In an interview with the BBC, Mr Hammond also said the UK needed to show more of a “duty of care” to vulnerable people at risk of being radicalised by extremists.
Asked by BBC security correspondent Frank Gardner if the new counter-extremism strategy was an admission of failure, not just by this government but by previous governments, Mr Hammond said: “I don’t think it’s just a failure by governments, I think it’s a question about how our society has dealt with these issues in the past.
“And the doctrine of multiculturalism that we clung to for a long time in the UK, I’m afraid, encouraged us to turn a blind eye to things that we should have addressed.
“It allowed us to overlook intolerance that was going on under our very noses.”
A failure of government? The endemic promotion of multiculturalism and the related turning of the ‘blind eye’ to cultural and ideological horrors that were imported was something that the BBC specialised in. It continues to do so now celebrating ‘migrants’ whilst deliberately ignoring the deeply unpleasant stuff that comes with them as well.
The BBC shows us pictures of women and children when the reality is that the vast, vast majority of migrants are young men. The BBC also doesn’t highlight the fact that most of these people are Muslim which has implications for society in the very near future.
The Express is more honest and open about the possible consequences…
SEVERAL millennia were required to build European civilisation but its impending destruction has been the work of just a few years, carried out by a cadre of irresponsible, unpatriotic and deluded politicians led by German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
Dressing up their vandalism as compassion and their cowardice as moral superiority, these leaders have created an immigration crisis so profound that the very existence of our European culture and heritage is under mortal threat.
The tragic paradox of the obsession with free movement and the abolition of national identities is that Europe in any meaningful sense will probably cease to exist this century.
As the social revolution accelerates traditional values of democracy, freedom and solidarity will be replaced by conflict, sectarianism, oppression and intolerance.
Increasingly Islamified, barbaric and poverty-stricken, Europe will become indistinguishable from large swathes of North Africa and the Middle East.
The BBC seems to have totally ignored this rather important prediction from the EU…
The EU covers up its failure to control immigration by disengenuously claiming this is a good thing, an opportunity bringing economic growth to Europe.
You have to suspect that 3 million is a vast underestimate the way things are going.
The BBC prefers to bring you stories that are intended to build empathy for migrants and a sense of pity for their plight…such as this….
She escaped from Syria, only to be abused by her husband in a refugee center in Germany. One woman’s struggle to get help exposes the cracks in an overwhelmed refugee system. Jina Moore reports for BuzzFeed News.
He’d always said nasty things to her, even in public. “Bitch.” “Slut.” “Fuck you, and fuck your parents.” But in the camp, he started to hit her in front of people. One night, about two weeks before I met F, he ripped the handle out of the door and started beating her with it. Then he choked her.
If there had been a criminal investigation, what happened to F might’ve been called attempted homicide. If there had been gender experts brought in, they might’ve warned that men who choke women usually kill them later. And if there had been refugee advocates consulted, they might’ve pointed out that refugee women have been at risk in German refugee camps for years.
Meanwhile, most women in these camps don’t speak English, let alone German, and they’ve come from countries that don’t protect women who are abused by their husbands. One 25-year-old Syrian woman described what it’s like back home this way: “If your husband wants to kill you, he can kill you, and no one will say anything to him.”
“This is just how Arab men are,” the female social worker told F, according to Attar. Then she advised Attar, “Don’t ever get married.”
What exactly is Merkel and the BBC importing into Europe on such a huge scale?
I listened to the BBC Today programme this morning run this item.
“The British government believes there is a significant possibility it was a bomb that brought down the Russian plane flying out of Egypt on Saturday and many thousands of British people – perhaps 20,000 – are stranded in Sharm el-Sheikh. Lyse Doucet is our chief international correspondent in Cairo; we also hear from ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, spokesperson for the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, and the Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond.”
Just a few points. Hammond was given a real grilling over the decision to temporarily suspend flights in and out of Sharm el Sheikh. I found this strange as it is obvious the UK government is rightly putting the lives of BRITISH tourists ahead of Egyptian tourism. This seemed to unsettle the comrades. Why? I have plenty of beefs with the UK government in respect of how it deals with the terrorist threat but I really fail to understand BBC angst over this one.
Secondly, as if the people of this area haven’t suffered enough, Lyse Douchet descends upon the area like the angle of death to heap misery on misery.
David Dimbleby hosts topical debate from Tottenham, London. Panellists include Conservative international development secretary Justine Greening, Labour’s Chuka Umunna, the Green Party’s Jenny Jones, Mail on Sunday columnist Peter Hitchens and writer and broadcaster Victoria Coren Mitchell.
Kick off Tonight at 22.35.
A few days ago, the Northern Ireland Assembly voted down “Gay Marriage” legislation for the FOURTH TIME. Clearly this does not meet with the approval of the BBC and guess what…
Almost two thirds of people in Northern Ireland would feel comfortable if a family member had a same-sex marriage, a new survey suggests. About 2,000 people in both NI and the Republic of Ireland were interviewed about issues from national identity to abortion and same-sex marriage. The survey was jointly commissioned by BBC Northern Ireland and Irish state broadcaster, RTÉ.
The BBC is steadfast in its continued advocacy of “gay marriage and it works with the usual combination of leftists and the likes of Shamnesty International to impose this on Northern Ireland. It can sod off, if you’ll pardon the expression!
The BBC is to the fore in the feminazi war on men. Consider this item ran on the BBC Radio 4 Today programme…
Bonuses of City executives should be linked to targets for the number of senior women appointed at a firm, a review of women in finance, commissioned by the government, will say today. Jayne-Anne Gadhia is chief executive officer of Virgin Money
A more blatant form of discrimination one could hardly conceive. Any sane commercial business would ensure that bonuses are linked exclusively to performance and specifically delivery of key financial/operational performance. Introducing gender wars and the feminisation of financial reward may appeal to Ms Gadhia and the BBC R4 producers but it sure as hell does not appeal to a sensible business.
The thing about Jeremy Bowen is his dogged determination to ensure that the Jews are always to blame for the Palestinians killing them. Here Jeremy asks the loaded question
He could, of course, ask the better question “Did Arafat’s survival kill the best chance of peace” but then again that might be a tad risky to the BBC narrative which, is redux form, is always the same -“Blame the Jews”
May I commend this excellent insight into BBC bias and in particular how it bigs up the loathsome man-hating Labour MP Jess Phillips? This is on the thoroughly recommended HE Equality blog.
“At HEqual we’ve followed the story of Jess Phillips’ opposition to International Men’s Day very closely and a number of her most notorious tweets are actually replies to us. For those who dont’ know about this story, Jess Phillips MP laughed at he idea of discussing men’s issues in Parliament and insisted there shoudl be no debates on men’s issues until 50% of women were MPs! As most people know by now, the BBC and much of the rest of the media have been telling countless lies about this story and turning reality on its head. We’ve complained about the blatantly biased BBC coverage on Newsnight, the following article covers the various biases they’re shown and also highlights much more interesting and competently unreported realities about the misconduct of Jess Philips and her sexism against men.”
This is a really interesting insight into the warped world of BBC bias..
“Watching BBC3’s Britain’s Biggest Sexists? tonight it’s clear this tax-payer funded propaganda machine has hatred written into its DNA. There is one thing it hates above all others: The white, British male. And if said WBM votes UKIP (or Tory) then they really don’t deserve to call planet earth their home, right BBC?
That Britain’s Biggest Sexists? was always going to be crude, biased and disingenuous was abundantly clear to anyone with even the faintest shred of intelligence. Is Britain Racist? asked the same channel a few weeks ago. And yep you guessed it, the good old WBM was once again exposed as a species that ranks in the hierarchy of evolution as somewhere between a cockroach and plankton.”
All so very predictable.’
And then, try this, another insightful contribution…
“Tonight BBC3 broadcast Britain’s Biggest Sexists?, presented by Ms Green. Predictably, she turns out to be a whiny, sneering, narcissistic, ignorant, misandrous, sexist bigot. Other than that, I have no opinions on her. Having those qualities is probably required to be a journalist with the Guardian, to be fair. Without any apparent irony, her programme includes footage of three of Britain’s most extreme and vile sexists – Laura Bates, Jess Phillips MP, and Stella Creasy MP.
I recommend you watch the hour-long programme, if only for some unintended laugh-out-loud moments. There’s a BBC-approved token unfunny ‘comedian’ mangina of whom I’ve never heard, despite being a comedy buff. The piece will remain available on iPlayer – here– for the next 29 days. We’d add it to the lengthy list of BBC anti-male pieces on our YouTube channel, but the last time we tried to post a whole BBC programme on the channel, it was rejected by YouTube. A link to a small number of the countless BBC anti-male TV and radio programmes is here.”
