BBC neglected to cover it, Skys reasons are obvious.
It would appear from WikiLeaks that the Tories had some kind of ‘backroom chat’ with the Saudis to facilitate their having enough votes to secure the position. Reprieve has said that it appears that not only has the UK been ignoring the Saudi Human rights issues, but have participated in deals to whitewash the Saudi record on Human Rights.
There is no mention of what the UK stood to gain from these deals, although I think that’s obvious.
For there are non so blind as those who WILL not see, you asked for better evidence, well here it is! The smoking gun of King Salman handing Saudi Rials to a supplicant David Cameron as the words press suddenly bursts in is never going to happen. Even if it did there are those so wilfully blind they still wouldn’t believe it.
The evidence mounts, and it all points in one direction! Like it or not Western governments and their leaders are corrupt and have been bought by oil rich Sunni Muslim potentates, it’s also the only way the seemingly inexplicable decisions made by Western leaders can be rationalised.

It’s obvious that the BBC is left wing. Just look at who attacks the BBC and who defends the BBC. Is it really a credible argument that lefties, who hate freedom of speech and opinion and want to ban ideas they disagree with, would actually defend a right wing BBC? If the BBC were right wing, it would have been shut down when labour were in power for 13 years. The only way Murdoch survived the labour Government years, was because he openly supported Blair, Mandelson, Campbell et al whilst they were in power.
I will take no rubbish from anyone claiming that the BBC is anything other than blatantly left wing.
In fact I think that Corbyn and McDonnell running labour suits the BBC, because it allows the BBC to place themselves slightly to the right of Corbyn, to appear impartial, whilst remaining firmly and unambiguously left wing themselves.

I agree completely. The BBC’s defenders prove the case against it.

Saw a clip of some so-called LSE “Academic”-i.e a perpetual student tatooed, thick and dreadful hennaed hair.
She said she was an “economic migrant from the Midlands”…as she associated herself with those brave rebels who attacked the ricicles and rice krispies in Brick Lane the other night.
Newsnight let her get away with this fatuous Occupy Russeel Brand schtick.
Reminded me of Clare Solomon who was on Newsnight in 2010 to justify throwing fire extinguishers down below onto policemen..and trying to storm buildings in The City of London-including(need I add ?) Tory HQ.
What the hell are we paying these granny bandits into Universities to play at being researchers…utterly thick Pilgrims sponging off us all in the social science wastelands of the mind…but goes down well in Social Work, the Guardian and the BBC.

What a contrast with Cameron and Obama. This is a man who can face reality and speak intelligently about what faces us in the ideology of Isis and how it could erupt into our world.
He talks of national interest and means Russia and that is what he is there to protect. The country of his birth- Russia.
Just compare the mytherings of Cameron who deposed Gaddafi because he thought it would look good on his CV.
I hope Russia takes on the role that maybe it is destined for that is the protector of the Christian West and the conservative way of life. We have nobody of our own in Western Europe now.

Did anyone else hear the Justin Webb piece on The Today programme this morning? He was interviewing a black American father whose son had been shot by a white chap. I don’t think we ever discovered why this had happened, but anyway. The dad was over here promoting a book that claimed that white on black violent crime in the states is approaching epidemic levels. I very nearly choked on my cornflakes. Justin lived in the US for yonks (he was the BBC correspondent) so he must know that this is complete bollocks. Indeed the merest squint at the official stats suggests that in any given year there are nigh on half a million black on white assaults compared to one tenth the other way round. Sexual assaults by black males on white women are astronomical whereas white on black sexual assaults are almost non existent.
Did the intrepid and erudite BBC journalist mention any of this?
Nope!

Of course Webb didn’t. Telling these statistical truths would make him a racist, apparently.

This morning between 9am and 10am I saw a video on the BBC attributed to Syrian rebels showing the effects of the Russian air strikes. I have searched for that video since and it is nowhere to be found. It showed severely damaged buildings and survivors with brightly coloured T shirts running around, and a lingering shot of someone wrapped in sheets being bundled into a van or ambulance. Was this a BBC special, just to show how brutal the Russian are?

Apologies if this has already been discussed and I missed it, but I watched coverage of the UKIP conference on the BBC Parliament channel and without wishing to sound paranoid, it seemed to be deliberately sabotaged. I appreciate that UKIP are not a polished organisation, but so often the speaker for instance would show a video which we didn’t see or there was no sound. Or the shot would be from the side, and not showing what was happening. One of the best speakers was William Dartmouth with many interesting facts about trade, presented with the constant refrain; And that’s not something you’ll hear on the BBC. And it wasn’t either.

I am sure you are right. This is what I hastily wrote on this blog on 25 Sept:
” The Electoral Commission must now hold an enquiry into the BBC’s coverage of the UKIP Conference, in particular into the poor sound and especially the poor video quality of the BBC pictures. Regarding the sound, the decibel level of the speakers was much lower than that of the music in the opening ‘gear-wheel’ BBC intro. Low decibels for unfavoured speakers in, of course, an old trick on Radio 4, but it has been surprisingly blatant at the UKIP conference. Far worse, however, was the quality of the picture, which would have been embarrassing in the 1950s, let alone in the 2010s. All the videos of the speakers were unfocused / fuzzy focused and long-distance. Farage was occasionally shown in profile in clear sharp focus, showing that the BBC can produce film of adequate quality if they are so minded, but profile clips were few and brief – then it was back to the distant, out-of-focus video. It is an appalling scandal that really must be investigated. The BBC has yet again shown their extreme bias – any trick in the book is fine as far as they are concerned to lessen the impact of great speeches by many speakers, including Paul Nuttall’s closing speech on Friday. (I speak as a non-member of their party, by the way). If the video quality is good and sharp at Labour Party and Conservative Party Conferences, that will be irrefutable proof of BBC bias.”
I note that the BBC added another unexpected twist on the afternoon of the final day (I didn’t watch in the morning), the BBC had a single absolutely stationary camera on the platform speakers, so that between speakers all we saw was a prolonged view of the tops of two microphones. No views of the speakers leaving the platform, no views of applauding audience, etc., which we got (in sharp focus and brilliantly lit) at the Labour Conference. Much more could be said. It is essential that a proper enquiry is made into the scandalous treatment of the UKIP Conference by the BBC. Deliberate sabotage – yes.
PS. I copied my comment to UKIP HQ urging them to consider a formal request to the E.C. to investigate the BBC coverage.

The BBC now have to go extreme against UKIP. Why? Well, since labour have resorted to internal civil war and have utterly renounced their role as an opposition, proving themselves to be utterly incapable of any form of rational, reasoned, responsible opposition to the tories…. UKIP look like the one and only rational, reasoned and responsible alternative to the tories.
Considering what labour now claim is the “new politics” which utterly rejects the dishonesty of spin, this means that the BBC now has to spin this unmanaged, chaotic, undisciplined, incompetent disunited labour rabble as “new politics” and “mature grown up debate” and make UKIP look as bad as possible, to defend the BBC’s political arm.

I noticed that the UKIP camera/picture quality wasn’t anything like the Labour and Tory conferences, it reminded me of a dodgy wedding production and in turn made UKIP look like a dodgy party. What the HaBeeb wanted no doubt.

I suppose it was remarkable, in a way. I’m talking about Anita Rani on Who Do You Think You Are? They tried their hardest but the muslims didn’t come out of this very well despite a bit of revisionism towards the end. Anita’s ancestors were slaughtered in the aftermath of partition. She cries a lot. She doesn’t seem to get it either. There’s tale after tale of muslim atrocity but being a beeboid she blames the wrong people. For her, it’s about feminism not religious conflict. After hearing a story about Sikhs executing their daughters, she blames the Sikh men not the muslims attempting to burn down the village, demanding the women and girls. They would have survived if a) the muslims hadn’t arrived b) they hadn’t attempted to burn down the village and c) hadn’t demanded the women of the village. This seems to go over her head. She doesn’t understand that the fathers of their daughters would prefer to see them killed rather than be defiled by muslims. Surely, as a feminist, she should also applaud the women’s decisions to throw themselves down a well. Guess what Anita, they didn’t want to be brutalised by muslims either and saw death as preferable. Later, an Indian talking head says it was cross community violence. Except, all the incidents mentioned were either muslim on Hindu or muslim on Sikh. As I said, remarkable. Strange how the bBBC can mention this sort of thing in a historical context but can ignore similar brutal behaviour in our own country by the very descendents of these people involved in this 70 years ago!
As an aside, I was really good mates with a Pakistani lad during my college years and his dad came from the Punjab, that is Lahore on the Pakistani side. I asked him about it and he said his dad killed someone during partition. “He was a Sikh, I think” he said. He later drove a taxi in my home town.

Reports of another school shooting, in Umpqua Roseburg Oregon, however it is beginning to show hallmarks of yet another Islamic atrocity.
It would appear that the gunman asked victims to stand and state their religion, before shooting dead any non Muslims.

Of course the BBC reports non of this, but predictably goes on it’s usual rant about gun control and there’s even a mention of mental illness !
I do wonder how they will spin this latest atrocity if it does turn out to be a Muslim perpetrator, my guess is that they’ll try to ignore it altogether, and not report it.

I know many of you are unable to indulge yourselves in the joy that is BBCWales radio news every morning. Just to sate some of your needs let me say they had an item on the unmitigated advancement for humankind that is the Swansea Tidal Lagoon.
For the non-scientists amongst you the theory behind the lagoon is that we move tax payers money into the wallets of foreign investors. This is accomplished by paying more for the electricity than its actual value and way more than any other subsidised piece of nonsense such as wind farms or solar panels. As no sane business would involve itself in such nonsense the tax payer funds its construction and subsidises its running. I hope you followed the science behind it.
The dafter elements of Swansea Council agreed to the project in June 2015. Now, less than three months later, it has been announced it is to be delayed by a year. Now, I know what you are asking: what on earth can be uncovered to delay a project by so long just a few months after a thorough examination agreed it was absolutely spiffing.
So then, who should BBC Wales line up to examine the problems? The Business correspondent… the political correspondent … the science correspondent …an engineering correspondent …. erm no, irrationally, the environmental correspondent Iolo ap Dafydd.
Oh, just in case you aren’t already shedding tears let me say that the cost of the project has already doubled to £1 bn and as yet not a spade has been used in anger.
Oddly the report did not enlighten me on jot.

Christopher Booker has written quite a bit on this ‘renewable energy’ con….
There have been yet more twists to the tale of the reckless haste with which the Government is determined to rush through the Swansea Tidal Lagoon project: the £1 billion scheme to enclose Swansea Bay in stone from a disused Cornish quarry, to produce a tiny amount of the most expensive electricity in the world….
Carefully side-stepped was the pitiful amount of electricity the scheme will produce, averaging a mere 57 megawatts (just 4 per cent of what can be supplied by a £1 billion gas-fired power station along the coast); as was the developers’ insistence that their scheme is only viable if they are given a 240 per cent subsidy for what little it produces.
A letter from the Planning Inspectorate announcing the decision did mention the many environmental objections raised, such as that it will kill seals and porpoises, harm seabirds and deny access by salmon and eels to rivers where they breed. But Rudd brushed these aside, on the grounds that, thanks to the “national need” for renewable electricity, such “adverse local impacts do not outweigh the benefits of the scheme”.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/11673376/More-twists-to-the-insane-1bn-Swansea-scheme.html
Also
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-3041005/CHRISTOPHER-BOOKER-1-billion-lagoon-Britain-s-pottiest-green-scheme.html
However, when one looks carefully at the figures used to support this wave of euphoria, some rather large and troubling doubts begin to emerge.
For a start, the immense capital cost means that TLP is asking the Government to agree to it being given a uniquely high subsidy.
The project will only work, it says, if the power produced can be sold to the National Grid at the so-called ‘strike price’ of a staggering £168 per megawatt hour.
This is well over three times the wholesale price of unsubsidised electricity from coal or gas-fired power stations.
It is even more costly than the £155 per megawatt hour given to the hugely subsidised offshore wind farms the Government is erecting round our coasts. Even more than the £92.50 offered to the proposed nuclear power station at Hinkley Point in Somerset.

So, according the BBC (serious faces all round) everybody’s ‘concerned’ at Putin’s interventions in Syria against anti-Assad forces. Personally, I couldn’t be happier. Bring it on, I say – let’s have more, far more, including a full-scale Russian occupation until such time as every trace of Islamic State filth has been extinguished across Syria, Iraq and beyond.
I applaud Putin for finally getting on with the job. Now he just has to expand the operation, take no prisoners, and cleanse the region of Islamic State. Time to punch back at those savages.
Also, who exactly are these anti-Assad ‘rebels’ that everyone (mostly the BBC) seems so concerned about all of a sudden? I’ve heard them described as ‘moderates’? Putin calls them terrorists – I wonder who could be right? Are they anything like our ‘Saudi allies’?

Russia is a nation state and that is reason enough for the BBC/liberal left to fear it. On everything you care to name Russia is opposed to the liberal agenda. The BBC is out of touch yet again .Putin has much more support in Britain than it realises.
Watch and wait for the liberal attempts to discredit and ignore him. It won’t work now as on so many things reality is coming to the liberal world and they are not going to like it one little bit.

I haven’t found anyone who is opposed to what Putin is doing. Everyone I have spoken to about it thinks it is about time someone attacked America’s trained poodle terrorists. There is no other way to describe the situation but to state that Russia is doing America’s job in killing Al Qaeda terrorists in Syria.
There is no credibility whatsoever in establishment claims that there is a good set of Islamic radicals and a bad set of Islamic radicals and we are helping the good radicals. Putin is right. The west has been creating this terrorist threat, funding it, arming it and then when these terrorists have done what we initially pay them to do, they always go rogue and become a problem. Putin is right to kill them.

On the Today Programme it was said that the gunman “had professed a hatred for all organised religion”. Perhaps that’s what it was, rather than a Muslim targetting other religions. The point is that I simply do not trust the BBC when it tells me this, as they have a track record of attempting to minimise the involvement of the Religion of Peace.

Best to hold on for a while until information arrives on the shooting. Rumours at present link him with Nazi’s, with the Black Lives Matter, etc. The BBC will lie, that is for certain. Obama will use it to attack the Second Amendment, but worth noting that there was only one unarmed security person at the school, and that the community had decided it should be gun free.
We can be sure that a massive, highly financed organization like the BBC, will fail to carry out an unbiased investigation. That is a certainty.

Good point Flexdream, you would think it was obvious wouldn’t you? A coward and a bully will only target the weak and those that cannot defend themselves or retaliate.
Which brings me on to the newly elected socialist dumb wit so called leader, let’s ask Chardonnay and Damian from Bradford what they think before I make a decision, Corbyn. Mr Corbyn says, “lets scrap our nuclear defence capability, it’s no longer needed and it didn’t help on 9/11 2001 or 7/7 2005”.
Corbyn has as much common sense as a Cameron’s private parts, and that’s not very much apparently. Yet the BBC are treading very softly with him, (Corbyn) and this is the man that would leave us defenceless against any old Kim Jong, Vladimir and those Islamic friends of Hussain (I’m not a Muslim and I only help the good terrorists in Syria and by the way, yes I do have a Birth Certificate, somewhere!) Obama.
We are apparently led by cringing appeasers, those with bestial tendencies and a tax funded media organisation that has escaped proven corporate paedophilia.

Yep, G.W.F., I agree. It’s a shame, isn’t it, that whenever a story like this breaks my instinct now is not to trust the BBC at all to report the facts. Experience has taught me to treat anything they might have to ‘report’ on all such incidents with a huge amount of scepticism.
I’ve found it’s best to give it a day or two and wait for the actual truth to emerge via a less well-known but somehow more diligent (and honest) online news site.

Its been said that qualifications abroad are not as highly sought after as those attained in this country. OK, so does a qualified South African Civil Engineer earn less than a pro on Strictly CD ??? The new ‘addition’ Oti is one such engineer – as commented on by Zoe Ball last night ! Lobster, it really does not surprise me. Personally, I am an atheist, but I still belive it is 100% right to be very clear on if religion is a significant factor in a person(s) committing a crime. Al Beeb seemingly fail to report that when they can get away with it (or, as we all know, deny Islam has any bearing). If a Christian commits a crime because of their religous beliefs, report it, we have a right to know. But this must apply to Muslims as well, regardless of whether or not they recently converted. It must really pain them when they simply cannot hide the truth.

I have noticed the increasing number of these “acid attack” crimes against people, mainly women, over the last few years; it is another of the disturbing practices we have imported along with the Islamic filth and one which is also used, on occasion, by our own indigenous scum: but it began here with them. The use of acid as a form of punishment, is straight out of India and Pakistan.
Why do you think vehicle batteries don’t have acid in them anymore and you have to have a special licence to be able to buy it for industrial applications – cleaning etc? To make it much harder for these evil c***s to be able to get hold of any. It is yet another way in which our society and way of life has had to be changed, to accommodate Muslim criminality and wickedness.

The reporter goes on to tell us that one man off the boat is lying on the beach hands on the sand crying and praying ( can you do both at the same time! ).
We are informed that this man speaks English, so the reporter says lets have a word with him…..’ I am so happy to be here etc etc’ , I thought Hussain Bolt was quick off the blocks but this immmig…. asylum seeker was up and talking to the reporter in about .2 of a second from being flat on the ground, which means of course the whole thing was a charade and a poor one at that.
The whole report was farcical, and I wonder if these reporters believe their own tripe or are just as scared as the rest of employed folk at being seen to say the right thing for fear of losing their jobs. I have to say I run my own business but none the less I could not possibly speak against my beliefs and be a quisling at any price.

The campaigning media seem to have realised that showing mass columns of young, male migrants trooping into Europe wasn’t winning the debate. Change of tack to boats to Greece. Nothing happening in Libya and Italy now apparently, or was that propaganda not working either?
Very little coverage of the refugee camps, can’t think why. I guess they’re irrelevant? As is the massive relief effort from the Gulf, in offering to build more mosques in Germany.

I have not read all the previous contributions so apologies in advance if this appears to be plagiarism
From the BBC today, front page news.
#1 15 year “British” boy convicted of terrorism, Islamic terrorism.
Normal boy, happy home life, usual bollox; normal for a Muslim is terrorist.
Name withheld, but my guess is Mohammed Islam or similar.
#2 Strikes against IS, or whatever they are currently called, in Syria.
This will “fuel extremism” states the BBC headline.
Well BBC, as #1 shows, we already have extremism.
The ‘ing Muslims become extreme when someone threatens to burn their comic book.
The ‘ing Muslims become extreme when someone draws pictures of the creator of their comic book.
The ‘ing Muslims become extreme when someone says or writes anything critical of Islam, which, since there is so much wrong with their silly beliefs, is frequently.
The ‘ing Muslims only stop being extreme when they die.
The ‘ing Muslims only function in Europe is to contaminate it.
The ‘ing Muslims must be shown the door.

Heading (or should it be beheading), on BBC website is “Boy sentenced to life over Anzac plot”. We all know this BBC trick as they play it so often. But they don’t tell us what the Anzacs were plotting.

Here we go … Another Islamic terror beheading plot:
BBC News – the family are … ‘shocked and devastated’
BBC News – “The teenager – now Britain’s youngest convicted terrorist – comes from a “normal” family in Blackburn, Lancashire, and had a “typical relationship” with his mother who would drive him to any of his appointments”.
Yesterday BBC News – “The Muslim defendant was “undoubtedly a troubled young person”
who had had a “difficult” upbringing” ya da ya da ya da

Isn’t the punishment for EXislamist death?
I make no apologies for being traditional English and Church of England and I was selected for the priesthood but I heard a bigger voice telling me that in London most priests are fakes and rather than stand their ground and defend the Church of England they proclaim their “Inclusivity” by posting pictures of the latest Mosque they visited.
In my work with the church I was at the “Multicultural” farewell service to the Mayor of Walthamstow.
I posted on Facebook that it was such a shame that as soon as the service had ended and we went to the hall for refreshments there was no multicutluralism and all the groups segregated and did not interact with other members of the audience. Needless to say the priest instructed me to remove my post!
All I see in the Migrant Crisis and indeed on the wider issue of European and International migration is greed. Self Self Self. I see no humanity, I see no compassion. I posted before that the Good Samaritan arranged care and lodgings for the victim but he did not take him into his own home and I believe that supporting the refugee camps in neighbouring countries is the correct approach.
Bringing the prospect of terrorism even closer home is not what any reasonable person would want.
It is appalling that priests in the national church support other faiths to the extent of ignoring their own congregations. Don’t get me wrong, I am not in any way fundamentalist but to proclaim the work you have done with the Muslim community when you’re supposed to be a CoE priest is gross miss-conduct!
So I am Christian and I believe in Sky-Faeries as a lot of people say but I believe in the right for me to have a free voice and not be silenced in the name of multi-culturalism nor political correctness and for me to be English in my own country.
I’m all for equality but equal means equal not favoured. Try buying a pork sausage where I live after 9pm. That’s not equal. To make things equal I propose no tax breaks for any church/mosque/synagogue/chapel including the Church of England and let them pay full business rates.
We may lose a few churches but it will stop the uprise of bogus churches and mosques and maybe stop fundamentalism and extremism.
Jesus would be proud!!!!!!!!!!!

On these shocking occasions people usually blame the judiciary, yet it is not any fault of theirs. Tory ‘Austerity’ has seen savage cuts to the prison service, no new prison places + mass immigration has meant the prisons are full past capacity.
Rather than spend any money on the public’s protection the Tories have decided the way forward is to cut sentences. Now no one is given a realistic sentence, and few who deserve it are sent to prison.
Unless of course they dare to break the PC laws, or fail to pay the TV tax !

The Prime Minister of Hungary addressing their Parliament a few days ago and said that Europe is ‘rich but weak’. This he said, makes the immigration situation very dangerous.
‘Rich but weak’ is a very apt description. There are exceptional riches available in Europe to the rest of the world. And there are no borders.
Stronger people overcome weaker people for their wealth. This is the way of the world and is as it always has been.
Democracy and freedom has to be defended.

The West is so weak now that it is unable to defend itself. It is not a question of equipment and numbers although that is important. It is the lack of will and the destruction of the warrior ethos in the armed forces. Increasing feminisation as well particularly in the officer class.
Today the BBC news carried a story that recruitment of the officer class is to be stepped up and the emphasis will be on the humanitarian role of the soldier.
Absurd. More than absurd postitively dangerous but this is what a decaying civilisation thinks is important.
At all times and down the ages it is upon the courage and fighting prowess of the warrior that the people who shelter behind him rely upon.
We have just celebrated the pilots who stopped the Germans in 1940. I really think it is just words for the liberal. He or she probably thinks that it would have been all right if we had just been nice and talked to the Nazis .
In a perfect world the warrior would not be necessary. This is not our world and never has been. The world is turning and the West ,if it wants to survive, will have to change. Our enemies are many and all have their reasons. We will need the warrior and his ways although as usual we will not understand or value him.
Hungary is still a healthy society but it is small and too close to the danger. Perhaps the old East now understands that Nato is useless and that the USA is not to be relied on for much longer.
We are seeing Russia assert itself as the Russians realise that Nato is nothing anymore and can be safely ignored. When you think about it Putin has humiliated Nato and the US in Syria and done it with disregard for anything except Russia’s interests.
I am firmly of the opinion that he has acted now because he has understood what the Western leaders have not ,that it is now or never if Europe is to be defended. This is Russia’s time and we had better get used to it.
The tragedy is that this country missed a real opportunity to forge strong links with Russia after 1992. It would have been of such benefit to Europe and to the world.

Watched Weekly Politics on BBC last night and enjoyed Portillo having a major spasm when talking to Nigel Farage – the poor dear couldn’t control his distaste for the UKIP man, and his body language was a treat – arms clasped across his chest and rocking back and forth like an inmate of Bedlam.
By the way Michael, I love your mauve blouse !

Donbob, good post
I am surprised no one else has posted about this earlier. The arrogance of Portillo was staggering……….Quote – ‘Nigel, let’s de-personalise this. You are a divisive person’!!! So not a very personal remark from Portillo, then.
Of course, Nigel made no personal remarks to any of the other guests who at one stage or another were all talking across him.
Furthermore, why is anyone who does not slavishly follow the various mantras of the socialst/marxist wet dream (otherwise known as the EU) ALWAYS described as ‘controversial’, ‘divisive’ or ‘far right’.
The Hungarian Prime Minister is in the news at the moment and because he has made anti immigration speeches is always pre – ambled (admittedly by Sky News) as far right and controversial.
I despair………….

I saw it EM. BBC News 24 – The papers 23.30. 2nd October 2015. So what’s News? Maxine and two ‘B’ list air head journo’s complete with the latest ‘printed blouses’, £40 hair-doos and, oh-so intellectual spectacles are here to educate us – BIASED BBC style.
‘Groundhog Day’ says a liberal idiot (woman) after 6 minutes focusing on the murder of students in Oregon. Groundhog Day indeed:
Another group of left wing establishment Common Porpoises with their heads in the clouds decide that (again) the discussion is not about the crime, but about why the stupid Americans don’t introduce gun control. Where for art thou functional discourse? Blind belief that ‘gun control = no mass shootings’. Do these plankton brains not understand that guns cannot be un-invented; they won’t disappear even if the Prophet Obama (PBUH) decrees it so? Do they not understand that criminals will avail themselves of firearms? Average Joe American will (whether some politician agrees or not) keep his guns to protect himself – he doesn’t either need or want the government to do that for him. And his right to do so is enshrined in the Constitution of the USA.
I’d like to know why, whenever a US shooting occurs, the BBC neglect to report the facts of the events, in favour of adopting a political stance in opposition to The Constitution of the USA. This is absolutely not impartial, reflects badly on the British people by projecting self-righteous pomposity, and incites hatred of law abiding armed Americans.
The Americans have the right to bear arms. It is in the Constitution. Why do no BBC ‘pundits‘ understand that Americans are free to protect their lives, their property and their family? The BBC would do well to ask why all these mass killings seem to occur in ‘gun free zones’, or ‘sitting duck’ zones as many refer to them.
This is ongoing BBC bias, absolute unequivocal bias regarding gun control. Perhaps these idiots have never heard an explanation why Americans will always maintain the right to bear arms, nor an explanation as to how ensuring that the only people who have guns are the government and criminals is a good thing. But that’s the lefties for you. They don’t give a fig about your average Joe tax payer. Only the criminals, race baiters and the self-righteous fascists who believe in mob rule.
“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
That is the Presidential Oath, ladies of the BBC. Preserve, protect, and defend the right to bear arms. Any President who interferes with the 2nd amendment rights should be, and I hope would be impeached.
And then these three lobotomised pundits get a dig in about Thatcher at the end. Cheap shot at the dead- why am I not surprised?
You wouldn’t think Europe was being invaded, that thousands of foreign criminals ignored by the lawless acceptance of the French authorities are attempting to forcibly enter our country or that the USA and Russia are tub-thumping over the war in Syria.
The BBC then showed extracts of some Obama speeches. The guy is a rank idiot with no respect for the Constitution or apparent understanding of his own country’s history, laughably comparing US and British gun laws. He is an embarrassment to his office and I suspect tens of millions of Americans recognise this.
Armed teachers would be a good start. That’s only if you care about kids of course, which the BBC don’t – The BBC just want the Government and the Criminals to have all the guns.
Time for the License Fee to go. End this leftist TV coffee shop talk funding.
“I have a very strict gun control policy: if there’s a gun around, I want to be in control of it.” – Clint Eastwood. Damn right Clint!
Respect freedom. Vote UKIP.

BBC Look North tonight showed clips from an anti child sexual exploitation film, that has been made to make primary school girls aware of the dangers of “grooming”; the film is viewed through the eyes of a young girl. The youth doing the “grooming” in the film is mixed race (not specifically Asian in appearance though) and the female victim is also from an ethnic minority.
It is absolutely f*****g incredible! Can these tw@ts NEVER( EVER) tell the truth?
In “grooming” cases (between November 1997 and August 2013) the convicted perpetrators were 95% Muslim, despite only being 5% of the total population of the U.K.
The victims in these cases were, overwhelmingly, white British girls.
There has NEVER been a case, where it was non-Muslim men “grooming” female Muslim victims.

Reality has not been part of the BBC world view for so long now it is part of the BBC mindset now to deny it. Such a course is full of danger for this useless organisation. Not so much as bringing the lie into the world as bringing the fantasy into the world.
Think of how we are being told that suddenly the Russians are bombing innocent civilians. What are our forces doing one might ask? Better you don’t if you know what is good for you as a Western media drone.
The BBC has betrayed itself and serves those who would deny reality and in the end bring about our ruin.

When you post figures like this, please would you also post a link to where you got the information? This way it silences those who would claim you made the figures up yourself, but more importantly it allows those of us who might want to quote that information on other forums to do so with confidence, and a source if challenged.

The Today Programme
‘He shot 10 bullets at a car full of children’
(Black) Ron Davies’s unarmed 17yo (black) son was shot dead by a white man in the US in 2012
Seems the BBC can specify detail such as colour when inspired. Maybe in light of Oregon & Oz an odd time to go larger on race or faith selectively. Or highlight drive by shooting deaths risking children whilst ignoring the latest from Israel.
Bent much, BBC editorial integrity?

Last night’s ‘Have I Got News for You’ rather confirmed my impression, gained through watching ‘Pointless’ from time to time, that Richard Osman is quite a nasty piece of work behind the smiling mask. His remarks habitually seem to include more than a modicum of unpleasantness or arrogrance. Still, being clearly a Labourite, the BBC will doubtless keep him in view for the foreseeable future.

Well spotted Dover Sentry, I have long suspected the BBC of being anti-English to add to all the other biases they have. It’s not sour grapes, I was dissappointed with the Wales-England result as much as any Englishman but I am man enough to move on. Not the BBC who have been sticking the knife in long before and long after the match.
Anti Christian
anti jewish
pro-muslim
anti-white
pro-black
pro -asian
anti-police
anti-establishment
anti-government
anti-conservative
pro just about any plight of the masses that is percieved
anti all normal white people who pay their taxes, don’t commit crimes, live in a house, drive a car
pro-immigrant
pro welfare and benefit recipients
pro disabled (although I hear that term is not PC enough now)
the list goes on.
What the BBC are overlooking is that they are biting the hands that feed them and this will not go on indefinitely. One day they will be thrown to the wolves or, to be precise, the market. How long will they last?

…and then turned to my English wife and said: “I’m going to support England here. Yes, I am. I’m married to an Englishwoman.
But then, only moments in, when the All Black wing battered his way over for a try, English defenders discarded behind him, I couldn’t contain my roar. Something deep down inside overrode my intentions and I was on my feet. Emotion, no doubt from some unknown insult suffered by my forebears, maybe centuries ago, came out.
Or maybe just pure, unadulterated prejudice – you know, the sort the BBC (that would be the likes of you) are always accusing us ‘Little Englanders’ of.
